Hello all, I’m back for another week of PlayStation Store fun! As seems quite fitting after a couple of slower weeks on the store, this week’s update is absolutely crammed with content.
We have four PSN games up for grabs, from our very own Numblast, to the comic-inspired shooter Punisher: No Mercy, as well as the old-school classic James Pond: Robocod. We have plenty for PSP owners too, with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite available digitally, as well as the PSP version of Numblast amongst other things.
We’ll also have a special publish on Friday morning for the digital PSP version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (which should be available around mid-morning).
Add to all of that content such as the Expansion Speed pack for MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, a hearty amount of additional content for you PS3 Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 fans and LBP’s Sacktue of Liberty costume. There’s also another trailer for Battlefield 1943, which will be released next week (I’ve just read the review in my copy of Edge magazine today and it was given a healthy 9/10) so check that out if you haven’t already taken a look at this game. We also have plenty more Batman Arkham Asylum trailers on the store this week too, and this game is really looking like a good one.
Phew…I think that should be enough to keep us all busy for a week!

So, I discover that you deleted my comment… was not insulting, just saying that, as an old sony consumer, I was disappointed… But it seems like we can’t say these kind of things here… I don’t think you can progress with people saying “Sony, you rock” all the time, but if you think so…
Well, I will repeat what I said in different words, because I can’t accept censure : you should have explained about the absence of Trine on the psn. We can accept a game to be delayed, but the least you can do in this case is to say why.
If you want users to buy games from the playstation store, then give a demo for each of them, as on xbox live.
We should have the same games and prices as the us and japanese store (I know that there are taxes in France that explain part of the difference, but It doesn’t explain the whole difference). And, when games arrive here so late, you should explain, and apologize if it is your own fault.
Well, I guess you won’t read what I say, and maybe delete it. I don’t know, since you had no reasons to delete the first one…

The punisher is not worth it if you have -insert generic FPS- already

Not a good update in my opinion.
It looks like a lot but the downloadable games are too expensive and most of the other content is EA add ons which are unreasonably priced.
I bought Pain before, none of the add ons and the COD 4 map pack but that’s it. I’ve never even been nearly tempted by anything else.

People with complaints are a thousand times more likely to put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard) than people with praise. The important thing to remember is that there are not a thousand times as many people with complaints as there are people with praise.
Now, about that Last Guy trophy patch and DLC pack………

I don’t know why yourself and people on here are saying your job must be so difficult listening to complaints and reply etc.
From what I have seen here is a summary of your replies:
I can’t comment on that one
That release period should never have been given
It will be here soon
The 3rd party developer will be on the blog to talk about that one
As soon as I have that info I will share it
I’ll ask (someone else) that question
I’m hoping to bring news soon, be patient
It’s the 3rd party developers fault and so on and so on.
Oh why thank you, I think calling me sir should be compulsory.
I’m afraid that this blog is turning out to be just another marketing tool fronted by toothless and clueless PR people who are still shackled heavily by SCEE, exactly like Threespeech it is turning out to be a complete waste of time.
Posted on 6 July, 2009 at 9:11 am by Mike Kebby
I don’t believe I ever said anything about my job being ‘difficult’, also contributing to the blog is a new addition to my job role, so I’m coming on here because I WANT to. I respond to your questions because I’ve been asked to, but also because I WANT to engage with SCEE customers.
Also, if you can’t ascertain the tone used in my comments let me be very clear – I will answer whatever questions I have the answers to (or am allowed to share information about), if not I will go away and find out what I can say here on the blog. As for your assumption that I really want readers to call me sir, that was a very flippant response by me, made in jest – sorry you believe me to be conceited enough to really want that to be what I am known as here on the blog.
I also don’t work in PR – I am part of the store management team, so I’m not exactly shackled

tbh playstation updates are a bit mediocre and really think that much thought should be put in when releasing updates. Wheres MGS1 on psn??? Fat Princess???. Really and the whole xmb interface is good but i do think it needs an overhaul in design for casual gamers to make it more accessible and appealing. Voice Chat is dearly needed and its online service is damaged severly as ppl barely except for . As a PS3 owner i love it and have bin loyal since the PS1 but beginning to question its performance although Playstation games are better and great titles the online aspect esp in the uk needs help and also a video store is needed. Come Playstation pull your finger out

I would really like to see a demo of topatoi.I like puzzlers and platformers so this seems the game for me. But i really don’t want to take the chance. I’ve looked on the internet for gameplay videos and I can’t find none. Just a trailer that just not much.

mike just please put mgs1 in the realm of fact 4 wks of not knowing we are all desperate to play it , you get a lot of stick & it is unfair but if we got something to aim for everyone would leave it , but cos we r waiting for answers it gets intense put it to bed mike i think we wont see it till at least october when psp go comes out…..
Posted on 8 July, 2009 at 9:59 am by Mike Kebby
Unless it has been properly announced that a game is coming, then you should never expect a game to release on the store. I think a lot of the upset caused to consumers comes from rumours about games releasing on the store.
Until somebody says to me that MGS is definitely coming to our store, then I cannot confirm for you all, therefore unless you hear otherwise it may be best to presume it is not coming, and then hopefully we can at some point give you better news.

I don’t often reply/comment on things like this but the Tiger Woods updates are an absolute and utter disgrace. What you’re saying is that if you want to play better then you need these clubs. EA (and Sony) you should be ashamed of yourselves. I’ve been enjoying this demo for quite some time with my girlfriend suggesting we buy it. Reviews have been fairly strong so the money was going to leave my wallet within the next couple of months.
However, I’ve decided to give the game a miss as a protest to what you’ve just done.
I completely understand the money to be made with microtransactions and DLC but this is in a different league.
Once again… disgraceful.

Oh… one more thing. Sony – aren’t you a film studio too? The PSN is the perfect place to push your films with HD trailers but you seem to have completely forgotten about this.
Now I have that off my chest I can calm down and smile once more. *phew*
