Hope you’ve all been enjoying the E3 coverage on the blog so far, and all the new games that have been announced. Unfortunately I don’t have the pleasure of writing this from sunny LA, but I’m pleased to say that we have a batch of recent trailers shown at the event available for you to download from the Store now.
Enjoy the trailers (there are a lot of titles there that I can’t wait to get my hands on myself) and remember that we will be updating the store this Thursday as usual, so be sure to join us then!

When is Eu getting the Video Store?
Why would you bring vidzone which plays music videos before the Video Store for the PS Store? Japan has it and so does the USA so when is Eu getting the Video store?

Loads of videos, but where’s the classic games at?
I am so tempted to ask where FF7, MGS and resident evil (AND THE REST) are but you must get that enough, from jabronis like me….
By the way Bishi Bashi Special is so good, I am grateful at least for that.
When are we going to see a FANTAVISION HD REMIX? e3X perhaps?
Where all the FANTAVISION fans at?

FFVII is coming to the EU/PAL region store? I honestly didn’t expect that – but I’m very happy! Are we going to get other PS1 games the US has such as RE1?

Everything about our PlayStation Store is laziness on behalf of SCEE. I mean, I don’t know who’s fault it is, or why it’s such a problem, but you can tell how much they care about our store compared to the Americas and Japans stores.
Just go make an account, and look at them. You’ll notice straight away what I’m on about.
The American store, for a start, has so much more categories to minimize searching, their icons for each category have a finer developed art, every single piece of content is bordered and labelled properly so you know what everything is without selecting it first.
It’s just a joke how the European store sucks in comparison.

If you already have final fantasy 7 from the ps1, you don’t really need to buy it again, unless you can’t be bothered to swap discs, also maybe we might find out the video store in the conference for europe in august, that will be concentrating more on the european market, this is more focused on the american market

i don’t understand why people complain about ff7 not being on the EU store. It is on the US store, download it there then…what’s the difference anyway?

For the video store, I believe the process would be similar to why CapcomVsTatsunoko(Wii) was delayed for the US. Basically different companies own the rights to certain Tatsunoko characters in the US (as opposed to one in Japan), so Capcom had to deal with each company separately and strike up deals – if they even want to license the characters at all.
Multiply that process by the amount of EU countries that Capcom supports & you get a sense of the task involved. If one company doesn’t want to license their character, you have to either a) not release the game, b)take characters out & present an inferior version, c) renegotiate & start the process again.
To bring this example back to the Video store, say EU country X owns the rights to show Z in that country, but doesn’t want to deal with Sony or a deal (right financially for both sides) can’t be agreed – do you release the content in all other EU countries for which you’ve agreed a deal, denying country X? or do you try to renegotiate or scrap that particular content for all regions etc.
I hope that made sense?:)

Content is great.
Pity there was nothing shown on Resident Evil: Portable or Agent.

VidZone not in The Netherlands.
And again we are second to the US in content.
Frek you Sony!!!
PS the presentation was terrible compared to Micro$oft (and no I don’t have a Xbox).

I second JordanBlack68′s comment. I prefer the NA layout and wished the EU one was more like it. It needs more sections to help organise the content. All game related pics, add-ons, videos, demos and themes are all cluttered in one folder. It really makes it a chore to look for certain things. i get that there’s a search button now, and that’s a good start, but it could still be better. A search button is good for when you know what you’re looking for. Sometimes i don’t know what game i wanna try out, i might just feel like trying a game that’s in the shooter genre. In the NA store, i just go to demo, shooter genre and easily choose a game that might interest me. Rummaging thru the EU store is just a chore compared to the American counterpart.

Hello, I’m posting here in the hope that anyone from Sony reads this:
The Portugal PSN doesn’t have tons of content that “all” the other european PSNs have, some third parties were already contacted and they said they have given aproval to have their products in all the PSNs, including the Portugal PSN.
Please, if anyone reads this and wants to help, pass by the portuguese playstation forum and read the posts (especially the PSN updates one) and contact the forum moderators if you have questions about the matter.(I’ll post again in the next psn update entry)
Thank you very much for your help.

I would also ask on when the VidStore with movies and Television series will be added? It cannot be a licensing problem because Apple obviously gets it done?
So where is the problem?
Any comments from Sony?

