Judging from what we read in the comments and the response to our MAG leadership trailer earlier this month, your trigger fingers are itching to wage into battle in the biggest multiplayer shooter ever seen on a console.
Enabling 256 players to occupy the same battlefield is no small feat, and Zipper Interactive now needs to test the game’s servers. This is where you come in (cue Uncle Sam poster).
To sign up for the MAG beta, head to eu.playstation.com/competitions and follow the instructions. That’s it – no questions or puzzles, just one big beta free-for-all.
A few things to consider:
- Up to 16,000 Promotional Codes will be distributed via email on a first come, first served basis. They will be sent out in weekly batches, so don’t give up hope if you don’t get yours straight away
- This is a beta, not a demo. This version of the game will contain bugs and other problems; these will be fixed before the game’s release
- The beta will be open for six hours a day, Monday to Friday. These times are 5pm to 8pm and midnight to 3am, GMT (although they may vary)
- Check the terms and conditions at eu.playstation.com/terms before applying to see if your region is included
- You cannot sign up to the beta via the PS3 browser. Sign ups are currently PC (and Mac) only.

Und dabei müsste Sony keine Angst haben. Titel die nicht auf einem Medium erscheinen (Blu-Ray) sind davon doch nicht betroffen soweit ich weiß. Und die MAG Beta kommt bestimmt nicht auf einem Medium.

Getting the following error:
“Based on your PlayStation Network details, you are not eligible to enter this competition. This may be due to individual country laws regarding minimum age and competition entry requirements.”
yet in the Terms and Conditions it says:
“This promotion is open to residents of Austria, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over.”
As The Netherlands is included, and that’s where I’m from and where my PSN ID is registered from, I don’t understand why it’s not working. Can you fix this perhaps?

In addition to number 29 and 31 (which is me): I figured it out!
The link you’ve provided in the blog entry pointed towards the UK competitions page, which for some reason didn’t allow me access. However when I changed the uk bit of the url to nl, it suddenly worked: http://nl.playstation.com/psn/competitions/
So if you don’t get in, try your local competitions page!

I get the same message as KeizerKuzco in post 29 above only I live in Sweden (also included in the list) and I’m for sure 18 or above.
There must be an error somewhere. Does it have to do with havign sub-accounts connected or is the list of countries just wrong?

I am paying Sony money with my CC via PSN, something i could not do if i were under 18 years… Yet still germany dos treat me like a 6 year old even though i am 28.
I´ed like to request a age verivication service for germany. Not for this demo, but in genneral, might come in handy with the Videostore aswell.

Gosh – I’m really sorry for letting it our now, but we (german) are always handicapped, because you guys doesn’t work on a solution – we are talking about the last 2 1/2 years -, that adults get their adult-content!

It worked for me to register once I used my country specific playstation web (se.playstation.com) instead of the generic european one (eu.playstation.com).

Agreed, the server times are not ideal. However, as a previous poster mentioned, these times have been chosen to work across as many regions as possible. Outside of these times the team will be working on server tweaks and fixes to continually improve the game experience, ready for you to test in the next session. There are two sessions per day, so hopefully the majority of people will be able to get in for a little while at some point each day.

Try your local playstation homepage, it worked for me eventually. For some reason I got send to the UK page, which showed me the error when logging in. However on the Dutch page, NL.playstation.com, it worked. So maybe for you SE.playstation.com will work?
