Issues With PAIN Blu-ray

hey thanks for the update was thinking of getting the game on disc. can i ask if theres a PAIN playstation home space on the way just to confirm the news

Just getting back into Pain now I got a 500gb hard drive and could reinstall it again (deleted it to make way for newer stuff on my old 40gb drive). Dunno if I’d ever rate it as a great game but it’s certainly a lot of fun.

I bought ‘Payne’ [Eh? See what I did there ] the day it was released and have throughly enjoyed it. I have also purchased every piece of downloadable content and enjoyed them all; most of all the ‘Abusement Park’ add-on and the ‘Hoff’.

My question for you today, or at best a query is this: A few days a go ‘Coker’ made a reply on the Official PAIN Blog stating that the ‘Museum’ and something *FREE* was going to be released today. However according to the blog post just below this one, that is not the case.

Can you please shed some light on this. Thanks.

more sloppiness. It seems to have on any release of game/patch etc. It’s a real shame gaming has becoming like this.

What happened to the days when games and updates were released and they actually worked from day one without having to add ANOTHER patch?

I know PAIN had a problem with the update screen, causing the screen to freeze a couple of weeks ago when I bought it, I think. Was that the same problem as this?

Still not made my mind up about this game yet? Is there a demo?

So the ones who have PAIN for more then a year have to wait, and the ones who just bought the Blu-Ray are served first?

Well I have no worries there then, as I have the PSN version, and have had since launch.
Btw, I hope you do great things with the £5.58 I just gave you.

Also, will there be any more ‘premium’ characters, like new celebrities. I liked being able to throw someone I know (Not personally though) about.

Just tried Pain out; and have to say AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! I had to wait 30mins for the new content to download (Over 400mb), then when installing it got stuck at about 20% for ages, then I had to let 107 items update, another 5 – 10mins.

But then I went onto ShotBloks with the Hoff and all was forgiven

Had same sort problem with Blu-Ray of Brain Challenge / Leaderboards crash it works fine if you have PSN download of Brain Challenge. There seams to be issue of supporting game that where PSN download that turn in Blu-Ray additions.

You would be better of watching this video all about it. Sorry it a bit of subject and not about Pain but it PSN Vs Blu-Ray edition issue going on here.

Hi you PAIN guys, could you tell Studio Liverpool how great a BD release of Wipeout HD would be?

BD releases are always better. In a short time they cost 1/2 of the PSN ones… Speaking about that, any idea about halving the PSN prices after, let’s say, six months that a game is out? That would especially apply to Pain seen the many DLCs available (and already in blu ray at a cheaper cost all together).

on the blu ray version of pain can you get a platinum

does this in any way relate to the sore spots pack disappearing from
both in game and the ps store?

So.. if we happened to buy the DLC, and find that it doesn’t work -as we have the BD version.. will we have to redownload once the patch is applied or will it just work magically?

Love the game, brings the family together can’t wait to play both the museum and new single play mode.. Wish you devs well with the patching!

No, I was just wondering. The problems I was refering to, has been fixed.

I have the BD version and purchased the museum pack (100kb?) on the 14/08/09, I have also downloaded the smooth Jarvis add-on. I have just tried the game again, both are still missing and Online is still locked.
Is the patch almost ready? (fingers-crossed)

Just tried the game again. Jumps through the update, nothing yet.

I bought the museum pack two weeks ago, and I’m still waiting for a patch for something I paid…

If your update is not running and workig by the 01/09/09 then I would like my money back from the downloads I’ve got and can’t play ten days for a update that doesn’t come get it working or it will end up a pre owned game in a shop.

Good call zippy I got the blu-ray of pain was working fine till I downloaded the hoff and now I can’t play online or play the new downloads if I want my games not to work I would of got a xbox and hoped for the red ring. don’t get me wrong I love this game but I would love it a bit more if i could play it online someday soon

the ten working days are over now, so i just tried to start pain,
the game downloaded a update, but still no Museum available in the game. I downloaded the addon again from the store, but it don’t works.

Please Joey don’t make promises if you don’t know for sure that its solved in ten working days.

And the worst of this, The museum addon is still available in the store without a warning for the blu-ray owners of the game, so they still sell the game addon to people who don’t know about this problem.

Just tried the game again. 5 small updates d/loaded, what they have done I have no idea. Museum, Smooth Jarvis, Andy Dick and Knocking Bloks still missing, and online still locked. No idea what’s going on!!!

hey guys, we should all add each other so when pain is working again we can let each other know, so we don’t have to keep comming back here everyday to see if the update has been put on or not, and when it’s working we can all play each other online, feel free to add me people. ps give us blu ray player something to make up for the wait free and then we may forgive you lol.

I have to agree with the previous comment about giving us suckers *ahem*….I mean retail BD owners some free DLC, in this day and age of rampant piracy on systems such as the 360, PC, PSP, DS etc those of us which actually go out and shell out our hard earned money on games deserve better than this. I too own the retail product and have been unable to play it online since purchase – shocking really.

I hear that the 3.00 update is out on the 01/09/09 I do hope the pain fix is there, going mad that I/we can’t play online or play the new stuff, lol I’m sure my 10 days are a lot less than yours must be in dog years lol, oh and I will add you all soon if I have’t done so yet.

come on this is a joke now, why did you bring the blu-ray out if it wasn’t going to work or get a fix, I and others feel ripped off, £20 for a game that works one day and then your luck if it works the next, you don’t know if you should buy stuff for it online as it wouldn’t work and sony don’t give you your money back, if this is a con so I/we have got to buy if from psn it’s not funny, can someone please tell us what is going on and please no more lies like 10 days to fix. from a vary mad fan of pain.

I’ve given up on the game some time ago…doubt a patch will come, might aswell sell the game so I can get my money back.

Hi Joey would it be alright if you could plz let us know how far along you are with the patch, we’ve had no word for days and if its done when will we see it up and running, I want to buy your new stuff but am fearful that they won’t work and I won’t get my money back. so plz let us know how its going, love this game and still play if offline but I WANT TO PLAY ALL THE NEW STUFF NOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW!!!!!!
