PlayStation Store Update – 4th June

Hope you all enjoyed the E3 trailers we put on the store yesterday, there were definitely some great titles shown off. Now though, it’s back to normal proceedings with our weekly Thursday publish.

For those of you who’ve been asking about the release of Final Fantasy VII, I can confirm that we now have the English and Spanish language versions live on the Store today. Although, I have to apologise to those who are waiting for the French and German language versions as we’ve had to delay those versions until tomorrow afternoon.

Alongside the release of FFVII we’ve got a nicely varied selection of content for you this week: there is the great puzzler Trash Panic; for the fight-fans out there we have the demo of Fight Night Round 4; GTI Club gets some additional cars for you to race in; and those Resistance 2 Grim and Malikov skins are now available too. It’s also a pleasure for us to feature the first batch of downloadable tracks for Rock Band Unplugged for our PSP users.

It doesn’t stop there though; see the full list below for more.

Trash Panic

It’s only the beginning of June, but I think we’ve got off to a good start. And, there’s a great deal more brilliant content coming this month (and beyond) so be sure to join me every Thursday to check it out.

You made all the other languages but not italian? I would have understand if it had to remain with the original one, but once you translate in spanish, french and german…
This is incredible, really…

centrinoduo91 4 June, 2009 @ 6:51 pm   8

oh stop it with the ‘FIRSTS’ :Shame: :P

FF7, i’ve never played it before. tempting….

glad the Assassin’s creed stuff is though too. double blade kills were FTW

Thanks, some of these will be interesting. Hopefully Hatton might win once.

    Mike Kebby 4 June, 2009 @ 6:53 pm

I’ve played the demo a fair few times already, and it’s incredible, I cannot wait for this game! Knockouts are much harder to pull off than in FNR3, and in only 3 rounds in this demo it’s nigh on impossible to do…I must perservere though ;)

dyslekt 4 June, 2009 @ 6:52 pm   10

Trash Panic are so mine!!

Nice :).

Nemhome 4 June, 2009 @ 6:52 pm   12

mrfight67 4 June, 2009 @ 6:53 pm   14

Never played FFVII, but im getting it!

Also, when is Rock Band Unplugged (Full Game) out? And when will it be out on PlayStation Store?

almighty-slayer 4 June, 2009 @ 6:54 pm   15

Uhm, Not seeing FFVII…

KatanaStrikes 4 June, 2009 @ 6:54 pm   16

Tokobots is £11.99 on the Store, Mike. Not £9.99 as you state.

Videos not up yet? I canny see em.

tretle 4 June, 2009 @ 6:54 pm   17

Is there a firmware update on the horizon?

Crazybasil 4 June, 2009 @ 6:54 pm   18

Hmm… Is there any trophies for Thrash Panic? I’m such a whore…

JesteR17011 4 June, 2009 @ 6:55 pm   19

LOL its E3 and this is all? A puzzle game with no demo for it and where is Wolfenstein 3D? It will be out in the US store today. Why not here? Wheres GH Smash Hits demo? Its on 360 already. Man this is a [DELETED] update considering its E3 week.

Grind_Axis 4 June, 2009 @ 6:55 pm   20

No Final Fantasy VII in the dutch PSN store, which was the last time I lived there neither a French or German speaking country… I’m sorely dissapointed if we would miss out on this.

LSB123 4 June, 2009 @ 6:56 pm   21

Christ had me worried when I couldn’t see it lol
Great update, although I wouldn’t feel European if I didn’t moan

almighty-slayer 4 June, 2009 @ 6:57 pm   25

Okay its up now.

Will Rockband be put up on the store? I want to play it but i can’t be bothred to wait for it to be delivered :P

Aphiss 4 June, 2009 @ 6:57 pm   26

Would you say its Fight Night over UFC?

