Yo Vid Pickers,
So we have announced the Editors exclusive for this week.. (you are welcome;)) but you didn’t honestly think that is all we have for you this week did you? Ye of little faith! We got the usual top quality updates to keep you locked to VidZone until we update it all over again.
Well without further ado , let’s get stuck in to a large slice of update pie!
Home Page Features
Artist of the week
UK, Germany, France, Australia
Shakira – The flexible Latino songtress is back with “She Wolf” which showcases both her stunning vocals and flexibility. Watch the new video and all other Shakira videos here
Ireland, Italy and Spain
Sean Kingston – Pint size Floridian Sean Kingston wants us all to keep the “Fire Burning” with his single, not sure what that actually means but it’s a very good comeback all the same.
Music from Adverts
We are here to help you out with all those tunes you really like that you heard on a random advert but were then never able to find.
Remember These Hits?
Of course you do, but you didn’t realise until now. All the videos you had forgotten about but are quite frankly… Brilliant!
TV Stars
You love TV talent shows… we know this in fact we know you love TV in general so we thought why not compile all the stars of TV that have made it to making their very own music videos (well not made them themselves… you know what I mean) and here it is.
Playlists
Mercury Music prize Winner – Speech Debelle
If you didn’t know (and there are lots of people that didn’t) Speech Debelle is a poet come rapper who grew up in a middle class neighbourhood in south London. With her first album “Speech Therapy” she was chosen as the first female winner of the prestigious Mercury Music Prize since Miss Dynamite in 2002. I personally think she is a very worthy winner, but you can make a decision for yourself by checking out all her videos and videos from other Mercury nominated artists here.
Pop Classics
Cheesy pop, credible pop, punk pop, electro pop, slow pop, fast pop, hip-hop pop… you got it… We have grouped all the best classic pop music videos for you to choose from.
Mood Music
Emotive, chilled and sometimes a little weird. These videos are well worth a watch (and listen) and we think they will put you in the very best of moods. Stop me if I’m wrong. Videos from the likes of Grizzly Bear and Faithless.
Live Music Video
There is nothing better than going to see your favourite band live, or is there… What about going to see ALL your favourite artists play live in the order that you want! Ok, so you might not quite get the atmosphere as if you were actually there, but you also don’t have to pay for overpriced beer and get your feet trodden on.
Interviews
Sometimes…sometimes, the people who make the music you love also have something interesting to say in real life, and when that happens, it is great to hear what they have to say. So we have gathered up all the best interviews from these interesting people in one place so you can see for yourself.

Hi Ben,
couldn’t you tell us some kind of timetable? Like: “In two weeks were gonna open up Vidzone to following countries, in four weeks there’s gonna be a new update”, etc.??
For everybody else. There is a trick to use VidZone in the countries which don’t have it yet. Don’t know if it’s illegal or whatever. A friend of mine showed me on his PS3
1. make a new user
2. make a new PSN account. When the app asks you which country you’re from give UK, Germany or France.
3. VidZone checks the IP. You have to use a Proxy Server. Here’s a good list: proxy.speedtest.at. Click on “transparent IP”.
4. Search a corresponding IP (Germany, UK, etc)
5. Go under Network Settings
6. “Use Proxy server”
7. Give in the data. If you’re proxy is like this 192.168.4.4:8080 then 192.168.4.4 is the IP and 8080 is the port number.
8. Download the VidZone app from the PSN store. I think it’s stored on the UK shop under “other media” and then “apps” or something like that.
8. Enjoy VidZone!
Sometimes the connection is bad, so you have to change the Proxy.

hey, 1st i’d like to say thank you for not letting the americans have this yet. now they know what its like to feel left behind. brilliant.
secondly, i agree with alot of the comments about it being quite user unfriendly. theres easy ways to fix this and im sure your working on them. just simply adding a way to use a keyboard when searching or even just letting you imput the letters the same way you would in a normal psn message, with the on screen keyboard.
thirdly, are you planning on uploading some videos from unsigned uk artists? or just unsigned acts in general…theres loads of great bands out there what nobody knows about. maybe have a video compitition and let the playstation community decide on what gets uploaded. you could even have a full unsigned section with highly voted on bands. just a thought like, i know i enjoy watching low budget band videos on youtube

HAH. /Sony laughs like an evildoer does
This is just wrong. Get the contracts sorted out and give this apps to the Nordics (Norway, Denmark, FINLAND, Sweden and maybe even Iceland) as well. Distribute it as Beta or something, we don’t care if it’s in English or what. We just want to get our monies worth! It’s totally unfair to favour other PS3 owners. We all have bought the console and paid the same amount of money from it, but yet Brits and French get more than we do? WAT THE –

I still don’t understand why vidzone doesn’t have ps store’s interface, it has a video player, text search, loads very fast, always updated…Why i have to download all the library to my ps3? Do you have benefits with it, saving that much money with this measures is abusive.

Hi there agains.
BUG REPORT in vidzone:
There is an FATAL ERROR in Vidzone. It doesn’t take into account PS3’s button configuration.
Take a Japanese PS3 (CECHA00). Its OK button is “O (circle) button” and its CANCEL button is “X (cross) button”.
ALL THE PROGRAMS take PS3′s button config except some very few PSN mini games (pinball IIRC) and Vidzone which is forcing cross for OK and circle for CANCEL.
Thanks for your attention and prompt fix.
I think it’s an easy fix, you just have to use some system variables (like OK_BUTTON, CANCEL_BUTTON) instead of direct key-IDs.
