Napalm & Cordite, the new downloadable content pack for Killzone 2, contains two exciting new multiplayer maps: Suljeva Cliffside, which takes place on the rocky outskirts of the Suljeva mining village; and Arctower Landing, which revisits the Arctower defense posts of Blood Meridian. On top of that, the DLC pack allows you to wield a pair of weapons which were previously accessible only through the single player campaign!
Napalm: The VC1 Flamethrower
Found in the Suljeva Cliffside map, the VC1 Flamethrower projects an ignited stream of flammable liquid at high pressure. Consisting of low-octane gasoline and an unidentified component indigenous to Helghan, this form of Napalm is extremely effective for clearing out enemy trenches and bunkers.Cordite: The Boltgun 4400
Also known as “The Handyman”, the semi-automatic Boltgun 4400 can be picked up in the Arctower Landing map. It uses Cordite to propel metal bolts at an extremely high velocity, often pinning its targets to walls and other objects. In addition, each round contains a time-delayed explosive charge – so if impalement doesn’t finish the target off, the ensuing explosion will.Napalm & Cordite – an explosive cocktail
Both of these weapons radically alter the Killzone 2 multiplayer dynamic, delivering an experience that’s as fresh as it is intense. If you’re a veteran Killzone 2 online player looking to mix it up, or if you simply liked wielding these weapons in the single player campaign, Napalm & Cordite is your ticket. Look for it in the PlayStation Store from July 23!

Should we refrain from commenting to your blog posts from now on since it appears that -unlike the US.Blog- you have decided to completely ignore us? I’ll try my luck once again.
Will you be proposing a bundle including all map packs released thus far? The map packs are presently shockingly overpriced. I strongly advise you to read Zico’s previous blog post, and take note. I was honestly ready to spend € 20 for the Fury addon pack, but am certainly not to spend more than € 2.99 for a KZ2 Map pack.

So the weapons won’t find its way to the rest of the Killzone maps? Wish something was free.

I suppose people are being polite, and not pointing out that it says DCL rather than DLC?
I too would love a bundle pack. With this many packs out, it’s a pricey undertaking to buy them all separately. Nice updates in this particular pack, by the way!

Any chance of a 3 DLC bundle pack for a discounted price, like they did for Warhawk? I’m yet to pick up any of the DLC, but a bundle price may just tempted me – say £11-£12 for all 3?

I just hoped back online with Killzone today after not having played for about a month. Really I wasn’t planning on picking up this new map pack because of that, but looking at the video I might just have to. Only thing which is likely to stop me in the WipEout HD Fury dlc:)

Just got back into Killzone 2 after quitting a few months ago and i’m suprised at how much you guys’ve improved the game in those last few months. Sentry bots actually do damage now, spawn invuln. disabled on spawn nades and you can actually see the mp settings before entering a server. All in all a job well done Guerilla and i’m feverishly anticipating this DCL and all future updates.

Hi …how about some of the questions from your previous post are answered? 55 comments, not a reply from you, while the US blog gets replies.

I love my DCL.
At least this looks the most impressive of your DLC. Can’t say I want to support it beyond here though. 4 different packs of 2 maps each at $10 a go is a tad much.

Also any chance of adding the electric gun from single player lol.

I’ve loved the DLC so far and can’t wait to try out the Boltgun and Flamethrower online
I like the nuclear explosion in one of the maps, I stay outside and get killed just to watch it sometimes XD

Killzone online is seriously struggling after never getting off the ground to much of start.
Searching worldwide last night I found one game that was using one of the first two map packs. Right now before its too late it needed some free DLC injected and a massive overhaul to save itself.
The biggest problem is the poorly thought out game modes and lack of squad management. 32 players default on a small map, choke points around every corner, search and destroy locations placed right next to each other just becomes a grenade fest. Most common complaint I hear time and time again is it’s too hectic.
No one of my friends list ever plays it purely because of how difficult it is to find a decent match. You have to know what to look for and a lot of people don’t have the time or patience to find it out for themselves. Neither should they have to.
I have real sympathy for the Killzone devs who have created a superb single player campaign and engine only for the online division to mess it all up. I’m only buying this new pack for trophies, keep my 100% and to maybe play it once.
I’m having more fun playing Battlefield 1942 right now, the simplicity it offers just works.

Often when I want to play the new maps after a few weeks they come out there are hardly any playes. So I stop buying the new ones and keep on playing the older maps…

I bought the first DLC, but really wish as a 1st party title that these add-ons were a bit cheaper, I realise that the devs are still supporting it and all, but something like 2 DLC packs for £7.49 would be nice

@28
) , and when i throw grenades i always end up hitting every little thing that are sticking out on the map, witch makes my grenade bounch right back. But other than that i really think the game/storie/atmosfere is so GREAT.
Well i am one of those people that have played the single player part of the game (and loved it), but really dont play Killzone online.
This is mainly because i cant get to gribs with the handeling of the guns, every time i move my crosshair over to a target, then i always find my self having to correct myself,because i overshoot the target and i also have a very hard time keeping the crosshair on a moving target, witch puts me off a bit.
I dont know if its just me that have it like this, but i think the handeling is a bit wierd. I would rather have the weapons/feeling being a bit like COD ( sorry for saying that

@28 continued
Actually i think in the single player part of the game the handeling works good, because you have a bit more time to take down your targets and because the AI bots are a bit more stationary but when you play online this is not the case, witch makes it very hard to get a good kill, unless you are up close, when firring your gun.
I have played the single player part of the game on medium, but now i think im gonna try it on hard, just because the atmosfhere is so great.

@32
Yours is a common complaint. Have you tried online since the ‘high precision’ update? It’s still acceleration-based control (rather than direct turning speed in CoD and most shooters), but small adjustments are much easier. It’s a shame most people aren’t prepared to embrace the controls; after getting used to them, CoD’s controls feel way more simplified and unrealistic.

@34
Ya i have tryed KZ2 online after the update, but not very much, maby i should try again and maby fiddle a bit with the setting to the controls.
“It’s still acceleration-based control (rather than direct turning speed in CoD and most shooters)”
Thats prob. why i have such a hard time when playing this game.
Thanks for the anwser, i will try to give the online mode a second chance and see how i do.
