As for playing Drake, another poster mentioned Nathan Fillion, who i didnt have a clue existed until i saw the incredibly underrated Serenity and his performance has stuck with me with that, i reckon he would play a fantastic Drake.

Nolan North = Voice Actor

Perfect for a CG based movie but not for a full live action feature. Previous live action roles include… well not much besides US soap General Hospital and bit parts in TV shows. Great voice actor but does he have what it takes to translate to the big screen?

Nathan Fillion = Actor

Only thing he doesn’t have going for him is the voice. Has experience on the big screen and also has that sarcastic wit which can be seen in his movies and more recently TV show Castle. Has a huge fan base that will pull in people who wouldn’t generally take a look at a video game adaptation.

Seann William Scott? I like he in “The Rundown”, he’s funny and not so bad in action movie…

Wow, quite fast for confirmation on this! Someone already mentioned David Boreanaz, that could seriously work, he’s fantastic. I think they have a great opportunity here though to keep as much of the original actors, composer, etc as possible though to not only make a great movie, but a rare opportunity to have it be loyal to the game.

I strongly wish they would stick with the voice actors for the film, Nolan North looks like Drake, but I can see it going the way of Nathan Fillion, Ryan Reynolds or even The Rock… Hopefully not, this may end up making a mockery of the game like DOA did…

They should get Jack from Lost (Matthew Fox) to play him. Or how about Eddie Cibrian from Third Watch? – he even looks like Drake!

Hmm….not sure if this will be any good as there is only two video game film adaptations which I think were VERY good. One was the original Mortal Kombat and the other is Silent Hill. Everything else was kinda crap!

But if they are going to do it anyway, they better use Nathan Fillion as he’ll be bloody perfect!

This film shouldn’t get made, infact let me go on record right now and say no videogames should ever be turned into films. Hollywood should instead start getting some creativity instead of just leaching off the video game and comic industry like it has these past few years.

But, seeing as this is going to happen regardless, and how it’s going to BOMB, I’m going to pick Nolan North, I want Drake to play Drake, simple as. Anyone else simply wont do,

Every game to movie adaptation I’ve seen I’ve been disappointed with, so my hopes aren’t high! But there’s definitely a film to be had from Drake’s Fortune, it was a cinematic game to start with.

Problem is you get a game that has a great story and great characters so movie studios think “oh that’s popular, let’s make a movie” and then proceed to completely pull it apart and alter it so it loses the things that made it popular to start with!

I understand there needs to be some changes to make it appropriate for a movie, but most of the key concepts were already in the game and don’t need changing!

As for casting I wouldn’t like to say, as long as they capture the wit and humour of all the characters they can’t go far wrong.

I’m curious why it has taken them so long though, this film won’t be out until 2011 at least I would think, so it’s possible PS3 onwers will be waiting for Uncharted 3 on PS3 and Uncharted 1 in the cinema! Given that Uncharted 2 is out soon to is there a possibility of a hybrid movie mixing the first two games like they did with Resident Evil, or is it just Drakes Fortune?

This is ridicolous… I thought there were already many “Uncharted” movies. They are called INDIANA JONES! Not a chance that “Uncharted: the movie” could be as popular as the original ones.

I think personally, all though i don’t know how his voice would play out is jake gyllenhaal, but besides that, Nolan north would be a good idea, only thing that might be a bit wierd is that he looked a bit old and too well built to play someone as awesome as nathan drake

If you look at a close up of his face and then close up of Nathan Drake. Pretty good match. I’d say voice too would be quite the same with a little practice. He’s amazing in Star Wars.

Nathan Fillion. Awesome in Firefly, great leading man material, and top lad.

Nolan North.. well… he’s not really going to get bums on seats, realistically… great man though.

I hope this film is going to be a lot better than previous game adaptations.

Just reading through peoples suggestions, and for me Joe Flanigan is the pick of the bunch. I didn’t even think of him when I was wondering who could do it, but now I’ve heard it I think it’s an inspired choice!

Going off Stargate Atlantis he has just the right sort of humour and comic presence needed to pull off Drake and has similar physical characteristics, he also has the build to pull off an action role – I think that would be a really good choice, depends if they want a big name star though…

Nolan North is the voice actor so obviously sounds like him and has a similar look to Drake thanks to the mocap, but having seen him on that E3 interview I don’t think he looks like an action movie star – maybe just give him a cameo!

As for Elena, again it depends if they want/need a big name to pull in the audiences, but Emily Rose is an obvious choice and unlike Nolan North see does have screen acting experience.

Actually the more I think about it the more I’m warming to the idea of Nolan North and Emily Rose, I think it would be quite interesting to see if the chemistry from the voice acting transfers to the big screen, and with all the mocap sessions they already know their characters – maybe that is the key to getting a successful game to movie cross-over… it could inspire the next gen of game to movie tie-ins!

Anyways, theirs a possiblity that it might not come to europe(UK)

Hugh Jackman could be an interesting choice for Drake’s role.

I agree with Zapachna666, lordbeagle, Raziel_Shanks, Salty500, Wright316uk, hedges1001, tealcsg1 and Apnomis. Joe Flanigan from Stargate Atlantis is perfect for the role, the moment I read this article, I thought Joe Flanigan would be perfect and was surprised to find a fair few people agree. As for Elena and Sully, can’t quite think of anyone yet, I’m sure I will though.
