Hello all. I thought I’d take some time to make you aware of some of the highlights coming to the PlayStation Store this summer. There is a nice list of content below for you to check out, but there will also be plenty more to come over the coming months too – this is just a small snippet for you.
You will notice here that I have made no mention of specific release dates; I just want to avoid any upset if dates did change. My aim today is just to give you the ‘heads-up’ for some of the content you should be expecting to see in the summer months on the store.
Battlefield 1943
The fight for Pacific domination begins as Battlefield’s award winning online vehicle warfare explodes onto PlayStation Network.
Fight on the ground, take to the skies, or command deadly tanks, all in the aim to take defeat the enemy. Fight as the US Marines or the Imperial Japanese Navy in this online shooter set in the beautiful Pacific Islands – although they won’t stay like that for long.
Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage
Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders. Gain access to unique armor, weapons, and exotic gadgets while you build and command interactive Strike Teams to win the battle and defeat the Chinese base.
Bomberman Ultra
One of the pioneers of the ‘party-game’ genre, Bomberman is an all-time classic and will be a welcome addition to the PSN Store family! You can compete in eight player online matches, or play with friends at home via local multi-player across 14 exotic arenas. Bomberman Ultra also gives you a vast range of customisable options, so your Bomberman character can be truly unique.
Zombie Apocalypse
Combining zombies, up to four players and a nicely varied arsenal of weapons, this game pits you against wave after wave of zombies in the aim to protect civilians for a set time limit. Join the fight against the walking dead!
TV Show King
Test your brains against friends and family by answering from thousands of fun and challenging questions in this virtual TV quiz show. Play for fun, or to test your general knowledge skills, and for the ultimate challenge play online against players from all over the world. With various modes, and question categories, there is endless fun to be had.
Shatter
Crossing retro brick-breaking action with modern gameplay mechanics, this PlayStation exclusive title features innovative controls, physics effects, boss battles, and various game modes. Shatter is bound to keep you coming back for more.
Also on the horizon is a new puzzle game called Trine, voted by Gamespot as the ‘Best Downloadable’ game of E3 2009, and new content for Savage Moon. I’ll try and update you guys more often on titles coming to the PlayStation Store when possible, but don’t forget that the developers will also be posting directly to the blog to update you on forthcoming titles (which is where you can ask questions directly to them). So make sure you keep coming back to the blog to see what we’ll be bringing for you to the store!

Its not the right topic but..maybe Mike knows someting about it.
Why there is no Warsaw in Life with PlayStation? There is big hole between Berlin and Moscow. It looks silly.

Mike…
Please, please, PLEASE speak to someone at SCEE about getting a better storefront for making these PSN games easier to find….aka Xbox Live Arcade.
It’s so difficult to find Flower, Trash Panic etc that sometimes you just can’t be bothered and give up.
Putting PSN games in one place on the storefront would make it a tonne better.

I don’t really give a damn about most arcade games apart from Fat Princess at the moment. Where the hell is Qore by the way? I have dying to get my hands on it for a whole year, and still, it’s not available. I would place a year’s subscription as soon as it first hits the UK store.

Mike, do you know anything about Rock Band: Unplugged being released on PSS as download? I can buy it at my retailer store, but I want it downloadable!
Thank you for your answer.

Hi!
You are doing a wonderful job, keeping us up to date.
How many PSN-stores are there in the EU?
I’ve heard there are about 24 or 27 different PSN-stores, is this true?
Do every game or DLC have to be admitted and approved to every PSN-store for it to be released?
Last year some big boss (!) in SCEE said that they were streamlining the approving and admitting so that we in the EU would be getting an improved PSN-store and not this constant waiting.
What happened to this?
I have yet to see this come to fruition.
Would love to hear some answers to my question.

To give you some answers, we have 29 storefronts across 25 countries (including countries as far reaching as Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand), and the publishers can decide which of these stores they release content on (we do advise as many as possible).

Only I had my heart set on playing Fat Princess. Nevermind!

Mike, any news on this announcment from last year:
Future, the special-interest media group, today announces that it has signed an agreement with Sony Computer Entertainment UK (“SCE UK”) to create an on-console, weekly digital magazine available exclusively through the PlayStation®Network.
The digital magazine will enable gamers in the UK to download interactive, high definition editorial content directly onto their PlayStation 3 consoles from the PlayStation Network – a first for the UK games industry. The pioneering weekly product will be available to UK PlayStation 3 owners in early 2009 and is expected to subsequently roll-out to other European territories.

Once we have some confirmed information you’ll be sure to know Apnomis

I can’t freakin’ wait for Bomberman and Zombie Apycalypse to come to the EU PSN. Well, at least I’ve got my 3V card to go through with all this until those PSN cards eventually come out (probably when the PSP Go! releases. Seriously, I don’t see that being much of a success without the cards, becides the price).

.::: Looking good, but… Any idea when are we going to get Pre-pay Cards? A lot of my friends don’t have a credit card (it’s not that common to have one in the Netherlands). Without my friends Bomberman Ultra is going to be a bit lacking to say the least.

Posted on 3 July, 2009 at 4:21 pm by Arki24885
Do want Bomberman, but it will cost more than 7 euro I don’t buy it. I think that more of the game prices are much expensive… Please… I hope it don’t cost so much (10$-10€).

Hello again Mike,
Thanks for the reply. Must say you are doing a sterling job, kudos to you. I wish there were more people at SCEE and SCE in general like you, willing to take the time to respond to customers.
Regarding my previous query, I have BP on my HDD so I was perplexed why Sony didn’t follow through with other 3rd party titles, it was something I’ve been advocating but they kind of dropped the ball and Microsoft have picked it up. Hope you can get a response on this anyway as I’m sure lots of people would like the option of getting those full games from PSN.

if only there was some kind of magical card people could buy instead of using a credit card.

Battlefield and Fallout DLC for me. It would be great if you released a demo for every game on the psn store so one don´t have to “buy the pig in the sack” as we say in sweden

Hey does anyone know if the Fallout 3 DLC lets you carry on after the ending?
Dan
Posted on 6 July, 2009 at 8:58 am by Mike Kebby
It’s the third DLC pack (Broken Steel) that allows you to reach a new level cap (30) and continue playing after the ending. No specific release date for when this pack will launch on the PSN as yet though.

Bethesda said the first Fallout 3 expansion would be coming to PS3 near the end of June, and now it’s July. Uugh. Every Thursday I get all excited for nothing. *sobs*
So, NEXT WEEK RIGHT? NEXT WEEK? Oh well if it’s not next week at least i’ll have Battlefield 1943 to keep me entertained.
Oh oh, while i’m commenting, what’s the word on the Adreniline Expansion for Motorstorm? I’m talking release dates. Also wether or not there’ll be a new mini-festival like in Speed (though it’s hardly mini with 46 events!).
Not that I expect you to have ALL the answers.

“It’s so difficult to find Flower, Trash Panic etc that sometimes you just can’t be bothered and give up.”
The games have an A-Z section which is broken up into 2-3 letters at a time… how hard could it be?

No Trine, No Fat Princess… Ofc… Why to release games ppl want if you can release games people dont have any idea about – just like Topatoi… there is no reviews/videos of gameplay/demo just screenshots on the site which shows exactly how the game is playing! WoW! Truly unexpected!
