Just a quick question, is there no way SCEE can work together with publishers to quicken the process of releasing their products in the European sector?

I understand that the American store has PS One classics that include Tomb Raider so would there be any method of quickening the process with Eidos (Or Square Enix whatever you fancy)?

Please make it possible to download demos for more games. x360 live has demos for allmost all games produced for it and ps3 store is not close by any means? Rather strange if you ask me.

And one another important feature a TRIAL download for all buyable games on store. Give the user a choice dont force them to buy and getting them to be unsure in the future if it is worth it or not. All arcade live games on x360 is trial download wich i allways use to test before buy.

Those are important features you cant ignore.

PS.
More PS3 themes for the ps3 would be great. ;-)

Completely agree with virtually everyone here. We NEED a demo section. Also adding a few more categories would help too, e.g.:
-PS3 Games
-PS3 DLC
-PS3 Demos
etc. Everything shoved into one overflowing category is really not very user-friendly.

I really don't believe this.

We, your customers are telling you that we want a demo category.
You are coming out with some contrived spin about why you won't.
You won't say it but you won't give us a demo category because you misguidedly believe that by making us sort through all the pay for rubbish on the store in order to find demos that we will impulse buy like hypnotised robots.
You are wrong.
Sony have so disappointed me this generation, that next generation we will have one console in our house and I'm afraid it's going to be the Microsoft one.
Well done Sony and good job Angela on totally ignoring your customers and answering your own made up questions.
Utterly abysmal PR.

“Research to date has shown that the download figures for demos in the US Store and the European Store are very similar … For this reason we are not planning to change the placement of demos in the store”

I know that people have already commented on this, but I'm saying it too just so you understand that the statement doesn't make any sense. The download figures are the same because people in both US and EU want demos, not because the demos are equaly easy to find.

You say you want the store to be easy to browse, and out of all the stores the US one is by far the most easily browsed. You say there are differences in the lay outs beacuse there is different content on the stores, but this too doesn't really make any sense. Even though the actual games might differ, it's still all the same kind of content. Therefore it would be very easy to have the same lay out across all stores. It's not like a single store offers ringtones and another one offers clothes. It's all just games, demos and dlc, and those are also the top categories that makes the most sense.

Don't get me wrong here, I think you're doing a great job over all! =)

So once again SCEE is pushing the blame onto 3rd party developers.

Heres a novel concept for you; give them more support.

Then again, its strange how 3rd party developers manage to get simultaneous releases when its a disc-based product. Its only when something shows up on the Playstation Store when the problems start to appear. Funny that.

Ever since the original Playstation, SCEE has been the runt of the litter as far as the SCE group has been concerned. Releases are months, if not years behind the rest of the world. Its laughable. It encourages people to use grey imports (RIP Lik-Sang, God bless 'em) and turns people off the brand as a whole. Its funny, when I owned a 360 I was never concerned about waiting months for a title, whether it was digitally distributed or not.

Maybe you ought to start talking to the likes of Valve. Its not perfect, but its a vast improvement on the running joke that is the EU Playstation Store.

Sony have a long tradition in treating Europe as a second-class customer. This latest PR guff says to me that nothing has changed and that attitude is set to continue. Unless you've got dollars or yen burning a hole in your back pocket Sony simply are not interested.

New Avatars are definitely needed, even if I have to pay for them. (I personally think the Chimera skull and crossed guns from Resistance: Retribution would make one hell of an avatar). Or ideally, our PlayStation Home characters being displayed on the XMB in the friends list. Not only would it mean every one is unique (providing they don't use a pre made character) it would also give more of an incentive to those who still view Home as a pointless service that doesn't benefit their PS3 experience.

First of all, i would like to say that i think the PS3 is a excellent machine. That beeing said, i do have some complaints.
I agree with what has already been said; you talked about the video store coming to Europe a long time ago. I still isn't here. Microsoft is launching theire video-on-demand in Norway soon. (this fall) You have had a long time to figure out the legalities with the different Scandinavian countries.

Living in Norway, i am starting to get used to beeing left out. Microsoft is starting to get the idea, that they should expand theyre services. When will Sony too get it?

And i do hope that when you finally launch the video store, it will not be exclusive to England and the 'Big' and 'Important' countries!

Also, i would like to see a Demos section on the EU Store!

As for the US to EU delays that are 3rd party releases.....

How can Microsoft manage it on Live?

Why did it take over 7 months for the Blast Factor patch to make it to Europe?
Even the game developers said it was in the hands of SCEE??

I'm not having a go, but the PSN needs to offer more than Live does and there are simple areas where it is clearly behind.

What I miss the most from the EU PlayStation Store are the Konami PS1 games.

US PSN had Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for over 2 years now, and is one of the bestselling titles there, but for some reason it has yet to be released here.

And when we finally got a good Konami PS1 game here, Silent Hill, it was removed after just a few days.

It would be nice to see Castlevania: SOTN, Suikoden 1&2, Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill!

I would also love to see some Square-Enix PS1 titles that never reached Europe back in the days. Xenogears, Chrono Cross, Threads of Fate and Brave Fencer Musashi were all released in the US back in the PS1 days but never came to Europe, and they are all excellent. And then their games that reached Europe too, like Vagrant Story!

Lots of improvements that can be done with the PS1 Classics section!

Great entry and I first want to say that the PSN store has definately been improved over the past few months.

Some personal thoughts:
- I'm not buying a game for 10-15 euro when I can't see a video/screenshots, nor a user review (even a link would do as it is connected to the web anyway), star rating or size of the game (levels). Even for small casual games a demo makes sense (I got the pinball game after trying it). Like me, many of us are not familiar with old(er) console games.
- I personally don't like the navigation through the sections on te left, I always find myself going back and forth before I found what I'm looking for. I guess i like to have a bettter location for the search butten and turn it into a search bar.
- Definately looking forward to the video on demand announcement.

Thanks again for the post and reading the entries, much appreciated

It's beyond me how you can look at both the US-store and the PAL-store, and not come to the conclusion that the US-store is so much better.

I'm not talking about the contents, as you have pointed out, not everything comes down to Sony. But the way the store is organised is so much better. Separate demo-section, distinctive icons, clean and easy.
The PAL-store in comparison is cluttered and messy.

But perhaps you can do some extensive research and show us that "we" (the PS3 users) are wrong....
Just remember, sales are not equal to customer satisfaction. And yes, in that last area Sony can improve so much more.

I dont want a demo section to browse demos, i want one so when im looking for new games to buy digitally on the store, im not bombarded with demos, which makes my buying experience a little more fustrating thsn it should be. At least make sections to divide games, demos, add-ons and classics. Other than that though, the stores great.
