How is it fair to price the PS3 Slim at €299 and $299 dollars? €299 dollars = $422!!!! Why are Europe always getting the short straw?!

I expected some info about upcoming games, that was a conference just about hardware basically. Not bad, but for ppl who already have a PSP & PS3.. need more game info!

Top Job Jem! I had 3 liveblogs on the go and this one was the best by far:D Had my hopes up a bit for some playstation store stuff today but hopefully some good stuff will come thursday..

A fine presentation sony. It was shorter than I expected, but pretty powerful stuff.

I think that the price drop, in the end sony’s hand was forced a bit, but it needed to be done, as it’s become such a mental obstacle.

The new firmware does sound exciting but I can’t help but feel it would’ve really blown away the competition (ie microsoft lol) if cross voice chat came at the same point as the price drop. I’m sure it’s on the horizon though.

The Home news was extremely awesome too, I thought that was the only thing that lacked at E3 (though the american home is already kinda awesome on it’s own ).

The psp came out the real winner though, I thought it was a masterstroke giving GT free for a period, ppl on the fence about picking it up early have most surely been pushed over now!

On a more local note though, is Australia included in the video service being rolled out “sometime in 2010″?

I see people mentioning the 3.0 firmware, but did they really say anything about that?

Good stuff otherwise, nice to see a firmer date on the video store and it will be interesting to see how the new price drop alters things.

Jems comment about the new slim having the same features as my current one isn’t exactly correct though unless it got media card readers and PS2 compat
My biggest hope for the slim though would be if it got a USB port on the back instead of just on the front.

Wow. What a conference Sony. You realy did out-do yourselves. Particularly impressed at the efficiency and matter-of-fact manner around the conference – it makes a change from the normal bad jokes and long silences.

Looking forward to the PSPgo, Firmware 3.00, the PSN revamp and pretty much all the other fantastic little bits you’re doing to make our PlayStation experience far better.

hmm.. cant help but feel like i wanted a little more from that.. PS3 slim is great and all but i already have a PS3 and with no new features i have no reason to update to a newer model.

would of liked backwards compat but it didnt show i’ll live in hope!

No GT5! There’s still a few days left so hopefully some news will finally come.
