I know for many of you this week couldn’t come soon enough (myself included), as this week sees the release of the brilliant Battlefield 1943. There are also a handful of additional PSP games available for download now too.

ITS NOT THAT HARD REPLY AT KEAST
Posted on 10 July, 2009 at 9:43 am by Mike Kebby
As I replied last week, we only store file size information for PSP content – I do not have the time (or anyone else on the team for that matter) to download every piece of content to take note of the filesizes I’m afraid. (The blog updates are an addition to my already large job role anyway, so I can’t spare the time). Sorry, I know it would be useful for you, and I’m trying to find a solution to getting easy access to filesizes so they can appear on the store.

filesizes are unimportant when you get ~10gb for 1 euro these days.

Nice update
I only miss a better organization, and I want to remember it hoping once we have an organization like the US one, for example one for only demos, only psn exclusive games, only full games… those things are very useful and I think they are even imperative in a service like this one.
I guess you have to recognize that aspect of the store could be much better for users.

To get Mercury, or not to get mercury..? THAT is the question
such a difficult one too.. still making my way through FF7 and free running and tokobots both look like fun.. hum..
easy choice for dad: he gets Battlefield, that should satisfy the ps3
Great update, ps3 AND psp will have content tummys
ty everyone!

I keep reading people saying it’s a bad update… I guess some people confuses “nothing I like” with “bad update”. Sometimes I don’t see anything I’m interested but I can recognize there are good things.
What I think is you should try updating at least one PSOne game each week.
Well, I just wanted to complete my last message, I really think it is a good update.

Hate how the 1943 demo is timed, that’s a really bad idea, i only had 3 matches, and 1 that was lag free…needless to say, its fun, but i wont be buying.

Battlefield is only a consolation for the several recent let downs. You guys really need to get your [DELETED] together (not directed at you Mike, it seems you’re doing all you can).
And the fact that BF (a multiplat) can have a simultaneous US/EU launch but not Sony exclusives is quite irritating.
Posted on 10 July, 2009 at 9:46 am by Mike Kebby
We’ve had quite a lot of games released over the past few weeks, I realise that people want certain games, but if they are not available yet I’m afraid we can only give you what has been submitted and is ready.
I understand your frustration certainly though.

Nice update Sony/Mike, i’ve been looking forward to busting some ghosts! Do you know if there are any plans for any inFamous dlc?
Keep up the good work!

Im still rather annoyed by the lack of Fallout DLC. Dont get me wrong. I have a great time searching the Capital Wasteland but Im getting annoyed by PS3 being left out of all the fun PC and Xbox’s get.
Its gone way past the end of June guys at Bethesda. Get it on cos PS3 is waiting and being fairly patient considering.

Again the US has 2 new PS classics and again Europe has “zero”. The teasing is really getting old SCEE! Other than that amazing update. Finally demo’s *hallelujah*.

An ok update i guess but when can we get more information on PixelJunk Shooter, Fat Princess, a release date for MGS1, etc.
Its been a long time since i bought anything off the PSN (last game i bought off PSN was Burn Zombie Burn) so it is a little frustrating to see the US get content that i want to buy but cannot for no reason.

First time poster. Great update, although actually what to download for battlefield was a bit confusing.
Downloaded the motorstorm update as well but I haven’t have a chance to go over that yet. Seems odd that they would release both updates one after another. Surely spreading the gap between them would give people time to get dive into both fully and also extend the life of the game.
Anyway I’ll hopefully be back on 1943 tonight, getting confused as to why my planes always lose altitude after a couple of seconds. Add me if you like.

Wow, another pathetic PSP selection.
So far I’ve bought 3 games from the PSN Store – FFVII (great), Syphon Filter Combat Ops (only manages to connect to a game very rarely) and Syndicate Wars (poor emulation, terrible controls).
I want my money back on those last two!
I can’t believe Europe still gets such dreadful treatment from Sony… sort it out guys!

Hi Mike
You’ve a stronger constitution than I. Questions you’ve answered several times. People complaining about games from third parties not being released….. I’m thinking that may be it would be good to have some place where people can ask these questions. A FAQ section so people can see if the question has been asked 50 times already. It would also give people the oppurtunity to ask about patches etc… that wouldn’t normally be relevant to the blog post.

Has anyone donwloaded TAPATOI???? I can’t find as single gameplay video nor reviews on the whole internet…only the teaser trailer that doens’t show much…I’m interested but at the same time it feels as this game doesn’t even exists…like a pishing website…
Not even PS official website say much about this game? What’s going on? …the preview in the PS Store contains only some screenshots.
When would be getting more info about the game??? Please answer, I’d like to buy it for my kids and myself, I love platformers

1 thing the PSN needs is more themes.
mike any chance of getting a theme or wallpaper of kratos removing helios head?
that was the best part of E3, no game has made me laugh that hard.

Another week’s update, and still no Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil: Directors Cut, Silent Hill, etc. You guys should hire someone soley to communicate with third party developers and get titles such as these to the EU stores in the same week as the US. It is not fair on us that we should have to wait MONTHS and then pay MORE for doing so!!!

Posted on 10 July, 2009 at 11:46 am by Harlequiine
I’m confused at people who say tell Sony to get their [DELETED] together and release more games. Now, if the content has been released in one region and not the other, I understand. But if the game is unfinished, how can they release it? They can only have so many teams working on so many video games at once.. otherwise we’d only have PSN games and no BD games. Just be happy with a new game every two weeks.
Unless it’s already in another region. Ahem, Worms in Australia.

LOL!
People calling me an Xbot! Unlike most of you I had the PS3 since day one and have never owned an Xbox.
It’s just blindingly obvious Sony don’t care one iota about its customers! They only give 3 month warranties for their replacement PS3′s which shows they have no faith! They have ended Continuous Play because they were getting inundated with cases of YLOD, which is the exact same as RROD, with solder and thermal paste melting!
They even discontinued the 60GB and 20GB because they rushed production of those models to compete with the growing 360 userbase. That rush ment they weren’t built properly!
Then there’s Sony’s regional bias, Sony’s overpricing of EU games (Only PJM is cheaper on EU Store), Sony’s lack of acceptance over poor build quality (M$ tripled the warranty of the 360 due to the exact same failure as YLOD).
Also, that isn’t a great update Mike! Only one PS3 game and its just a recycled game.
Posted on 10 July, 2009 at 3:23 pm by Mike Kebby
Well we’ll agree to disagree on what constitutes a good update then Samii – I think a couple of demos and a great game is a good update, you have to remember like any store, it’s not always possible to have a great line-up of new content every single week. Again though, everybody’s different, so we won’t be able to please everyone each and every week.
196
Posted on 10 July, 2009 at 4:14 pm by eothred
When will you release the video store? I am eagerly awaiting this! Should at least be easy for you to get licenses arranged for the movies from your own production company right?
And on a different note, have you considered making music applications for e.g. spotify and/or last.fm? It would be an excellent expansion for ps3 as the ultimate next generation multimedia console!

Posted on 10 July, 2009 at 4:31 pm by slayerking69
I agree with sammi these updates are not good. I think the only people that are happy are 10 year olds.
How hard is it to have a classic every week? the US store and asian stores get all the good stuff and we get lumbered with the rubbish, FF7 doesn’t make every update sony does great.
I’m sure out of the whole ps1 library you could find at least one you can add to the store every week, I really don’t believe that these companies don’t want to make money.

Thanks for the reply Mike. I think everyone giving him a hard time about the store updates needs to calm down.
I think the store updates are on the whole have been generally good over the last few months and with the amount of new content being added to Home now as another bonus.
Everyone please remember software/game devlopment takes time and the slightest thing can cause problems. I would rather have solid, no buggy software that is how it was intended as opposed to some rushed job just to get it out the door which keeps crashing my PS3. If it’s not ready it’s not ready.
Remember Sony don’t charge anything for PSN. For a similar service on Xbox you have to pay.
Also Battlefield rocks!
