Have you heard? Firmware 3.00 has been unleashed and is now available to download via System Update on the XMB. In case you’re not entirely sure what new features this update contains, we’ve got a video walkthrough, showcasing some of the major improvements. Check it out below.
I also wanted to take some time to discuss one specific 3.00 feature with you – the What’s New Screen. By default, this is the first thing that you will see when you enter the XMB (though you can turn this off in the PS3’s settings). We’re aiming to provide links to content that PlayStation fans will find interesting. This content can be streaming video, a link to a webpage (such as a blog post, perhaps!) or a direct link to an item on the the PlayStation Store.
The aim is for the What’s New Screen to be a community tool. We’ve got some big plans already, but we also want to know what you, the community, want from it. Have a think and let us know in the comments section below.

Not just announce 3.01 but they need to adress the rest to:
- the pore situation the playstation store is in compared to SCEA/SCEJ
- No LBP GOTY
- No God of War 1 & 2 for europe
- What’s new is not being updated regularly
- Pricing is just crazy it should be the same for everyone I don’t expect to pay € 8 more for a platinum re-release of a game.
I could go on but just read the through the comments and you will get a good idea.. The morning has come and gone still no word from SCEE!!!

@801 I also agree with your points.
SCEE will just say they can’t make 3rd party developers submit things to the EU store, companies clearly don’t rate SCEE otherwise the situation would be different.

Yeah maybe they will make up something like that but I think to know now that they used that one to much things to add to the list..

Well it’s officially Wednesday here in Australia and it’s getting close to a week and still no reply or Q&a on the problems with 3.0 don’t hear anything by the time I get up in
the morning I will put both of my playstations on eBay and go buy a new mac with the money.

I suspect an update about problems with firmware 3.0 will appear once it is posted on the US blog.
Or SCEE are localising the US response for the EU market which means it will be some time next year.

I feel really let down with that PS3 advert on youtube, there are millions of Nigerians that spend their hard earned money to buy Sony products and for sony to now brand Nigerians as dodgy is highly irresponsible. On behalf of all law-abiding Nigerian that buy Sony Products, I demand an apology or else we shall begin a nationwide campaign to boycott sony products in Nigeria.
