I know for many of you this week couldn’t come soon enough (myself included), as this week sees the release of the brilliant Battlefield 1943. For those of you who enjoy a good session of online multiplayer shooter action, this is a great new addition to the genre, and set against such beautiful backdrops too.
This week we also have two demos available for you to try, we finally have Ghostbusters on the store (a game which needs no introduction from me), and we also have a demo for the epic racing game Fuel.
The second expansion pack for MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is available this week too, as well some extra content for Skate 2, High Velocity Bowling, Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, and as usual extra tracks for Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band. There are also a handful of additional PSP games available for download now too.
Right, off to the battlefield!
Downloadable Games (Trial and unlock)
Battlefield 1943 (Trial free, unlock key £9.99/€12.99)

You can also call in, and guide airstrikes upon the enemy bases and choose from a range of weaponry to gain the upper hand on the enemy team and win the day.

Nice update, will be getting BF and Fuel demo as soon as I can
Sir Kebby of Awesomton…
Whatever happened to OPM HD? There was a website where you get notified about it’s release, and possibly win a free copy of Kilzone 2.
And what about Spyro. I know you must get sick of me asking but it’s the game that got me started on PS1, would be great to have it with me on my PSP. I used to kick names and take ass with that game
OK, I’ll stop with the obscure Unforgotten Realms quotes :p

Woo, Battlefield 1943 is cheaper than I thought. Since it’s $15, I figured it’d be €15, as often happens. Woo!
And two demos too. Don’t let anyone say this week’s a bad update, Mike!

Still no sign of Bomberman, MGS1, EU video store.
What the hell is going on?
EU video store was announced at E3 ’08, and yet here we are over a year later and still no sign of it.
Are Sony EU hoping we forget and as a result not bother releasing it?
As for Bomberman and MGS1, titles that have been around for a while now, and yet today sees the simultaneous release of Battlefield on the US and EU stores.
So, simultaneous releases only slide for some games and not others?
Give me a break Sony EU and start treating your European consumers with some respect please.
