Yo Vid Pickers,
So we have announced the Editors exclusive for this week.. (you are welcome;)) but you didn’t honestly think that is all we have for you this week did you? Ye of little faith! We got the usual top quality updates to keep you locked to VidZone until we update it all over again.
Well without further ado , let’s get stuck in to a large slice of update pie!
Home Page Features
Artist of the week
UK, Germany, France, Australia
Shakira – The flexible Latino songtress is back with “She Wolf” which showcases both her stunning vocals and flexibility. Watch the new video and all other Shakira videos here
Ireland, Italy and Spain
Sean Kingston – Pint size Floridian Sean Kingston wants us all to keep the “Fire Burning” with his single, not sure what that actually means but it’s a very good comeback all the same.
Music from Adverts
We are here to help you out with all those tunes you really like that you heard on a random advert but were then never able to find.
Remember These Hits?
Of course you do, but you didn’t realise until now. All the videos you had forgotten about but are quite frankly… Brilliant!
TV Stars
You love TV talent shows… we know this in fact we know you love TV in general so we thought why not compile all the stars of TV that have made it to making their very own music videos (well not made them themselves… you know what I mean) and here it is.
Playlists
Mercury Music prize Winner – Speech Debelle
If you didn’t know (and there are lots of people that didn’t) Speech Debelle is a poet come rapper who grew up in a middle class neighbourhood in south London. With her first album “Speech Therapy” she was chosen as the first female winner of the prestigious Mercury Music Prize since Miss Dynamite in 2002. I personally think she is a very worthy winner, but you can make a decision for yourself by checking out all her videos and videos from other Mercury nominated artists here.
Pop Classics
Cheesy pop, credible pop, punk pop, electro pop, slow pop, fast pop, hip-hop pop… you got it… We have grouped all the best classic pop music videos for you to choose from.
Mood Music
Emotive, chilled and sometimes a little weird. These videos are well worth a watch (and listen) and we think they will put you in the very best of moods. Stop me if I’m wrong. Videos from the likes of Grizzly Bear and Faithless.
Live Music Video
There is nothing better than going to see your favourite band live, or is there… What about going to see ALL your favourite artists play live in the order that you want! Ok, so you might not quite get the atmosphere as if you were actually there, but you also don’t have to pay for overpriced beer and get your feet trodden on.
Interviews
Sometimes…sometimes, the people who make the music you love also have something interesting to say in real life, and when that happens, it is great to hear what they have to say. So we have gathered up all the best interviews from these interesting people in one place so you can see for yourself.

Another great update, cheerz
BTW in response to your reply to my comment in the earlier Vidzone thread, I attempted deletion of another video off of my 80+ playlist, and it disappeared no problem. However, the track “Salva Mea” by Faithless, no matter how many times i “delete” it, it just doesn’t go anywhere. I emailed to the address supplied with this info.

New playlists today are great, when can we expect a change in Vidzone that is not just the addition of playlists or new videos? Everyone is waiting for the software to change!! better Search, Widescreen, HQ videos….

Great to sea Vidone’s getiing better and beter!
One thing that I’ve wonderred for a while though… is there keyboard support in this app? Because its rather time consuming searching for something specific and having to scroll up and down all the way through the wheel to get to the letter you want.

Obviously, no word on when Belgium gets VidZone…
I love the “Music from adverts” idea, that’s just totally awesome, I’m always finding myself wondering what the heck the music in this or that commercial is.
Hurry up and get it to Belgium

@Ben: If Vidzone comes out in the Netherlands… will it also have ‘The Best of Bollywood’ section…?
Please release it soon in the Netherlands
Posted on 10 September, 2009 at 5:23 pm by Ben Creasey
Hi Shad_91

just wondering is there a way that i could posssible save a whole recomended playlist without adding each song i was looking 2 do this with the ’80s’ playlist but nvr found a way and now its gone
Posted on 10 September, 2009 at 5:33 pm by Ben Creasey
Hey Wright316uk
You can add a whole playlist to your Now Playing playlist by pressing triangle when you are over the title of the playlist you want to add. This will give you the option to add the whole playlist to your Now Playing and from there you can save your now playing list as your own playlist.
Hope that makes sense?!?

I love VidZone, it’s an awesome service, but I barely use it because the interface is awful! If you guys could just upgrade the text input to use the standard PS3 virtual keyboard rather than that terrible scroll wheel search taken from a 1980s arcade machine!
Posted on 10 September, 2009 at 5:26 pm by Ben Creasey
Hi iCubPro
We will have loads of improvements available shortly. Please be patient and I think you will be pleasantly surprised

I’m trusting you on this one, VidZone-peeps!

There is so much to VidZone that I keep missing out. I actually sometimes can’t believe how much content is actually being put into this application.
Music from advertisements for example. Sometimes you can find a really catchy tune on an advertisement and then when it finishes you are left wondering what the hell it was. Who knows, might just crop up on Vidzone?
Thanks for the update guys, I’ll make sure to check this out tonight.

What have you done to the Australian Vidzone? The background looks horrible. Yellow isn’t the best colour.

Posted on 10 September, 2009 at 5:40 pm by SolidusDave
a lot of the music I liked was deleted since VidZone was released
(e.g. Rammstein, Farmer Boys etc.)
Don’t see much new songs of my genres to make up for it.
also, the censored videos/music are annoying, just build in a “yes, I’m 18″ check, this is not the USA.
I liked the VidZone service the bets in its first week for these reasons :/
but the service itself is great because It’s free so whatever.

I’ll like the Editors playlist and I think they’re pretty cool, but for reasons unknown I can’t bring myself to buy anything of theirs.
Please can we have more Ferry Corsten?

Thanks for the service, but I assume I am not alone in saying a new search method is needed, it just takes forever to search for anything

I’m trying so hard to keep my enthusiasm for Vidzone, which has so much potential, but until the interface is completely overhauled and made user-friendly in even the slightest way, I’m going to have to give up on it.
Please, please sort the interface out! This could be the best music service around.
Would it help if I begged and added unnecessary punctuation in the form of sadfaces??!!?!?!?!

Great news! VidZone is the best app the PS3 has.
Any chance of upping the bitrate/quality for those with fast internet speeds? At full-screen the picture gets a bit blurry on a 1080 screen. I’d pay a fee for better quality!

MUSE MUSE MUSE MUSE!!!! can you tell we like Muse? hahaha. some Muse vidz would be saweeeet!
hey at least this time they made a yellow BG they changed the text colour too. last time it was yellow i couldnt see FA so i left it for a few weeks.
some pretty cool playlists this week. thanx guys.
ps. im looking forward to the software update.
pps. dont take it to usa. they already get everything. let the pal regions reign supreme for once.
plus they can already get a service very similar to this with windows media center. MTV!! but vidzone is waaaay better than their mtv garbage!
