Hope you all enjoyed the E3 trailers we put on the store yesterday, there were definitely some great titles shown off. Now though, it’s back to normal proceedings with our weekly Thursday publish.
For those of you who’ve been asking about the release of Final Fantasy VII, I can confirm that we now have the English and Spanish language versions live on the Store today. Although, I have to apologise to those who are waiting for the French and German language versions as we’ve had to delay those versions until tomorrow afternoon.
Alongside the release of FFVII we’ve got a nicely varied selection of content for you this week: there is the great puzzler Trash Panic; for the fight-fans out there we have the demo of Fight Night Round 4; GTI Club gets some additional cars for you to race in; and those Resistance 2 Grim and Malikov skins are now available too. It’s also a pleasure for us to feature the first batch of downloadable tracks for Rock Band Unplugged for our PSP users.
It doesn’t stop there though; see the full list below for more.
It’s only the beginning of June, but I think we’ve got off to a good start. And, there’s a great deal more brilliant content coming this month (and beyond) so be sure to join me every Thursday to check it out.

Say, can you tell us if we can expect Metal Gear Solid to come to the EU store. I’ve heard it’s coming to the US store, and I think it would be horrible if we missed out on it. After all, it is a Playstation classic! And I bet many people would like to replay the game on their PS3.

Could I get some confirmation if the French version of FFVII will have English Text, I’m English but I live and work in France.
I’ve been waiting long long time to get FFVII on my PSP, I avoided using less the legal means and have even bought a 4gb memory stick for this game.
Will it only be in French or will also support english.

FF7 is still great
Instabought and downloaded.
Wish the PS3 upscaled PSone games, though. The PS2 filtered PSone games really nicely, smoothed the textures off properly… I can’t see if my PS3 is even doing that?
Is there any chance we’ll get more options in the future for graphics settings on these older games? They’d look so much nicer in a proper high resolution.

@164 I’m sure there going to have to do it around the launch of the PSP Go! otherwise there will be an entire demographic unable to purchase gam,es for their psp as the new PSP uses only Digidal dowloaded content from the PSP and PSN store and then transfered onto it.

I would love to get the english version of FF7 as the german translations are usually quite bad.
Sadly, it is still not possible to order from the UK store, so I’ll say yet again “goodbye SCEE, hello SCEA”
:-/

Posted on 4 June, 2009 at 11:27 pm by IkTuX
To mattshill, the original FF VII was not in italian, but an underground team of “developers” has made a modded version, and for an italian user it was very comfortable to read directly in our languages
SCEA/square can contact this team, and take it from this “hacked version”
…please

Great update team, trash panic is great, really addictive, i got to stage 4 on it, i read if you hold down L2 you can close the bin lid and make the fire spread faster, also getting ff7 on the store one day after the US great going, looking forward to vidzone next week, that should be good, also the new killzone maps as well, keep up the good work
Posted on 5 June, 2009 at 10:12 am by Mike Kebby
Here’s another tip, you can also shake the controller from side to side and that will sometimes shake the trash around so it settles a bit more flatly

I almost turned to less than kosher methods to play ff7 on the PSP, but thankfully, i’m now playing it and some one at sony is laughing at the 7.99 I just gave them for a game I own on disc.. hmm.. However. i can say, woo-bloody-hoo! I love ff7, and being able to sit in bed and play it is damn awesome.
next up..
Metal…gear? (pleeeese!)

Great update Sony, nice to have FF7 so quick after the US got it! Sadly I live in Holland and you can only purchase on the store using credit cards, which are not commonly used here. This is a pitty, could you please fix this and enable the use of normal debit cards too or please please please please release PSN prepay cards? That would be awesome!
Keep up the great work!

0Its great to know we got final Fantasy 7 one of my Favorite FF games and ps1 classic. Next it would be great to see Alundra on PSN second favorite PS1 game .But what would be nice if you guys @ SCEE would finally answer are question on when we are going to get the Video store why is it that hard for you to answer a simple question. Are we going to wait for as long as we had to wait for the Europe PS Blog? I hope not.

Love the Store update, it’s great to see so much going into this one, and I bet the next few weeks will be even bigger (There are some really nice games just on the horizon!).
Downloading the Fight Night 4 demo now, really keen to check out how this is playing, looks like a landmark title.
I know I asked this last week, but I’m going to reiterate it again because I think my comment was lost in the midst of everything else –
Would it please be possible to include the AUD$ (Australian Dollar) prices alongside the Euro and the GBP? It is so different from either of these currencies that there’s no real way of guessing what the price will be by looking at those two, and I think Australia is sufficiently large enough to have its own price recorded.
Also, other countries in the surrounding Oceanic areas generally use the $AUD as a reference currency, so it makes sense!
Please give us Aussies some attention too, please, don’t forget we’re the other part of the European region!

Hey, Can someone who is in the know PLEASE tell me what happened to Silent Hill on the UK store, it was there for a few days then just disappeared without a trace.
Also howcome we get charged more for the same content they receive in America (bad exchange rate on the UK store…getting charged £9.99 for something that is $9.99….which today should be about £6.20)
Thanks if you reply!

£7.99 for FF7 is a bit too dear for me.
Why Isn’t it £3.99 like other ps1 classics?
Our prices seem to be going up

Good update. I will buy FF7 as soon as I get a 4GB memory stick for my PSP (1GB isn’t enough for it).
Will we ever get Medal of Honor or Wolfenstein 3D??

Hmmm…. i’m tempted to get Trash Panic & FF7, but i must complete Star Ocean 1 & 2 first lol
This might be a long shot, but is there any chance Destruction Derby 2 will be released as i loved that game or maybe a brand new game in the series *hopes & prays*

Seriously weel done SCEE, to have FFVII come out so soon after the announcement of E3 and upload in the states. It can only be a good thing to have more instances of close to simultaneous releases!
Also, FFVII, if u havent played it, u seriously need to grab it off the store, and play a bit of gaming history.

Posted on 5 June, 2009 at 2:55 am by GeekPhilosopher
Well done SCEE, you almost lost me with the Street Fighter II Fiasco of 2009 but this made up for it.
Just goes to show when there’s an effective process you can go to to request games be released in EU, there is no need for panic and whining. Apart from my anxiety disorder heightened fear that FFVII might get taken off PS Store like Silent Hill was…
*thinks of happy place* *NEVER AGAIN, they won’t do it to FFVII, there’s no place like Midgar*

I have question on FFVII on EU PSN. Is it same as old crappy PAL conversion (borders, deformed screen proportions, slowness) or is it already fixed and looks right like NTSC version? Or again we got less for more money?
198
Posted on 5 June, 2009 at 9:26 am by soilheart
Podyman:
Sorry to say this but it’s the PAL version sadly.
So it suckysucks! (Grumbles about my ~8€ being put on such a bad conversion).
A question to Mike:
Is it possible to get the NTSC version too/instead after have bought the PAL version? Or am I stuck with the inferior PAL version just because I live in the wrong part of the world?
