Hello and welcome to the Interpol: The Trail of Dr. Chaos post where all things hidden are good things!
Interpol: The Trail of Dr. Chaos (available September 10 for €9.99/£7.99) is a Hidden Object Game, the first of its kind on the PS3.
For those who are not familiar with this type of game, go back to your childhood and remember the “I Spy” and “Where’s Wally” books, in which you needed to locate cleverly hidden objects or characters within the pages of a book. Now imagine that coming to life in vibrant living HD colour on your PlayStation 3!
In this wildly addictive genre of games, you will travel around the globe (virtually, of course!) and unravel puzzles in order to gather hidden clues from exotic and remote locations, investigating elaborate crime scenes and overcoming treacherous mini-games along the journey.
Interpol: The Trail of Dr. Chaos is sure to provide many hours of challenge as we immersed you in over 40 exciting levels and puzzles. The mini-adventures takes place around the world in locations such as Hollywood, New York City, Tokyo, St. Petersburg, Monte Carlo, Interpol Head Quarters, and more!
One of the features I’m most excited about is the multiplayer co-op mode. This fun mode lets players both locally and via the PlayStation Network play along with up to three others. This solves the finger print problem we had on all of our monitors when someone would walk up behind us and wanted to “help” showing where something was hidden. Now they just pick up a controller and can play along.
We’ve all had a great time making this game for you. Our artists have meticulously recreated this puzzle adventure in High Definition graphics, providing a stunning, one of a kind experience.
Our team of writers have taken the original story line and re-envisioned it for PlayStation 3, providing for an all new adventure.
And our team of engineers (who by the way LOVE Trophies) have implemented fun Trophies to reward you as you play through the game. Additionally, they’ve included mouse support as well as custom music support so you can jam along to your own tunes as you play.
Please do let us know what you think, as we’ve got more adventures for you in the future!

the price to me seems very steep for what it is and after seing the vids on youtube for the xbox version it doesnt seem worth the price tag looks more like it should be on the DS in all fairness

I agree with No. 1, would be suited for the DS. Maybe there’s a niche market for this genre somewhere, but I don’t know.

You know what….kinda think PSN needed a game like this…finally one of these in HD! And with Custom Soundtracks…perfect.
So is it 720p or 1080p?

Posted on 10 September, 2009 at 7:13 pm by Alex Tikhman
Interpol can be played in both 720p and 1080p. If you’re system is set up for 1080p, this will be your default setting for the game.

Just discovered the game in the ps store heads up info, and the title made me want to see more. So, after seeing it out, it’s a buy
Looks great. Nice work

Looks interesting I might give it a go. Pity the missions are timed that is the only downside for me.
Posted on 10 September, 2009 at 7:22 pm by Alex Tikhman
Hi Lucreto…I think you’ll find that Interpol was designed an balanced to give pretty adequate time for solving puzzles, while still keepng the game challenging.

WhiteWolf, I have informed Sony of the situation and they are looking into it. Please let us know if the situation persists once you’ve tried to download it again.

Mouse support and custom music got me hooked right away. Gonna buy this today. Cheers Alex Tikhman for putting some extra effort on PS3 version, I have played the demo on x360 already but waited for a release on PS3 wich is a perfect machine for this kind a game because it can offer just mouse and keyboard if developers add support for it. Once again thanx.
Would be nice if more games used mouse and or keyboard support when it can be used enjoyable. Some games just dont work with hk so adding mouse or keyboard is one way forward. Possibilities is endless on PS3 for just that reason.

I have just had the same problem as WhiteWolf. It registered the sale i go to download it and i get an error code. Then my system freezes i get back online and i’m slapped in the face with a Network maintenance message. i don’t recall seeing a post about any maintenance today. Oh well single player it is then
Posted on 10 September, 2009 at 7:57 pm by Alex Tikhman
welshwelder, Sony did a store update quite late today. They could still be finalizing some stuff on the backend, but the situation should be resolved soon.

Wow! This appeared out of nowhere! I’ll be sure to give it a try soon as it’s a style of game I’ve not tried for quite some time. My connection is pretty awful so does anyone have a rough size the game weighs in at?

Posted on 10 September, 2009 at 8:21 pm by Apnomis
Is this the same as the XBox version, are there any differences? It’s a shame SCEE’s new exchange rate policy makes games like this more expensive in the UK than they are on the 360 – it’s only £6.80 on the Xbox (and was out in July)…
Posted on 10 September, 2009 at 8:23 pm by Alex Tikhman
Hello Apnomis, Interpol PSN has HD images, multple new cities, puzzles, and more. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

@Alex: Mouse support = great
Honestly, I’ve not read a lot of good things about this, though it looks interesting.
Could you point me in a direction where I can find more information about the differences since the Box version?
“Our team of writers have taken the original story line and re-envisioned it for PlayStation 3, providing for an all new adventure.”
After reading some reviews, I was not expecting something good, but now I might get it!, could you please elaborate^ or link^ about that statement?
Thank you.

Hi Vaistrat, Interpol PSN has HD visuals, multiple new levels, new puzzles, and much more. I’m sure you will enjoy it!

Finally i downloaded the game after a few errors. I don’t have a HDTV just jet (probably next month). So now i have to play it on my SDTV 4:3. And i have to tell you, playing the game on a 4:3 SDTV isn’t good for your eyes.
But the game is very fun to play at a decent price point. I can’t wait playing it on my future HDTV. Also nice that the game will have add-on content in the future. looking forward to it.
Good job Tik games

I have this on Xbox 360. It would be good if the developer releases the second one this time first on PlayStation 3 too.

Alex. Cheers for the news about including mouse or keyboard support in future games as well. I think many will be happy with the news as this will also hopefully make more developers include mouse or keyboard support in there games wich is many old pc gamers favourite choice. Keep us updated with more news about upcomming games from you.

Bought it and while it’s ok, what’s spoiling it for me at the moment is I can barely make out some of the words of the items I’m searching for, choice of colours on that part seems poor.

Hi Alex,
I’ve gone one trophy left to get, but I think it’s broken…
“Wham, Bam”
It says …
“Complete a City Location in less than 30 seconds”
To me this implies I have to complete one of the 3 locations in a city in less than 30 seconds. I’ve done this more than once now, and no trophy.
Or is it a case of that I would have to complete ALL 3 locations in a city within 30 seconds?! if so that is nigh on impossible.
