Xi: the secret is out!
The mystery behind Xi has finally been revealed. Today, for the first time, all visitors to PlayStation Home can discover the full truth about Xi, Jess and the alpha zones.
All the Xi spaces will stay live for a few weeks yet, so if you want to finish off any of the games and puzzles – or if you’ve never experienced Xi before – you still have a chance to play and explore.
When you’ve had your fill of mini-game goodness, you can go to the Xi Hub and face the story’s dramatic conclusion. Just make sure you’ve got everything you want out of the game, because once you’ve seen the ending, there’s no going back.
And if you already know how the story ends, no spoilers please! There are still a few people trying to collect those last few butterflies first…

I will only say this, great job, I think it really ignited the home community, which i think in the end it’s all the intention was. I highly enjoyed Xi.

It was awesome when it started. I just got tired of going on it every day for only a few minutes to play a little puzzle. Should of just put it out at the same time.

Hi oderlessmoss. The good news is that all the puzzles are unlocked now, so you can go in and binge on all the games and challenges you missed out on the first time round. Should keep you busy for a few hours.

Hi
Can you tell us when you are going to fix the keypad ?
Thanks
Posted on 11 June, 2009 at 5:57 pm by David Varela
The keypad in the Alumni Hub (for those of you who’ve finished Xi) will be fully operational after the next Home update on Thursday 18th. So remember the answer you found on that Alumni puzzle trail and be ready when Thursday comes around!

O BTW almost forgot to ask. I there any why I can get one of those cool Xi t-shrts
Posted on 11 June, 2009 at 6:10 pm by David Varela
The cool Xi t-shirt – and yes, it is extremely cool – is a reward for getting the sixth fragment (’Miguel’s Secret’). Just check the fragment menu on your HoloPAD for details.

ps: can i please have an old dusty Sony Bravia 32″ that you must have laying around as my HDTV is broken and i am poor *sob sob sob* i can no longer enjoy the wonderousness of Playstation.

Sorry I was talking about about the real Xi t-shirt like in the video at the end. ?!?!?
Posted on 12 June, 2009 at 10:58 am by David Varela
That stylish black t-shirt is *extremely* exclusive. You’d have to be a member of nDreams to get one of those.

This was one hell of an interesting concept. Home has changed the way I view internet involvement. Terrific.

I somehow thoght that XI would lead to a new big HOME feature or something. Was a little bit disapointed I only got some trophies for my appartment. But the concept was cool. A little bit too long for my taste.

loved Xi, and I’m one of the people not disappointed with the ending. It’s just hard to discuss anything here with you, without giving too much away to people who haven’t completed it yet.
I hope you’ll return for an article when Xi is closed and all can be discussed/questioned here.

Are we ever getting the announced inFamous items in Home? More specifically the Cole clothes. I thought all you needed to do is have the game in order to get it.

Posted on 12 June, 2009 at 7:00 am by Grind_Axis
@Bloody_Marcel: Australia is getting them in the Shopping Centre (or so I heard) so there might be a chance.
To stray from getting off-topic, i’m pretty excited about the keypad (even though the reward from it will most likely not be worthy of the hype).
Posted on 12 June, 2009 at 11:03 am by David Varela
Don’t get over-excited about the reward at the end of the Alumni Hub trail. It really is just a little thank you for taking part.
And speaking of thanks… we’ve just posted a new message on the nDreams blog which might answer some of your questions:
http://www.ndreams.co.uk/node/34
And if you want to be kept informed, sign up to the ‘nDreams’ group on facebook. Okay, that’s the plugging over with.

I wish that the XI spaces would just stay live permanently so I don’t have to rush. Has the problem with multiple PSN accounts been fixed yet as my family and I haven’t played it while waiting for it to be fixed.
Posted on 12 June, 2009 at 11:40 am by David Varela
I feel a little uncomfortable about speaking for the Home development team, so I can’t give you a definitive answer. All I know is that the Home save data system still applies to the *machine*, not to individual PSN IDs – so if you complete Xi on one account on your machine, it will assume all your PSN IDs have completed Xi. Unfortunately, only one set of rewards will be awarded, and those will go to whichever PSN ID was used when actually finishing the game.
And while not all the Xi spaces will be staying live forever, the new version of the Hub and all of Alphazone 1 – that’s the Maximum Tilt hoverbike racing game, the Hexopolis arena, and the text adventures – will be staying up for the foreseeable future. Alphazones 2 & 3, Maintenance and the White Hall will be taken down, but you have three weeks (or maybe more) to finish your Xi experience before then.

its a shame i deleted home for the HDD space (having 27 disc games with 14 needing 2-5 gig installs on a launch 60 takes its toll ya hear)

Posted on 12 June, 2009 at 1:38 pm by Staticneuron
Good thing the HDD is swappable. My launch 60 gig became a 320 gig, with the greatest of ease. Now I have plenty of space to squander.

Keep up being innovative.

I know you nDreams people are gonna start making a second Xi experience but that’s cool with me but why can’t we keep adding stuff to Home but stop taking them out, huh??
So that PlayStation Home becomes HUGE!!!
