Although everyone always reads the site consistantly mentioned in the ‘What We Read’ posts.
It might be the EU Blogs place to show a bit of love for sites based throughout UK/Europe, or who report on PlayStation news from the UK/European angle.

Uncharted 2′s cinema mode looks amazing, as does LBP on PSP… but, what happened to Assassin’s Creed Bloodlines? I haven’t heard anything about it for months, is it still happening or what?

Far be it from me to suggest that Jem Alexander linking to Joystiq 4 times is a bit biased…

Uncharted movie mode looks interesting, but really i’m looking forward to the single player story most of all.
Flashpoint looks awesome but i’d say it’s going to be one hardcore game so co-op gives me some chance lol.
I haven’t bought a game for my PSP since Loco Roco but with GT and LBP on the way, i’ll be giving it some love again.
L.A. Noire sounds like it’s still a long way off but all the more intrigueing after that tidbit of info…
3D Tech?…. I can’t see people jumping to buy new 3D tvs considering many have just invested in their 1st HDtv and many others are still using SDtv. This Tech sounds expensive and as tasty as it would be to have it in my living room i can’t see it taking off for a few years due to the cost involved, if ever.
So, thanks for providing some reading material for my late sunday morning and i look forward to your important post regarding Firmware 3.0 this week.

@3 It’s still on track on a November release but to my knowledge, the only gameplay or trailers for it was it’s debut trailer

Thanks Andy, good to know it’s still coming. I hope Ubisoft put some more weight behind advertising it though, it could end up with iffy sales without many people knowing about it.

I’m liking the look of that Uncharted 2 feature. I really hope that game kicks off to a storm, because I feel as though so much is being pumped into it to get it up there.

Oh dear, look at the hype being generated for Uncharted 2. I can sense the sound of sharpened axes if it doesn’t deliver, but not playing the 1st game personally so…should be fun to see.
Like how you chose a Firmware article that complimented it on being faster while blatantly ignoring the heaps of faults. It’s that which gives me the image of Sony executives blindfolded and shaking their head everytime “Firmware” and “Disaster” appear in the same sentence.
Which at the moment probably isn’t far from the truth, right Sony?

i lol’d at this. its great to tell people you monitoring there coments but then not link anything in regarding the amount of complaints regarding the state of affairs that is SCEE. from firmware 3.0 issues( boxed friends? no instant replay to messgae with no subject. no background music while on xmb) right through to store content and PS home ( presentation podium no working,RE5 space still gimped no picture frames no regular home updates, comunity manager leaving).
I tell you what is strange though there are link to several websites articles but these website i visit on a daily basis and not one of them has said anything about the issues and large complaints/thread on the blogs and forums.
Maybe SCEE showing abit of extra loving to certain people who mind get behind the consumers perhaps. might be a long winded conspiracy theory but with certain posts being deleted on threads and the lack of progress or insight into what is happen or being done to resolve issues makes me believe my theory may well be true.

hahaha. yeah right. sony arent going to point to the negative comments made about them! no company would. personally i really like the new look that 3.0 brought us. although i do miss my spiderman font and the little noise it used to make when starting a game. but, all in all i like it. as for breaking games, nothing here, and i have a LOT of games for it to wreck. on the “home” front, meh. i dont really bother with home any more. i used to like going in there and watching the videos but now it seems to be just film trailers and im not interested in that rubbish. i can see trailers anywhere. i used to like the tech and gadget videos that have just dissipated. also ive only just stumbled across a really cool feature incl in 3.0… copy/paste!! [DELETED]!? thats cool as.
keep the cool features coming sony

@ cc_star – yeah, they should get some of the smaller sites and playstation blogs linked from this site instead of the totally commercial ones who are paid for by the big companies.
show some indie love Sony, it’s what makes the community great.
remember that word, community? what about play.create.share?

