Hope you all enjoyed the E3 trailers we put on the store yesterday, there were definitely some great titles shown off. Now though, it’s back to normal proceedings with our weekly Thursday publish.
For those of you who’ve been asking about the release of Final Fantasy VII, I can confirm that we now have the English and Spanish language versions live on the Store today. Although, I have to apologise to those who are waiting for the French and German language versions as we’ve had to delay those versions until tomorrow afternoon.
Alongside the release of FFVII we’ve got a nicely varied selection of content for you this week: there is the great puzzler Trash Panic; for the fight-fans out there we have the demo of Fight Night Round 4; GTI Club gets some additional cars for you to race in; and those Resistance 2 Grim and Malikov skins are now available too. It’s also a pleasure for us to feature the first batch of downloadable tracks for Rock Band Unplugged for our PSP users.
It doesn’t stop there though; see the full list below for more.
It’s only the beginning of June, but I think we’ve got off to a good start. And, there’s a great deal more brilliant content coming this month (and beyond) so be sure to join me every Thursday to check it out.

Not to be picky, but I don’t see the Commented Gameplay for Assassin’s Creed II, just the cinematic trailer.
I normally wouldn’t point out the lack of a video, but I’m sure you’ll agree that that demonstration was fantastic!

Any news on when The Last Guy trophy/DLC patch is going to make it to Europe? It’s a SCEE published title, so you don’t really have any excuses for not knowing..
Please, throw us a bone and give us some news…

Please speak to Konami to get Metal Gear Solid 1 on the store the same week as the US get it (or next week). Loved MGS4 but never played any of the earlier ones. Great update though, finally get the chance to play FFVII.

I have Final Fantasy VII since the day it was put on sale in Spain, for my old PSX. But… it doesn’t work on my PS3 (the game freezes just when Cloud has to appear for the first time, when the train arrives to the station). The game works fine on my PSX and on my PS2.
So I supose I’ll have to buy it again if I want to play the game in my PS3… (I can’t in my PSP, because my Memory Stick has 1GB, and the game is bigger).

Will FFVII on the french PlaystationStore be supporting english voices? It not, please make sure to implement it, just as you did with every other games released so far.

Ah, great stuff. Look forward to downloading and playing, haven’t played an FF game before. It will get me ready for FFXIII as well.
I’m guessing MGS1 will be coming to the store very soon as well, considering the US have it already?

@124 your on the Eu blog you need to be on the SCEA blog for the updates for your region.

Would it be possible to release the NTSC versions of unoptimised PAL PlayStation games in the UK, France, Spain or whichever languages were supported in the North American release? Some other Euro countries may also like the option of the NTSC version in English.
I think PAL gamers like myself would be more likely to rebuy their PlayStation games if they played fullscreen with the intended refresh rate.

Woohoo! FF VII in the Dutch store now! Another 10 euros towards Sony/S-E!
Only thing missing now is Uncharted 2′s awesome e3 trailer!

Was the origonal FF VII released in Italian, because you can’t expect Square-Enix (This would be something SCEE would be unable to do anything about as they do’nt own the games rights) to re translate the entire game for a PSN release.
I should work for Sony…Hint , Hint , Hint!

Posted on 4 June, 2009 at 9:04 pm by CsMisi
I wonder if anyone can give us an update about when a PSN store comes to the regions without one (Romania and Hungary especially)? Or at least give us access to a common PSN store, where we can purchase our updates and PSN games … We really need one.
136
Posted on 4 June, 2009 at 9:07 pm by Sherif_129
Nice update!
It would be nice for SCEE to release demos of the PlayStation Network titles that launch in the same day. For example, say Fat Princess was coming onto the PlayStation Store next week, it would be nice for a demo, to also launch with the game.
Just a pain to risk my money on buying something I do not like, when a simple demo would help me out.

Great update Sony, keep it up. Regarding the price points £7.99 in the UK is not bad. There is always going to be a difference when it comes to these sort of things, probably blame it on tax being higher in the UK etc. If you think £7.99 is too much for what is classed as one of the classics then do not buy, it’s as simple as that. Good luck finding it anywhere else for that price. Ebay are selling for around the £30 mark, now that’s expensive.
1 question though, how come the US got ‘Rag Doll Kung Fu’ for free as a sponsored promotion a couple of weeks back? Is this going to be a possibility in the EU territories for any other products? Just wondering, keep up the fight………………………..

People, to those of you who care about quality in a game download the Final Fantasy VII from the US store.
Why? you ask?
The PAL version (EUROPE) of the game have black bars to support the NTSC signal and runs on 50hrz, while the NTSC version (US) supports the game in full screen and runs at 60hrz, meaning that the game runs in full screen and at the real speed the way it was meant to be played.
Sorry people but Square-Soft in the old days treated us Europeans quite bad…all Final Fantasy games were like that except for the Final Fantasy XII.
Didn’t some of you find odd playing Final Fantasy X in cinema scope (those black bars)?
I’m just writing this as a warning…nothing more.

GTA-4, I had the same problem a while back and the way I fixed it was just to go through the whole reconnecting of the network settings on the PS3. It worked for some unknown reason, however I still get it every now and again when I first boot up the machine but it usually reconnects after if asked.