I Know its annoying, but we poor german guys can’t even see some of the videos… when will there be a solution for this age18-thing?
74
Posted on 3 June, 2009 at 4:32 pm by Ebicurry
Gameboys: I believe the the root of the issue with adult content lies rather by the government or the regulators in Germany than by Sony

It’d be too good if FFVII was translated again to Spanish, since the translation difficults sometimes the understanding of the history…
-English: Damn! your friend (girl) is hot too ==> Spanish: Damn! your friend (boy) it’s also dangerous
-English: It’s cool (terrific) ==> Spanish: How cold
-Tifa refers herself as a man almost always
Among other translations. Anyway I think it won’t be translated again, but it’s worth the try.

@Ebicurry: That’s correct… but there a legal ways to get fsk18-content… post-ident and so on… so there r ways, but sony didn’t even talk about a solution or about these ways, since beginning of ps3
And a lot of firms using the methods of age-identification… amazon, playcom, and a lot more… and believe me – protect the kids – but I’m nearly 30 years old and if I try to switch in the resident Evil-Area in home, i just got the “you are not old enough to enter this space”-message… and that’s not nice.

2 YEARS of waiting for Castlevania Symphony of The Night…why??? Release that before anything else, its SOOOOOOOO long overdue. Every Thur I log onto PSN and its an anti-climax. Just look at the Streetfighter HD remix fiasco on UK PSN!!!!! I wouldve easily purchased that to tide me over until Streetfighter 4, but by the time it came out it wasnt worth it. And from what I hear it was only a minor…MINOR bug (that was in the released versions on XBOX live and PSN US and JAP) that stopped us getting it.

Please some news on The Last Guy trophy patch… Desperate for it…
I love the game, but not going to waste my effort playing it, knowing I have to do it all again once the patch finally arrives….

Just a little question about Final Fantasy VII for the PSN Europe…
Will we get the game with those stupid bars? Because the original game in Europe had them because of the 50hrz signal and the PAL color mode in Europe.
Thats all I want to know, thanks in advance.

Come on SCEE lets have some answers to all the questions i keep reading again and again…..
Where are the PS1 classics….
FFVII, MGS, CSN, RE1 etc….?????
When will we get the movie download service????
Where are the updates for Blast Factors and Last Guy?????
Posted on 4 June, 2009 at 10:01 am by Mike Kebby
Hi there,
I have stated a few times previously that in regards to 3rd party titles it is down to the publisher to submit a title for release onto the store, until they have done that and they have announced this, I cannot confirm one way or the other I’m afraid. It would probably be best though to direct your question to the particular publishers.
FFVII is coming soon, I just cannot give you a specific date at the moment, but it is around the corner.
I have no news on the movie download service I’m afraid, if I had information for you, please be assured it would be announced here on the blog.

The new “look” of PS Store is pretty cool and faster.
But… We want more PlayStation Classics!!! FF VII, MGS, Resident Evil series (they’re in japanese store), and others.
That’s would be awesome!

“Just to confirm for you all VidZone will be hitting the PS Store on the 11th of June.”
Aaah. Oooh.
Good luck with the launch. Will it be through Sony Music, and with extras for specific countries? Or will it be only for some countries at first, etc.?

Hi, first time poster, have owned a PS3 for a year now since I won it in a Sydney Morning Herald blogging competition (now moved to The Age Newspaper’s site).
You’ve probably heard enough about FFVII on PSN Mike so I’ll ask you if we’ll ever see Silent Hill on PSN again? *cues The Angels guitar solo*. I heard it got removed because of a bug but I have never played Silent Hill and was looking forward to playing it, but alas, a week later it was GONE.
Make sure that at SCEE this never happens again (especially not to a possibly impending Final Fantasy VII). I would hate to miss out on a game because it was removed like Silent Hill was in the AUS PSN Store.

when does the EU PSN Store actually have an update? Is it every Friday?

The EU Forum has many threads saying today for FFVII. If it doesn’t get released, expect blood.
Or at the very least excessive flaming.

Poor Mike in a different time zone, let him get some rest. Now I feel bad about pesting him about the Silent Hill issue, important as that is even bloggers need sleep.
