Hello again, I hope you’ve all had a good week! This week sees an incredible array of content on the store, from a brand new PSN full game, to a couple of ‘old-school’ classics, our new music application VidZone, additional map packs for two great FPS titles; Call of Duty: World at War and Killzone 2, and much more. Burnout Paradise has also had a recent extension into Big Surf Island, so all Paradise City racers should get themselves ready for more mayhem.
Following on from the announcement of The Last Guardian, fans of the two previous Team Ico titles Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, and of LittleBigPlanet, can now download some great new costumes for their Sackboy to celebrate their love of these games.
I know I said this last week too, but I think we’ve had a great start to June on the PlayStation Store and I just wanted to reiterate the point, that there’s much more great new content to come.
Have a good week all and, as usual, let us know what you think

I would’ve loved to see VidZone in The Netherlands too, is there any news on it coming to us?
And this is the best Rock Band DLC update ever. I’ll be buying that as soon as I can use the credit card again. (Grr I want PS Cards)

Good update, but the prices are way too high. How can Texas Cheat Em` be $10 and £10 here?.
1$ does not equal £1
Its, 1.64$ to £1
We need more PS Classics.
Thanks.

regarding Ghostbusters demo…
when you say on the horizon, is there a chance it will come out this week or will we have to wait for next week?

I seem to be asking this each week, and have yet to receive a response (I know it has to be difficult in the sea of responses, so I understand), but would it be possible to include the Australian Dollar prices in these PSN Store updates?
It’s almost impossible to gauge what the AU price might be going from only the quoted Euro and Pound, and lots of people use this post each week as a convenient way of checking out new additions and prices.
It’d be a small thing that would be a big help, and all the Aussies everywhere (and those smaller countries around us that rely on our $) would love you

Wolfenstein 3D is a fantastic port, have no complaints at all. Bringing back a bucket load of memories. Good to see it’s aged well. Usually when I get all “psyched” for playing a vintage game from yesteryear it ends up not as good as it used to be due to standards being set higher with current generation systems, but Wolfenstein 3D is still a lot of fun!
Haven’t really followed the Wolfenstein franchise since then, I was hoping to get Return to Castle Wolfenstein when it came out but it was incompatible with my system. One of the many reasons I chose to abandon PC gaming and return to the land of the consoles.
Bottom line, LOVE IT!

Vidzone is a very cool little thing, could be great, major issues with it though. Surely if you have tracks set to play one after another it should begin downloading the next track as soon as the one playing is done, the search system is very slow (and no keyboard support, why not?), the startup is just far far to long, and it really needs a shuffle option. One other thing i would like is the ability in settings to have a lower quality stream so the files are smaller, thins would be great for people like myself (and thousands of others) who aren’t on 5mb+ internet speeds. i would rate vidzone 6.5/10 so far BUT seeing as they have the full uncut Thriller video it gains bonus points of 15, so it gets 21.5/10 from me

Any chance when you put full games on the store, you at least give us some screen shots so we know what we are buying.
I don’t think I’ll ever buy something on impulse by text alone.
Thanks,
Dan

I didn’t find the answer anywhere (maybe I didn’t search well enough) but why even if we are using the swiss French psn it is impossible to download English content ? I set my PS3 in English so everything is in English) I don’t understand why by example I cannot just download FFVII in english on the Swiss French PSN. Marketing reason or just compatibility issue ? I bought Infamous and 1 or 2 days later, suprise a patch and now the game is in english and the first time it was in french. So it seems it’s possible to use English content in the french part.
Well if there is an issue with the french version but the english version is ok why to bother ?? and the translation of FFVII in French was pretty funny with some non senses, words or sentences not translated at all. If I can choose between the English version and the french version, the choice is quickly done… English one…

thanks for the VidZone.
Lots of music man O_o.
You need to add MORE!
Also more from 90s (best for RnB and HiPHoP)
Searching letter should be fixed.
This content VidZone will be a 10/10 5 Stars A++ 5/5 If we could play video game music:):):)

well, the uk is still useless. ive been trying to buy the 2nd cod pack since about 6pm yesterday…12 hours later and still no luck. people say keep re-trying and i have..all night. must have entered my details 50+ times by now. i cant see how the servers are still jammed at 5:30am. good job on Vidzone btw, i especially like how its almost impossible to enter a band name and the lack of anything i really like is amazing. i cant complain right? after all it is free…think ill stick to youtube tbh. sort your damn store out! i take a day off work to play cod with my friends and i cant download the damn thing. what a waste of time. thanks SCEE, ive been screwed again. when will i learn that u need to be american to acually have a working store.

@Doomshine, those PSN cards won’t come they will never come, why not? Because Sony was so silly enough not to use a point system like Nintendo / Microsoft is doing and now we’re screwed in Europe because not everyone want’s the Euro, that’s why.

I just would like to said that it is VERY unfair to delay one more time the FFVII relase for french PSN.
If you are not able to release the French version in time you should at least release an english version on the french psn…
I am very disapointed. I will boycott the PSN and will not buy any PS3/PSP game until a relase of FFVII (french or english version) is released on french PSN.
As usual SCE don’t care about French users…

Yeh, VidZone is great but it is not in The Netherlands.
Freck you Sony!
But I’m very sorry for Hungary… no PlayStationStore, no PlayStationHOME. Man, you know you bought the wrong games machine.
Come on Sony, get you act together!

This is what you guys write in the blog news, but you seem to forget that a lot of countrys arent included in this update.
Please remember that there are other countrys than the big 4, namely UK,DE,FR,SP.
I can understand that you can have problems with releasing VidZone in all the EU countrys at the same time, but a statment on when the rest of us could expect the VidZone update would be nice.
But other than that, i just wanna say thanks for a great blog and the greatest gaming system ever made.

“FFVII has been released, there have been issues with the French version unfortunately, I won’t give specific reasons, but it will be fixed in due course and released as soon as possible, please be patient with us, and I apologise for the delay.”
Why can’t you give us explanations about the delay for FFVII in French??? It really is a lack of respect toward the french customers not to tell them why the entire world but them can get FFVII from the PSN.
If Sony would communicate a bit about this problem, it would help people understand and be more patient. On this point, Sony’s communication is very very bad, it remind me of Microsoft about the various issues with Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista.
Really disapointing, not only the absence of FFVII in the french store, but Sony’s communication first of all.
Posted on 16 June, 2009 at 10:35 am by Mike Kebby
I understand your concerns certainly, but it is not for me to discuss specific reasons behind delays, or problems that arise when trying to publish content onto the PplayStation Store. We are working away on the French version of FFVII and it is forthcoming, I won’t give a specific date, because if another problem occurs that will of course just frustrate you even further.
We always intended to release all versions at the same time, and I also want to point out that I have communicated via this blog about this problem on a few occasions, so I have done my best to keep you all in the loop. Thanks

Hi. After several attempts to add funds to my wallet and numerous phone calls to SCEE. I still cannot add funds to my wallet after almost two weeks. Do you have any ideas why this is. My Prepaid mastercard works fine. SCEE have taken multiple temporary authorisations from my account, proving the card works, yet I still can’t add funds to my wallet. The last time I added funds to my account was Jan 2009. I really want to get this working so I can purchase some DLC. I’ve tried everything Sony told me – but nothing seems to work. I can’t bekieve their servers are still jammed with people downloading DLC map packs.
Please help me.
