PlayStation.Blog.Europe Weekly Content Recap

It’s been another busy week on the PlayStation Blog, even though we’ve all been recovering from gamescom. Was it really only a week ago? We released a couple more gamescom interviews, and we’ve got a few more left over for next week, too. On top of that we’ve seen some PSN announcements and a sneaky first look at the new The Game Is Just The Start advertising campaign.
- Capturing InviZimals At gamescom – James chats with Daniel Sanchez-Crespo about the PSP’s upcoming augmented reality game, InviZimals.
- Heavy Rain’s David Cage And I, Tellin’ Stories – James and Quantic Dream’s David Cage discuss game narrative.
- PSN Maintenance – The PSN went down for maintenance earlier this week, to prepare for some of the great announcements we made at gamescom.
- Celebrate Crash Commando Week With Game Update/Patch And New Content! – Crash Commando week saw some great new content and features being made available for the game.
- Buzz! World Championship Grand Final – The Buzz! World Championship grand final took place this week in Bunyol, Spain.
- IL-2 Sturmovik Demo Now Available On PSN – The IL-2 Sturmovik demo is available to download from the PSN Store
- Smash Cars Coming To PSN August 27th! – The European release date for Smash Cars is revealed alongside a launch trailer.
- The Buzz! Tomato Challenge Makes Its Way Into PlayStation Home – Buzz! invades PlayStation Home — and he brought tomatos.
- ‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (27th August 2009) – The weekly PlayStation Store update.
- The VidZone Invasion Continues – VidZone expands into eleven new countries, plus check out the new playlist releases.
- Armin Diethelm Crowned Buzz! World Champion! – The Buzz! World Championship ends with Switzerland taking the gold medal.
- The Ad Is Just The Start – Mark Hardy introduces the new European PS3 TV ads and asks for your feedback.
- UK Advertising Campaign Details – Adam Boita goes into detail about the UK specific TV ads.
- Topatoi: Spins to Australia and New Zealand – Boolat Games announces the release of Topatoi for Australia and New Zealand.
- A Word From The Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Audio Lead – The second in our Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 series — this time exploring the game’s audio.

Blog Recap: failed to get Gamescom on the Store, provided a rubbish Vidzone update, and then messed up the rather poor Store update as well.

Any idea on when you announce Ratchet & Clank special edition on the blog and do you know anything about an Uncharted 2 special edition? I was going to pre-order it for the beta but I am holding out for a special edition.

To #3: Gamescom is at the store. Definitely good to watch.
All in all, I think it has been interesitng week. New PS3, plenty nice games and some new innovations (3d controller)
One interesting thingy is the EyePet .. For some reason there is new stuff at http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/08/28/eyepet-in-stores-on-november -17/ but not here.. Ah well, as long as they eventually arrive into Eu area too.
At the same time.. Sony has serious issues of reaching all europe. Even though we (nordic) are finally (xmas 2009?) getting VidZone the unavailability of PlayTV is totally bogus.

i gotta say that smash cars is by far the WORST PSN game to have ever been released! it is not worth AU$24!! at most it should be priced at maybe $5-$6. awful gameplay terrible grafix and no-one playing online!!?? i think i’ll stick to buying games on disc from now on. i’ve been burnt way too many times by sony and their shoddy partners in crime!
thanx for yet another pathetic store update sony.

It’s been a reasonable week for PS3. It’s an okay finale to what I like to call ‘bulk year’ (Jan-Aug). I have high hopes of PS3′s success in the Christmas period; to me, the last four months are the Christmas period, I’ve already seen Christmas decorations in shops

I bought the George Takei addon hoping it would fix my issues with PAIN. Alas no cigar. I bought the disc version on release. All worked fine until the museum pack came along. Since then I cannot play museum NOR CAN I GO ONLINE. I have payed for a service, under the Consumer Guarantees Act Sony is obligated to PROVIDE THOSE SERVICES PAID FOR, yet despite posting in the official forums where I’m told via rumour that Sony are aware & fixing it, nobody from Sony has bothered contacting me. YET MORE PAIN PACKS KEEP COMING. I smell SCAM. Come on Sony its been THREE WEEKS! WHERES OUR PRODUCT???????
