Hi everyone, my name is Dominic Matthews and I’m a European Product Manager at Capcom.
As some of you may have seen on PlayStation.Blog.US there is a new update coming soon for Bionic Commando Rearmed, which includes Trophy support. I’m happy to confirm that this update will also be coming to the SCEE region. Although we can’t put a precise date on when the update will be live, it is currently in QA so should be released really soon.
In addition to Trophy support the update includes:
- New “Normal” difficulty setting, which includes the following changes:
- When you die you respawn at the last solid ground or checkpoint
- The level Albatross B is cut
- The ability to reel out the cable when hanging or swinging to its full length
- If the player swings into a wall, they will no longer always disconnect and be thrown away from the wall. Instead they will keep connected and reel in.
- Unlimited lives
- Super Joe Machine Gun bug fix
- When upgraded, the weapon becomes more powerful in addition to the larger clip. This is fixed for all difficulties.
As mentioned over on PlayStation.Blog.US, this update really came about because of the conversations and feedback between Capcom and the community on the PlayStation Blog and Capcom forums. The moral of the story being that open communication can lead to better games! Whilst we’re not always able to follow up on all requests, we are listening to what the community is saying.
Thanks for all the feedback and involvement so far. Please keep it up!

BCR was a game I never really put enough time into, with the new update though I might go back and give it another try, especially since it’s been made abit easier

If only blast factor trophies would hurry up it would be a good time to play it again.

Great news indeed, trophies for a great game. Iam buying this game now. And thx again for listning to the community and not doing the same misstake as the Saints Row 2 team did with ignoring all reauests for trophies.

I am happy to see that you add trophy support to this game. To tell you the truth, I have not bought this game yet, not because of the lack of trophy support, I just do not have enough time to play all these games. But now as the trophy patch is coming, I will make some time for me to buy & play this game.
I was very happy with the demo you released quite a time ago, and will not be satisfied with the full game, unless it brings me all the fun and joy as did the original NES game.
( I am a huge fan of the original Bionic Commando on NES, and was very happy to see you will bring this great classic to the new consoles also. )

Trophy Support? Really? You mean you’ve finally got round to delivering it? I thought I shouldn’t hold my breath so long as it was announced aaaages ago. THANK YOU! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Are they hard to get?

Well done Capcom. More than anything, it’s probably best that you don’t announce things in the future unless they are definitely coming. But fair play for getting it sorted. I’ll be more than happy to play the game again, especially as some of the tweaks seem to have made the game a bit more forgiving.
Next up, we want Powerstone on PSN and some of your classic scrolling beat ‘em ups, E.g. The Punisher. Get it sorted

Seriously what is up with not giving out any beta codes for this game – your sisterblog is doing it… can it really be true that SCEE can’t get codes to a game their are a part of ?? i really wanna try out this game.

This is great news.
i got the game early on, held off playing it as had others to get through first.
Then they confirm a trophy patch…. then months later the developer says sorry we ran out of time on the Blur ray version so won’t be doing a patch….. Now we get the good news again!!!!
Good to see hear, can’t wait to get stuck into this at last.
But SCEE.. Where is Blast Factor, The Last Guy etc…….!!!!!!!

Too Little Too Late
In fact..due to the direct actions of John Diamonon on the US blog…Capcom won’t ever be seeing a dime from me…Gamestop for any Capcom game I want.

That’s a good start, especially with it coming at the same or close to the same time as the US.
A little off topic BUT…
How about getting trophy patches for The Last Guy and Blast Factor over here… is it too much to ask…

Hey andrewr4 – we’ve been getting lots of questions about the Blast Factor and Last Guy trophy updates. We’re checking out a few things but should have an update for you next week.

Great news, slightly off topic, but I wish Capcom would add trophies to Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD and Mega Man 9, I’m thinking about getting Mega Man 9 but if it had trophies I’d buy it right now. Any chance on these games?

Excellent work.
I only play BC rearmed sometimes but my 4yr old loves this game and plays it all the time.
He’s completed it numerous times, and once this patch is out. I’m sure it’ll be numerous more….
Now, we just need that Last Guy Update aswell, and everything will be swell.
Any ETA on this Patch for BC- Rearmed?

This new “normal” difficulty troubles me slightly, namely the removal of part of the Albatross stage. Will this new “normal” difficulty outright replace the original “normal” difficulty, or will it be a separate entity?