    Mike Kebby 4 June, 2009 @ 7:03 pm

Personally yes, but that’s just my choice. I enjoyed both demo’s, but I’ve played FNR4 more. They are both GREAT games though, it’s just as an amateur boxer myself my heart lies within the square ring not that funny shaped one :)

FreeLanZerDK 4 June, 2009 @ 6:58 pm   27

Ahh a restart of the PS3 fixed it..

ShogunDarius 4 June, 2009 @ 6:59 pm   28

Great to see we got trash panic and ff7.

Whn are we getting suikoden? wild arms? disgaea 3 dlc or comet crash though?

    Mike Kebby 4 June, 2009 @ 7:04 pm

If I had visibility of them on the release schedules I would share that info with you, but at the moment I do not have any dates. I will look into those titles for you though and see what information I can find out, as I know this is content the community wants ;)

rp2000 4 June, 2009 @ 7:00 pm   29

WHAT OTHER NEW games are coming on the PS1 front? Resi Director’s cut? MGS?

USA has Resident Evil already.

rp2000

gamez4life 4 June, 2009 @ 7:00 pm   30

This is ridiculous, how FF is $7.99 in US store and also £7.99 seems sony doesnt hear of exchange rates, same with the new psp , if the prices going about are true £230, then that is way out of order should be £150

ShogunDarius 4 June, 2009 @ 7:01 pm   31

Also why is texas cheat em’ £9.99 on our store, when its 800 microsoft points on the marketplace and $9.99 in dollars on the us store, why are we being overcharged for it?

Muhib786 4 June, 2009 @ 7:01 pm   32

Wow fab Mike Thanks!! The crown jewel in PS1′s crown is back!! Drum roll please……..FFVII!!! Whooh!

Diablo_Rosso 4 June, 2009 @ 7:02 pm   33

When can we expect MGS1 on the store?

cryhavoc 4 June, 2009 @ 7:02 pm   34

Nooooo!!! I can’t wait any day longer to get my hands on Final Fantasy 7 again. It’s the best game I’ve ever played…
Why do we poor Germans have to wait one day longer?

lardteamaker 4 June, 2009 @ 7:02 pm   35

Hi there Mike. Good update, but anyword on when the Blast Factor patch is coming?

cheers in advance

Hellblazer 4 June, 2009 @ 7:03 pm   36

Why isn’t there a dedicated section for PSone games?

Would be good if the PSone thumbnails could be restyled as well to match the US PSN store. Where’s the consistency? Will take half a day in photoshop to do I bet.

Why do some full PSP games have the ‘platinum’ thing on them and others not… looks dumb. At this point, no one buying the game digitally cares if it’s ‘platinum’ or not. Again, some kind of consistent labeling (US store) would make it look so much better.

And demo’s lumbered in with everything else is terrible, how hard can it be to translate ‘demo’ into other EU languages.

otherwise good showing on the content this week *thumbs up* :)

    Mike Kebby 4 June, 2009 @ 7:08 pm

    Hey,

There is a dedicated section for PSone games – they are found in the PS3 Games and PSP Games sections under PSone Classics ;)

Some platinum games have icons and some don’t because not every game has been given platinum status, that’s for best-sellers only.

Good Stuff, downloading Trash Panic / Final Fantasy VII now. :)

Soker_Snake 4 June, 2009 @ 7:04 pm   38

Final Fantasy VII SOLD:D:D

mrmusic1990 4 June, 2009 @ 7:05 pm   39

Thanks

Mygirlfriends 4 June, 2009 @ 7:05 pm   40

Does Sony have any plans to let people change their psn ids anytime soon?

samich2007 4 June, 2009 @ 7:06 pm   41

Hey graet!! :)
I love that daily update, you need to do that much more! :)

But one question. When will that exclusive PSN game the Punisher be released on PSN. It was stated for a June release. Do you know anything about it? And when will we see more from this game.
Thanks,
Kind Regards

loonytoon1982 4 June, 2009 @ 7:07 pm   42

Thanks.

Also, what exactly is the reason for the delay of the German and French version of FF VII? Just curious.
