Hello all. After our experiment to go out early last week, we’ve decided to revert back to providing the store updates on the blog on a Thursday, to ensure you have the most accurate information possible. However, we will make sure that the content updates are provided nice and early on a Thursday morning so that you still have quite a bit of warning as to what will be available later in the day. I think this is a good middle ground between the test from last week, and when we used to publish the content updates after the store was updated, so I hope you’ll still feel this is an improvement on how we used to do it.
I apologise that the Wednesday test was so short-lived, but it turns out that it was more difficult than I’d first anticipated for our teams to confirm completely accurate content that much in advance.
Okay, so onto the content this week, we have another mixed bag available for you, from the quiz game TV Show King, to the demo version of Batman: Arkham Asylum, via a trial for Rag Doll Kung-Fu to the third map pack for the ever popular Call of Duty: World at War.
The Waldgeist expansion pack for Savage Moon has also arrived, as well as additional content for LittleBigPlanet, and Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. That’s not all though, for a complete list scroll down for more!

yo mike
to be honest i think this is a poor update there is just not much in it.
yo no i find it funny that the ps3 is the only console where u have 2 live in a specific contry 4 you to get the best out of it
seems to me that sony don’t have much authority since they don’t seem able to get publishers to submit games. microsoft i would assume is bursting with it seeing as they have no trouble.
an 4 anyone who says stop moaning i am not i am expressing my (frustrated) opinion just like everyone else

I hope this isn’t a premonition for the US update today.
I know it’s not your fault though when the content is…well less than stellar.
But Sony needs to get it together, as of late I haven’t been too impressed (except for Fat Princess)

God people, get over it, this week is pretty well balanced, demo, few add on’s, few videos, it’s August it’s always slow at this time of year. Just to plant the seed as nobody else seems to have said it(they probs have so I’ll add to the chorus)I’m not getting fat princess until I know I can play it decently online, so is there a date for this patch? Then I’ll break the bank and spend £11…(was that even sarcasm? I don’t even know.)

Hello Mike,
I know this question is unrelated to the store update, but I thought I’d ask you it to see if you can find anything out about it. I was wondering, is there a patch on the way to fix the online issues surrounding Ghostbusters? Just there has only been rumours concerning one and the game needs an update so that US and EU gamers can play together and so that both the ‘Payday’ and ‘No job too big’ trophies can be earned.
If you could find anything out about this issue that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Hey, there is a big problem with the Savage Moon DLC.
Upon installing the game reverts back to the trial! How could this be missed in testing!
Just letting you guys know

Hi, Thanks for letting us know about that. Some users have found this issue and we have posted some information to help here:

It has happened again…
It was just confirmed in the comments section on the US blog that the PSP remake of SMT: Persona, which is scheduled for both at retail and PS Store next month, will NOT make it to Europe.
Mike, I think it’s time for you to give your colleges at Microsoft a call, they’ll probably be able to give you some pretty goods tips on how to run a store, as they somehow manage to avoid these issues.

Okay I’ve asked for the past 2 weeks but I will ask again because I would really like a reply on this.
If the laws in some countries prevent you from releasing some content then why not release that content in the countries that you can??
Yes it may divide the stores but they are already incredibly divided. Actually would it be too hard to just have one unified store available globally??
If the psp go is coming out soon and is rumoured to have PSN cards available and will also rely entirely on the PS store then will SCEE step up on their content issues? There are too many games that NA and JP stores have that we don’t and also big games like god of war psp that no one has. Will this be fixed?
Some examples of games that are missing I would like that are missing:
resident evil 1, 2, 3
guilty gear
tekken 1, 2, 3, dark resurection psp
castlevania SOTN (americans got this 2 YEARS AGO!! come on SCEE!!)
metal gear solid portable ops
gta liberty city stories
gta vice city stories
god of war chains of olympus (the psp’s biggest game but it’s not on the store? why?)
Please SCEE give us more games!!

Update could be better, but the Batman demo was good, thanks
Thanks for commenting on Silent Hill eariler. I was wondering why it was pulled, heard it was because of technical issues and I didn’t encounter any problems with it, besides frame rate issues, so yea, I managed to buy it, and I’m very pleased
Will it ever be released though? Since it exists in PSP and emulation format, will it ever?

I can’t get the Gran Turismo video to play. It downloads but shows up as “Unsupported Content” in the video list. This is the second video I’ve downloaded from the PSN Store that has done this although I can’t remember what the first one was. :-/
Also, it’s been comfirmed now that Persona PSP will be released in on the PSN Store and on UMD simultaneously. Is there any news on a PSN or UMD release in Europe?

Still no answer to:
“Where are you going to imporve the EU PSN anyways? It’s unacceptable that there is one PS3 Games section with all stuff in one beg. I’d like to easily find PSN only games in one sections, demos in another etc. Why it’s so hard when US PSN already has it? Is it to hard to simply learn from better? I don’t see any excuse for not having this. And if you PSN guy and girls have periodical meeting to discuss PSN don’t it requires improvement it means that you simply don’t use PSN except “for work”. What a shame.”

There are ridiculous £70 classics on Ebay like Chrono Cross. I appreciate classics like FF and MGS very much however can you ask publishers for any mor elike Chrono Cross or other FF’s. Thanks Mike for all your replies to our comments.

I think it is unfair that you do not let us choose who our money goes to as far as which PSN store we buy from. What is sony afraid of?

Posted on 8 August, 2009 at 10:29 am by Dutch_Rootsman
Dear Mike,
Nothing against you, but I don’t really care if you’re in PR or not. I believe you when you say you aren’t though.
Point is, what I really care about is PSone classics and the distinct lack of legitimate classics on the Aussie PSN Storefront.
Further to that, Capcom, I swear if MVC2 isn’t on the store update next week I’ll very upset.
Peace and Love,
Dutch

Why don’t Sony make a store for us Aussie users? Is that to much to ask? Please can SCEE get off your ass and put the size of the DLC it can’t be all that hard because the US store can do it also when putting prices on all games can you please put how much it would cost in $AU because I am getting very annoyed at having to convert Euros and Pounds. SERVE US BETTER SONY!!!!!

I love Ps3; it has really great content. But wot really annoys me is the PSone classics. So far they have released 48 games on the european store and half of them are rubbish. Since when has anyone wanted to play the Little Mermaid, reel fishing, championship bass and now extreme pinball! Surely they haven’t sold half as well as true classics such as crash bandicoot 1,3, and racing or medievil on the store.Sony if you want to make money on classics bring out games that ps3 owners would love to play such as: the spyro trilogy crash bandicoot 2, crash bash, medievil 2, croc legend of the gobbos and croc 2. Trust me people would buy these and u would make money instead of wasting it on no-hopers like kula world.

Posted on 19 August, 2009 at 7:28 pm by XXTheGamerXX
oh yh bring out tekken 1,2 and 3 as well they would sell.
Also not tryin to annoy you Sony but wouldn’t it be better to just have one store globally because the merchandise on the North American store is completely different to that on the European one. It really annoys me and other european players that America have crash bandicoot 2 when we don’t and it probably annoys Americans that they can’t play Crash Team Racing when we can.
One store = everyones happy.

How comes America have all the Spyros and Europe doesn’t!
