PlayStation @ “Donauinselfest 2009″ – Europe’s Biggest Open Air Festival In Vienna

Hi everyone, my name is Klaus Giller and I am the Marketing Manager for Austria at Sony PlayStation.

In addition to the events running at the Glastonbury Festival this weekend, I have the privilege to give you a glimpse of what Sony PlayStation is contributing to another festival this year: the 2009 Donauinselfest, or Danube Island Festival, which is the biggest open-air festival in Europe.

But, first of all, please send a prayer that the event will take place as planned because unfortunately the steady rain has caused some real havoc, as you can see below (that’s not me on the picture). However the event organisers and, of course, the brave PlayStation-lifeguards are all doing their best to prepare everything for a big party weekend.

The Donauinselfest will take place between today, Friday 26 June, and Sunday 28 June. With more than 1 million visitors each year, it is an awesome party with great music and great people. And of course Sony PlayStation will spare neither troubles nor expenses in order to give our party-people what they want. We will have a stage there, the “SingStar Discofieber”-stage, where each day from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. we will have SingStar-contests and the participants can win great prices, such as a PSP and a PS3. But of course in order to get the latter one you must beat my personal SingStar highscore! Only a few have so far And there’s also our SingStar double-decker bus, where you can play our latest games.

In the later afternoon various national and international bands will enter the stage and get the party started, and top-DJs will then round out a fantastic day. Here’s the program of events at a glance:
