Hello all. I know this update looks light on content, and I do apologise for that, but we do have more full games lined up for release in the coming weeks so please hang in there if there’s nothing of interest for you this week (I’m sure most of you are occupied enough with Battlefield 1943 – and if not, why not?)
For those of you who have yet to try Trash Panic, there is a demo now available, and after a long wait, the expansion patch (with additional trophies) for The Last Guy is now with us. I’m also personally very excited about the Eagles of Death Metal tracks and pack for Guitar Hero: World Tour, as they’re one of my favourite bands (saw them live a couple of weeks ago, and they were excellent, I couldn’t recommend them enough), plus we also have some snazzy Ghostbusters costumes to be had for LittleBigPlanet, and a couple of full PSP games in the shape of Tomb Raider Anniversary and Brothers in Arms D-Day.
I just want to let you know that there will be a delay in responses from me in the comments section this week, as I’m not in the office Thursday and Friday (birthday celebrations) but when I return on Monday I will read through them and reply as usual. Have a great weekend!

Question from the entire Russian-speaking PS3 community:
What about regional filling? Why in my local Russian PSN there is no DLC even for games with the children rating. For example Guitar Hero or Rockband or Prince of Persia. After all, these are games we have in local stores. Who regulates the difference in filling the shops?
ps. i apologize for my English.
and thank in advance for your reply

Could I just say that although this months update was disappointing for a first time PSP user (only a few weeks old), the price of PS1 classics at around £4 or below is very fair.
I hope subsequent updates include more PS1 classics of a greater weight than Tarzan.

Great to finally see Tomb Raider show up!
Hopefully you guys at SCEE can contact Eidos to release the old Tomb Raider classics on there, they would sell very well!

Hi Mike,
Happy Birthday buddy. Based on the information you provided in an earlier post as to how the whole process works between you getting the game from the developer and then the QA process and then compiling the metadata. Could you provide us with where Fat Princess is in this process? I know they were beefing it up to compete with the PSP version a little bit. So I’d like to know if they are still developing or if it’s in the QA process or if it’s even closer than that possibly. If you cannot comment on this information for whatever reason can you just say so?
Thanks in advance! I hope all this grilling doesn’t bother you but the no release date thing for the PSN is a real bummer.

I’d get slapped on the wrists (possible more actually
) if I divulged any specific information about where in the process certain games are. Sorry. Thanks for the birthday greet too ;

This whole Psone emulation stuff is a cash cow that, so far, the publishers, devs and Sony are really failing to milk. I am sure many of us would buy loads of old classics on a nostalgia trip. Instead the only option at the moment to play the good PSX games is via custom firmware. The irony being many would happily pay for these games AGAIN if they were available on the store. Come on Sony you have seen the sales figures for FFVII, surely a few other publishers want a piece of that pie. Start promoting it to them and maybe we can start seeing some good stuff on the store. I really want to support Sony and the PSP but you don’t make it easy, especially when YOU don’t even support it well enough.

We’d love more of the classics to come to the store, and I appreciate that other regions have some that we really want. There can be a minefield of legal issues that need to worked out (just because something was released before, doesn’t necessarily mean it can be released again) before a publisher can even submit a game to us. However, the demand that was shown for FFVII proves that once a classic PSOne game has been submitted and released on the store, it can do well.

Mike do us gamers a favour, get the SCEE PSN Store up to SCEA standard quick. The multi region QA process for each game/addon is bull and you know it.

Hi, is there any chance in the near future of a Hungarian PSN Store or Home available in Hungary, maybe VidZone? It would be great.

I hope MGS is being released on the store this week..it baffles me why we have to wait for this as it’s already on the US store and it’s been out for at least 10 years xD

Hey Mike, first off Happy Birthday.
It must suck coming back here trying to help people after a nice long birthday break and then have everyone jump on you. I am sorry for that.
Thanks for passing on the messages to Capcom and Konami.
When can we expect Zombie Apocalypse?

Sony when will you do something right and finally give a PlayStation Store to the countries you “support” but don’t have a store since 2007 (Slovenia, Croatia…). And/Or why don’t you let us use our credit cards in other European stores or why don’t you make a centralized European store?

Um MIKE can you please respond to this why do you have a release date or i mean why do you keep on putting a release date on FAT PRINCESS i mean no other PSN game other than BATLEFIELD 1943 has had a release date the only release date we get on the game is when its thursday and we see it on the playstation store or the PS blog you post up so answer my question WHY DOES FAT PRINCESS HAVE A RELEASE DATE!!
Posted on 22 July, 2009 at 10:03 am by Mike Kebby
I’m not a hundred per cent sure what you are asking? I cannot give a release date for Fat Princess because it’s not my place to do this. Once the studio devs have got the game ready and have a release date locked in place then they will post about it, then I can also happily confirm this information when asked. I’m not being elusive, I just can’t give any information on a release date at the moment I’m afraid

Just wondering. You are getting so many complaints about the differences in content between countries. They are about differences in the stores or stuff like video on demand services or Vidzone and also important the prices for content.
I but you know by now that you customers are living in a global world. Someone in the US knows how great the content is of the Singstore in the EU and someone in Poland knows that not all stores are as empty has his one.
You know that, unless you are going to release everything on a global scale, you angry your customers no matter what you give them.
Is there anything in the work that will fix this global problem?
