I know for many of you this week couldn’t come soon enough (myself included), as this week sees the release of the brilliant Battlefield 1943. The second expansion pack for MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is available this week too, as well some extra content for Skate 2, High Velocity Bowling, Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, and as usual extra tracks for Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band. There are also a handful of additional PSP games available for download now too.

@Mike
The Punisher is the worst game I’ve ever played, including free games here!
Do you not have any quality control on PSN games you release, especially as it is only on PSN.
I will never put another penny on my account as of last week! Sony is so backward in its running!
1. BF1943 should cost £9.05 at the current exchange rate!
2. Downloadable content is tax free! So theres no reason for boosted fees!
3. Why do other regions get more content and earlier releases!
4. Why do Sony charge me £145 to fix aproblem they created! I got YLOD even though I followed the instruction manual to the word! I mean, £425 is a rip off for electrical goods that only last two years! Which means Sony is breaking the Sales of goods act!
This is the last Sony product I will ever own!

Hail, Sir Kebby of SCEE.
I have a feature request.
I have a habit of forgetting to check for new messages when I come back to my PS3 after being away for a short time – so I sometimes don’t notice new messages for hours. So:
I request some sort of constant reminder for unread messages – like a simple small envelope in the top corner. I would think most users would appreciate it but there are always haters so maybe an option to turn it off and on would be good too so it doesn’t annoy anyone.
I don’t know how hard it would be to implement such a feature but I thought I’d put the idea out there anyway. I would be most appreciative if my request was relayed to the team that deals with such things for their consideration. Apologies if such a request has been made previously.
Thanks.
- David

Oh, wow, what a great update.
..
Are you being serious, Sony? Is this a joke? Cause its not funny.
Oh look, Battlefield. Yay. Oh look, more music DLC. Yay. Oh look, Demos. Yay.
Fallout 3 DLC? MGS? Do you think SONY EUROPE COULD ACTUALLY STICK THEIR DAMN FINGERS OUT FOR ONCE AND GIVE US SOMETHING TO CHEER ABOUT, RATHER THAN THE WORST UPDATE WE’VE HAD IN WEEKS, CONSISTING OF THE BARE MINIMUM OF DLC AND DEMOS?!?!
Sweet Jesus, SCEE, gimme a good reason I should keep buying you if this is the best you can come up with.
Pathetic update.

Now that we have something to spend money on we only need a way to actually pay for it. PSN cards would be good, don’t you think.

Also, any word on the Disgaea 3 trophy patch, i’m not playing it anymore until we over in the EU zone get it. Word is SCEA are dumping it out next week, when do we get the goods?

Hey good update!
I do have a question though, on the Store, when reading the details for a theme it give you instructions on how to use the theme. But the instructions are totally wrong!
It tells you to install it via the Game catagory then press triangle on it to apply it to the XMB.
When themes install themselves and you choose them via the Theme sub catagory under settings. Has anyone noticed this at SCEE? I think it’s poor the instructions are wrong about your own system.
Posted on 10 July, 2009 at 9:38 am by Mike Kebby
It has been noticed and is going to be rectified soon, most of our themes have the correct instructions, but a few do have incorrect ones. Sorry for the inconvenience.

@ Samii
Yeah i hear you. I got the Yellow Light of Death too and i too got charged (200€) by Sony to repair it, and it was LESS THAN TWO YEARS after i bought it. Not exactly what i thought when i spent 600€ on a console.
And then, they sent me a faulty ps3 as the “repaired” one, so i had to send it back. So in the end i was for 2 months without a ps3 and also now i can’t download the SingStore songs i had bought, because they are linked to the serial number of my original ps3. Nice, huh?

Hey Mike, i just read your response for Crash 2 on the store.
Legal issues? Thats bad, but don’t Sony own Naughty Dog? And why Crash 2 if Crash 1 and 3 and Crash CTR are on?

We’ve been waiting for PSN cards in Europe for months but still havn’t got any planned release date from SCEE. I think someone from Sony recently said that we may get a different payment option similar to the cards. Any news about this Mike?

@ Mike – whats the word on the low server count for Battlefield 1943? There were known issues with the xbox version so EA announced they had corrected the problem for the ps3 version by immediately adding servers, yet im still waiting 30 minutes for a game?
Posted on 10 July, 2009 at 9:40 am by Mike Kebby
I think EA were prepared for the PS3 version , seeing as they had problems for that ‘other format’ on Wednesday, I was playing quite a bit last night and had no issues jumping straight into games – anyone else?

Hey Mike, thanks for the update as usual
I know i’m becoming a stress but… the US people just got this week the confirmation that on July 16th Disgaea 3 will get the Trophy patch in their region. Do you have any answer from NIS/Square about us “stepchilds of the PAL region” about the patches and DLCs for this beautiful game for us aswell in the near future?
Thanks a lot, i keep asking cause i have faith that after all Sony thinks that all the customers have the same rights regardless the region of their blue-ray disks
.
Actually i think that Sony should enforce the release of the same DLCs and Patches (provided they obey to country laws of course) all over the world if a game it’s distributed all over the world in the first place.
And happy week-end

Well, I was angry last week and I said it. This week, I’m quite satisfied, so I have to say it too.
This week, it’s what I call a good update. Why ? First, two very great songs for this fantastic game that is Rock Band Unplugged. And we have demos for ps3/psn games, and this is what I’m waiting for. Unfortunately, psp games of the week don’t have a demo, so I won’t buy any of them.
But good job !

Since Resident Evil 1 and MGS1 were released on the US store I have been eagerly awaiting their arrival on the UK store, but still no sign. There is even a review for MGS in the Playstation magazine!!
PS3 wise, great update. I was hoping for a GB demo to try it out before buying it. Also Battlefield looks pretty cool. Also an awesome Skate 2 add on.
Hopefully we’ll get some better PS1 classics soon or ill have nothing to play on my PSP Go.

@Gambe1984- Is anyone else having problems logging on to the EA servers for Battlefield 1943?
143
Posted on 9 July, 2009 at 8:10 pm by FFObsessed
Thanx for asking about Metal Gear Solid, Mike. Also don’t forget about Resident Evil! Those have been announced for the US but not EU.
I just want more content on the PSP store since my PS3 died, waiting for the slim, I’m not paying £145 for a refurb especially as I was one of the fans that bought it at launch.
I assume we’re going to have to wait for the PSPgo until we get some decent updates, but I don’t understand why more publishers aren’t putting up UMD Legacy and PS1 games up now rather than waiting for PSPGo launch. Hopefully after the PSPGo comes out the PSP updates will improve dramatically or that system will be a disaster.

@112 (and everyone else who’s complaining)
What is your problem? This update is alright, it’s not superb but you can’t expect every week to have amazing content. And it’s not SCEE’s fault that content such as the Fallout 3 DLC isn’t available, that’s Bethesda’s! So stop berating them every week!! The fact that content gets released on the US store a lot earlier is also not their fault, but that annoys me too, though there isn’t much you can do about it unfortunately
And what the hell are you talking about when you say
“Sweet Jesus, SCEE, gimme a good reason I should keep buying you if this is the best you can come up with.”
are you buying SCEE :S?? The PSN is free, and I for one am thankful for that. And for a free service I think they do pretty well.
Phew, I look forward to playing Battlefield and seeing what’s in store next week (and all the abusive comments you get ’cause it’s not good enough lol)
*sigh*