I’m not 100% convinced that contrasted loading times against 2.8 really represents what you’ve been reading about Firmware 3.0, you know.
Any word on when we’ll see an actual response to the feedback (as poorly as it’s been presented at times)?

http://www.ps3center.net/news/3590/god-of-war-iii-to-be-released-simul taneously-worldwide/
Good news for Sony fans worldwide, though! The latest issue of Famitsu magazine confirms that God of War III will also be releasing in Japan in March 2010. For the first time, Sony will be publishing the title in Japan as well, after Capcom published the previous entries into the franchise. With Japan and North America confirmed for a March 2010 release, it would seem that Sony is indeed aiming for a simultaneous worldwide release of the title. We’ve contacted Sony Europe for a comment, so stay tuned for more.
so will sony be doing their idea of a worldwide launch or will it be a real worldiwde launch?
japan and north america confirmed, big shocker, europe not confirmed.
that old sony mantra “no plans for europe” again?

“Did we miss something exciting?”
PS1 games
Video Store
Delays
Lack of feedback until now
Higher prices
Poor management
NAH, we didn’t “miss something exciting” this week here in Europe, we’ve been missing the playstation experience as a whole, Einstein.

at the very least an option to change the colour of the text on the xmb would be welcome, i mean people have only been asking for that for, like, two years now.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/bbcinternet/2009/09/new_version_of_bbc_ipla yer_for.html
This is on the conversation links to the right. At least the BBC seem *much* more interested in the problems PS3 owners were having with iPlayer functionality than Sony themselves.
They have given a far more detailed description of potential issues PS3 users may have with the iPlayer system also. Contrast and compare this with the “yes, we understand you are having isolated problems. We’ll get back to you at some point” mealy-mouthed, limited response to FW 3.0 freezing games and poor store update.
Finally, the man from the BBC who is responsible for bigging up the iPlayer says this:
“Over the coming weeks we’ll be adding some extra functionality and fixing a few glitches in the UI.”
Please take a leaf out of this book, Sony designers!

has any reason been given for why europe didn’t get any dynamic themes in the last update?
it’s especially annoying when one of them is from a uk game.
36
Posted on 8 September, 2009 at 10:41 am by HazelAM
and another thing, people keep asking for a demo category on the store, why not just add it, don’t give me the guff about “people still find the demos” because, well, firstly, how do you know? and second, they would still be able to find them your way if you added the demo catagory but they would also have a much easier way.
what about all the new ps3 owners there are now with the sales surge from the price cut and the ps3 slim?
how are they supposed to find the demos?
currently they have to go through the whole game list to find them, while a demo category would see them all in one place, or would it be too much work to find them all yourself and copy them into the new section? which would kind of prove you wrong about how easy they are to find wouldn’t it?
because that seems to be the only reason i can see why you haven’t added it after so many people have been asking for so long.
you don’t want to put the work in.
seems to be a company wide ethos for scee.

I’m posting this here cos the Contact Us form is buggy (says “Image verification was incorrect. Please try again.” despite it being correct- Tried multiple times reloading the image).
Anyways, this is the message I’m trying to send you:
Hello there,
I just wanted to let you know that since the day the PS3 was released in Europe, the Italian version of the PlayStation Store displays the wrong procedure relative to how you are supposed to install a PS3 Theme.
Here is a picture of it.
http://i27.tinypic.com/fbg5s.jpg
It basically states the following:
1) Select Game icon from PS3 Home menu.
2) Highlight this theme and select it by pressing X
3) Push the Triangle button to access the Options menu
4) Select “Set as theme” and follow onscreen instructions to finalize the configuration.
As you can see, this is incorrect and it has been like this since forever!
Can you fix it? Thanks

At a guess, 90% of people here want to see Sony reacting and fixing oh-so-many issues. Please address this, ASAP. The articles are simple misdirection and the community has spoken up (with an overwhelming majority). Listen to your customers, Sony, or you’ll end up suffering in the long-term.
