Hello Adam, as most people have said the cost of this is a BIG factor for many people.

Pretty much, it’s like asking us to pay more for less features.

PSPGo sales are really going to be hurt by the cost.

I am wondering why even after cancelling UMD, the battery life is not improved.
and also, I know XMB works while playing games but can I play my own music while playing games? because otherwise, it seems pretty pointless to have that. PS3 on the other hand, at least can chat with friends.

My only complain with psp go is not the price, it is the bad button position, according to many reviews (hands on form E3), the buttons are hard to press due to their position and the small button size.

i think downloaded games is way overprice in PS Store like:

-Football Manager Handheld 2009 £30
-Tom Clancy’s EndWar £40
-Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 £32
and some rest…

UMD is cheaper then downloaded. i will stick with PSP 3000 with UMD.

i would buy if the price is right in PS Store.

You guys never give any specs on any PSP’s brightness. What good are the best graphics in the world if you cant even see them? Thats what it is like on the PSP right now, and thats why DSi will continue to outsale the PSP, even tho the PSP has better graphics then the DSi. People’s #1 feature they want is a bright enuff screen to see what there playing. It doesnt take a rocket scientest to figure that out. Just look at the DSi’s sales numbers. Does DSi have awesome graphics game better then PSP? Hell no. Its all about the screen brightness. laters

just 1 question. Is the PSPgo brighter then the PSP 3000? Just to give u guys a heads up, if the PSPgo is not as bright as the DSi, then you guys will always be 2nd best. The PSP’s screen brightness has always been its Achilles Heel. If u make the PSPgo with the exact same 5 brightness settings at the DSi, then u will finally be better then the DSi.

I’ve been looking forward to the PSPgo since the rumors of a UMD-less PSP started circulating a few months ago. I was a little unsure of the design when I initially saw low quality leaked photos. But after seeing decent quality pictures I think it’s a very sleek bit of kit; I want the white one.

I’m a great believer in digital media as I really do believe it is the future. However, how can you possibly expect the general public to embrace it when the cost of entry is so high. Had the GPS unit and camera been built in, the price would be more acceptable and worthy of the ‘premium product’ label Sony have given it. As it stands the current price is ridiculous especially considering the difference in the exchange rate. Currently $250 = £153ish and €250 = £211ish. Anything over £160 at retail and you’re having a laugh.

I’m also shocked and quite disappointed that there’s no Mac version of the Media Go software available. Sony are immediately alienating millions of potential customers by not supporting at least Intel based Macs running 10.5.X and above.

on the psp store, like on the Nintendo wii ?

That is a point I’ve been checkin’ all along but seems sony don’t even care about what the people, who makes them earn money, have to say about that.

And it gets even worst, I read somewhere that the big dogs in sony said that €249.99 is a good price for europe and that consumers think so too LOOOOOOL can you believe this BS!?

Just my comments. PPSgo 249 $ = 249 Euro? How about 1$=1,3949 EUR? 249 EUR =347,3288$
Any hefty price tag in EU?
The price for games? How about no physical disk and manual? So the price should be significantly below the “normal” price or?
How many times may i download an purchased game? How long will the game stay online and available for download? 1 year? Question no answers.
I remember the shutdown of DRM servers for my music library. That left me screwed with music i cant play anymore. But i have purchased it…
So chew on that.

I liked the way you dodged the last question… Im willing to bet it wont be sold at a competitive price (as in, £10 less than RRP) and once demand falls for UMDs (and thus price) then i just dont see how Sony will be able to sell Digital downloads cheap enough for the likes of me to want a PSPgo. Especially when its over priced at the start anyway! Hmm, let me think, an older PSP for under a £100… or the same bit of kit, just re branded for £200+?

Give it a few weeks/ months and i would bet that the older PSPs will be less than half the price.

What about older games? Sorry, but that is a very important thing and you neglect to make any meaningful comment on it. Seriously, I see no point to the PSPgo other than to boost your finances. The time/ effort would have been better spend branding the PS3 in the first place… And reviving the psps product life cycle in simpler ways (price cut)

I think a bad decision is the removal of the UMD drive – we’re all forced to download the games off of the Playstation Store. Many countries (especially us Aussies) have such low internet download allowances, so we’re screwed..

I really hope you’re gonna read and answer me this.
Have you guys concidered a HDMI video out ?

I live in Denmark where component cables are .. well they aren’t really used. So the only choice i have for using my psp with a tv is a AV cable.

The quality difference in the picture with using SD vs HD on a hdtv are pretty big, which is why I decided to ask this question.

I’ve been trying out Media Go with my PSP-2001, and already I’m scratching my head and wondering “what were they thinking??!!”

Converting any video from my PC’s library for the PSP to transfer it works fine – but Media Go *always* converts at a resolution of 720×480, way above what the PSP can display. This doesn’t appear to be able to be changed.

The result is that a single music video running 3 minutes 54 seconds is 165MB big.

I call software design fail on this one. Back to the drawing board for Media Go

€250 is fair… is it as fair as €178 which is the US price point equivalent? your going to pay nearly 100 euros more for something with less services in Europe. this isnt me moaning or complaining i just dont see how you can consider it fair?
