Hi there. My name’s Corrie and I work in the SCE-UK office as a Product Manager. I’m here today to give you all a glimpse at what we’re up to at the 2009 Glastonbury Festival this weekend.
For three years, PlayStation has sponsored the Queen’s Head stage in conjunction with Q magazine, and we’re back at the festival again this year but now the Q tent has moved to it’s very own new field for 2009, called “William’s Green”.
The guys at Q magazine have hand-picked some great new talent to play live on stage in the Queen’s Head, with Maximo Park the opening act at 4pm on Thursday, and we’ll also have an immense PlayStation AV backdrop. Here’s the full line-up for the weekend:
Located next to the Q Tent, and new for 2009, is The Snug. Set within a fantastic PapaKåta tent, you can chill-out throughout the day listening to live acoustic sets and dance the night away as the DJs keep you moving into the early hours of the morning.
If you want to do more than listen to music, each day you could be one of four performers to strut your stuff in the SingStar Snug and send the revellers into a frenzy on stage, all glam’d up with mirror balls and feather bowers. Make sure you visit the SingStar booths beside the Snug, enjoy a game of SingStar and possibly be one of the four performing acts.
If you couldn’t make it to the festival this year, keep an eye on our Flickr account and twitter feeds for news and pictures from the green fields of Worthy Farm, and we’ll have a round-up on the blog for you early next week.
Have a great festival!
Corrie

Not going to Glasto, but nice nevertheless. Perhaps you could put some of the best performances on the store?

Hi guys,
We ran a competition in partnership with Guilty Pleasures to find the ultimate SingStar to perform live on stage Saturday night in the Queen’s Head.
Following this weekend at Glastonbury we’ll have a great vodcast to share. I’ll post the link here next week for you all to see.
Thanks

Nice to see Tom Middleton DJing in theSnug on Friday (well, Saturday morning).
Nothing better than a bit of Global Communication to help you get on the Rancho Relaxo.

Nice to get some info on the these types of PR events, before the EU blog I didn’t even know PlayStation had anything to do with Glastonbury!
People call Sony for not paying millions for blanket TV advertising like their competitors, but although they have no where near the same advertising budget they do make good use of it with very targeted events and promotions…
I think it would be hilarious if you recorded these SingStar sessions and posted highlights on the PS Store for us all to have a laugh at!!!

will we be seeing any content on psn through psn store or home such as highlights etc?
Live streaming from the concerts would have been a great way to bring home users together like they did with E3 2009

I’d like to go just to laugh at people trying to sing on Singstar. Mind you, they’re probably all better than me lol.
