Would we ever have the option to send playlists to people on our friends lists ?
I think web page would be nice with a complete list of all the avaible bands/groups would be nice, especialy if done in a way you could just click on the band group and a list of all the availble track for them would be displayed.
All of course set up for the PC.

Just one Q.
What is the selection of heavy metal/rock on the VidZone app. Is there any heavy metal/rock on the app or is it mostly pop..?
Cant tjek it, i live in a country, that havent got this app yet.
Posted on 17 July, 2009 at 9:44 am by Ben Creasey
No EncodedFun it’s not just pop we try to have the widest range of videos possible.
As for heavy metal and rock there are plenty of artists I’m sure you’d like, there’s Foo Figheters to Lamb of God it really is quite diverse already. However, we are constantly working to make it even more varied!

Could you add some vids of Placebo? There an awesome band
Oh, and what about the vids from Maxïmo Park that were shown in the early teaser trailer? They aren’t there now…
Keep up the great work, VidZone is an awesome project! Too bad I need to use my German account to get it working…

I hope this isn’t too weird for you: How about improving the highest bitrate you provide? At full screen the quality isn’t that great! I have a download speed of over 13 megabits/s and most videos load in about fiften – twenty seconds. Even if the video quality was DOUBLED there would still be no bufering issues and the quality improvement would be noticable.
I can usually stream 720p content without buffering so even something approaching SD (576p) would not be an issue.
I realise you want to keep bandwidth to a minimum, but in a HD world you can’t compromise too much?
Vidzone have informed me that they use three bitrate levels (I assume I receive the highest?) If that highest level could be further increased everyone with a large 1080p TV and a decent internet speed would be grateful.
Maybe let people choose: 256K, 512K, 1024…2048…etc?! Everybody has a different download quota and speed and the choice should be the consumers.
Just a thought.

I love using VidZone, but the text entry is an absolute pain to use. Is there any way in which you can add compatibility with Bluetooth keyboards or the Sony Controller Keyboard? I can understand why it is the way it is now with the auto-find, but it’s so slow to scroll through every single letter.
Just a thought.

I really love vidzone but the there are things need improving loads
As everyone knows they search function is rubbish, they need to get the PS3 on screen keyboard, I really don’t understand the delay for this feature…heck it should be standard.
Volume normalisation it’s ridiculous the sound level differences between some songs, and it’s not consistent even really old videos can be louder than the latest.
Also the shuffle feature seems to be flaky, I tried it the other day and the same song played back to back 3 times. I just thought I may have had it three times in my ‘Playing Now’ but it wasn’t, surely they can adjust it so it doesn’t play the same song twice within the list?
Proper full screen/wide screen and HD vids as an option would be great

Sony has the rest of Europe in the ass as you can see the ignore posts from other countries than those which have VZ

I’m with all the others here who are disapointed at how all questions regarding availability of the service in other countries are being systematically avoided. Why not just take “Playstation Europe” and turn it into “Playstation UK, France, Germany, and occasionally Italy and Spain”
I’ll just take my question and make it as simple as possible:
Belgium, when?

Okay that sound great, that you guys vary the videos. Thanks for the info.
But if i should give you guys a hint on a band, that will rocket to the sky, then you guys should tjek out “Volbeat”, they are a Danish metal/elvis band who are gonna warm up for Metallica on there next tour. There music is just such a great mix of metal inspired by Elvis (the king), witch you really cant imagen before you hear it, so tjek it out and i garantie, that you wount get disepointet.
and maby i could get played on VidZone……fingers crosed.

You need to normalize tracks volume. One is high and another one is too low.
More 80′s music.I was looking for Take on me – A-Ha, and i found an horrible cover by the a51

When will it be released in Switzerland?
And just to remind you, I am still eagerly awaiting the video store!:)

This is a benchmark for the Playstation franchise.Although its quite a shame that most europeans cant enjoy it. Maybe for a while you guys can expand VidZone into countries like Switzerland(please Switzerland).Instead of music,I mean there is a lot of music videos
So many but not too many PS3 owners can experience it.
In conclusion I want to congratulate Ben Creasy and Sony for making the definitive entertainment console. Yet its not complete without the people of different countries.Having this must have application. So this is the bottom line. More countries,More entertainment

I’m liking Vidzone so far, but a couple of suggestions…
1) Widescreen – It’s the way forward, would be good if Vidzone properly supported it for video’s shot this way.
2) Volume levelling – Some tracks are way louder than others. Any chance of levelling things out a bit?
3) More Rock! Last time I checked there was no Aerosmith, Extreme, Guns’n'Roses, only 1 Def Leppard… And on a different style, no Madonna!
Keep up the good work,
Dave

Great work guys, gotta love this application.
Volume levelling is a must in my opinion.
AC/DC Please
Didn’t realise the remote works if you use controller 1 settings, so gonna try that now.
Thanks to all for this superb app.

Hey Ben,

Thanks for any reply, jamshlfc (aka Jay)

Looking on the website, one of your major labels is EMI. So where are Doves? Heavenly is one of EMIs labels. Where are Coldplay? Another EMI band.
There should also be a huge back catalogue by some of their older artists like Duran Duran, Marillion etc.
But the biggest crime is the lack of any MUSE content especially with them being in the search index!!!
Finally, there are several artists which only have one video when there are loads to choose from, for me Placebo and The Bluetones are seriously under represented!
Sort it Vidzone!!

Love Vidzone but theres just not enough classic rock or metal on there.
Needs ACDC, Machine Head, Slayer, Megadeth…I could go on and on!

There is a bug with button configuration in this PS3 title.
Usually, on my PS3 (CECHA00), ○ is OK and × is NG.
Most titles take the global console setting as well but VidZone forces ○ for NG and × for OK.
