Last week Sony let me tell you a little bit about Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and, more importantly, The Gathering Hall. If you recall, The Gathering Hall will be a drop-in centre for anyone that plays Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. Today I want to tell you a little more about The Gathering Hall, especially in light of the confusion in some of the comments in the last post.
Unfortunately, as the building is being decorated days before the opening I don’t have any imagery to share with you right now, but I can tell you that it’s going to be at 121 Charing Cross Road, London, WC2H 0EW. It’ll be open seven days a week, from 10am till 8pm (until 10pm on a Thursday), and will be accessible to anyone who has a PSP and a copy of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. It’s generously-sized and can fit several hundred people over three floors so you’ll always find someone to play with (including our staff, who are all keen Hunters). Most importantly it’s absolutely free.
Although we’ll be celebrating the grand opening on Friday 3rd July it’s my pleasure to be able to announce a sneak preview event on Thursday 2nd July that’s especially for you guys! The day before we open to the public we’ll be giving readers of this blog the chance to see the Gathering Hall early. You’ll be able to see some of the stunning Monster Hunter graffiti art on the walls and shop front and also get your hands on exclusive downloadable quests that won’t be available anywhere else. There’ll also be secret goodies for Monster Hunter fans and refreshments served. But mostly it’s about playing Monster Hunter the way it’s supposed to be played – with other people. And in a stunning Monster-Hunter-themed building at that.

Here’s the clue: You’re in the Great Forest on the trail of a fast Monster. From the tracks and the rusty-brown feathers left behind, you can tell that it is a bird-like creature and, as you start to catch-up with it, you see sleeping creatures lying around the trail.
Which Monster are you tracking? Consulting the Encyclopedia Gigantica might help.
Remember: email your answer to the address above; don’t put any spoilers into the comments.
Sony’s team of crack blog technicians will be on hand to select the lucky invitees for this event so flattering me personally will not necessarily help, but I don’t think it will harm your chances either
Thanks and good luck!

This would be sooooo cool if I could go, too bad I don’t have a PSP any more. Waiting for the PSP go before I get a new one.

Are we going to see Adhoc Party for PSP released over here as well? Otherwise it’ll be very difficult for people to play co-op and I’m sure we can’t be bothered downloading the Japanese one!

All heil the power of the hunter!!!!
PS3 version would be good yes….but hal;f the charm is having it on the psp. Whenever im travelling up and down the country its a nice change to be able to play a game of its calibre and graphical-ness anywhere i may be.

We could use some Adhoc Party. As far as I have seen, people are more interested in getting Adhoc to work than actually finding other players.
Great stuff for the UK hunters anyway.

When will Monster Hunter Freedom Unite be released on the EU PS Store, as it has been on the US one?
I won’t buy it until I can download it and thereby eliminating the need to buy it again when I get the PSP Go.

Went to the Gathering Hall today, looks awesome, lovely people, and a lot of fun questing with other people which isn’t too easy normally. Hopefully I get some chances to get back there
Thanks Playstation Blog!
I think Leo said something about goodie bags… I hope I misheard him and I didn’t just leave without one! D’oh!
Awesome though, everyone should go there.

Been there thanks to the PlayStation Blog, it was real nice! Cool peeps, awesome graffitis on the walls, and quests done with someone real (and not your Felyne, nya) does make the game different and better! I really, really liked the moment there, those reading my post, go and see yourself
I wish I was living in London to spend some times there, but as I told them, maybe I’ll come back to say hi and hunt together, but dedication is expensive when outside of London
