Hi everyone,
I’m Olivier, I work for Nobilis as the product manager of Trine and I’m really happy to be able to tell you that it’s now available on the European PlayStation Store!
This long-expected innovative action / platform game that combines 2D gameplay with 3D graphics is finally here! Acclaimed by players throughout the world and designated as “Best E3 Downloadable Game” by Gamespot.
Three heroes are bound to a mysterious device called the Trine in a quest to save the kingdom from evil and the player can at any time freely choose whoever is best suited for the upcoming challenge or puzzle.
Trine is balanced between action and puzzle solving sequences which are just fantastic to play. Thanks to an extensive use of physics, you’ll be able to solve puzzles in many different ways, whether you play alone by switching characters or alongside with a friend (up to 3 players simultaneously on the same system). Just take a peek at this trailer and you’ll get a sense of what I’m talking about!
For those of you who always on the hunt for trophies, rest assured! I’m thrilled to announce that Trine has full support for Trophies and also features a Platinum Trophy as the ultimate reward!
I realize that many of you have been waiting to get your hands on Trine for some time. I’d like to assure you all that we are deeply sorry about this delay. We worked really hard in order to give you the best experience possible playing Trine and we really hope you’ll enjoy it.
One more thing, don’t forget to get all the experience vials that you can pickup throughout the levels! With them you’ll be able to improve the abilities of your characters and become an even bigger threat to your enemies!
Trine is available for download today on the European PlayStation Store for: €19,99 and £15.99.

What a load of rubbish that was on twitter. Still £16 is a rip off when I can get Killzone 2 in the high street for £18.
Let me know when you come to your sences and reduce the price.

Awesome game, worth the 199 sek although the exchange rates are weird it should’ve been 150 -160 sek or something. Too bad it hasn’t got online co-op that would make it so much better and fun. Are they planning on doing anything more to it, add stuff and so on?

Wow, this is stupid. I should’ve won the third key, but they gave it to the wrong person. Just check this link: http://bit.ly/2xBDay …
“I’m” are actually TWO words, you know… :/

@ mikeuk2004
you wouldn’t be saying that if you had won, it’s always hard to win those kind of things but you just have to be quick. They just gave away 3 free games, that’s far from a load of rubbish.
@ Stretch1990
ah bad luck. I had a feeling 7 would be the number, tried it on the first code too but that was wrong (or I was too slow)
The girlfriend is playing the game now, looks very interesting. Only thing I’d criticise so far is a fair amount of aliasing going on along the platform edges.

On Twitter : “we’ll have more game codes coming in the future.” You mean, like this competion, for free game? That would be great considering I missed the opportunity today.

Seriously? 199 DKK? 199 DKK, = £24.08 / 26.74 €. The game that was supposed to be cheaper on PSN…. Currently costs €19.99 on Steam. Considering the game is already really short, and has no online play, I’ll PASS.

No Demo, No Purchase!
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Never again!

Depends on whether you consider I’m as one word or two. Personally I say it’s two, just because you abbreviate doesn’t reduce the word count

Got the game, it’s great, plays like a dream and is loads of fun in co-op mode.
I also had some money sitting in my wallet from absolutely ages ago, so I only paid about £12.50 for it.

Bought, played and completed.
Beautiful game, loved every minute of it! Just going through and collecting all the experience/trophies now.
Can we expect a patch at all in the future to give us proper icons for the trophies? At the moment they’re just standard trophy icons.

i am a little dissapointed that the game does not feature online coop. i thought it would be integrated.

@MikLSP
You reckon it’s worth buying for £15.99 or money better spent on another psn title ?

Looks like a nice game but I´m not willing to put down 200 sek for the game if I can´t try it first.
Also, I´m confused, can you play the game on your own or do you need to be 2-3 player to play it?
If you can play it on your own, does it get harder (is it different puzzles) if you´re 2 or 3 people playing?
Posted on 22 September, 2009 at 5:13 pm by Olivier Vermeille
Hi makingdamage,
You can play on your own, you can play at 2 players and you can play at 3 players.
When you’re on your own you just switch between the characters and use the one you need!
When you’re more than one people it can get easier or harder it depends on the people you play with

You can play the game on your own, and it will generally be easier on your own.

I bought the game yesterday, and i think it is great! Really great graphics and intuitive gameplay. It reminds me of Lost Vikings, which was also a great game. I think it is worth the price, it’s a quality game after all.
On another note, i just exchanged my old PS3 for the Slim! I think the Slim is even more good looking and stylish than the original once was. Loving the Slim and the 3.0 Sony, thanks!

19,95€ ?!? It’s too expensive for just a PSN-Game! If it costs less 15 Euro’s i would buy it. It’s a kind of principle. Give high prices no chance!

Hi. Thanks for Trine, it’s a great game, I’m loving it. It’s pretty hard on hard, and the graphics are very very sweet indeed. I’m happy I bought it.
I think the pricing sukcs though. Here in Norway the game costs UK £21 or US $30. What’s up with that? Why is it so cheap in the UK and US?

Update: The in US dollars it’s actually 34$. Still, the price differences are annoying at best.

£16 is a tad too steep for a game that I hear is rather short and has no online co-op. Something like £11.99 would have been more attactive. I know it’s only 4 quid but it just all adds up in the end. There are so many big games coming out in the next couple of months, I’m gonna need every pound from my limited income.
I guess I’ll have to wait until I can afford the game or hope the price will come down eventually.

Now that Sony are seeing people willing to drop £15.99 on PSN games, I can see a lot more coming with that price bracket. Afterall, they released Fat Princess for £11.99 and what happened next, more titles arrived for £11.99.
They will keep increasing the prices when they see people are mug enough to keep being mugged.
Fed up with games not having demos, so won’t be buying them.

people would be more inclined to buy a game at that price if there was a demo.
it’s different with a disc game because with a disc game, if you don’t like it you can trade it in, or maybe even rent it first with this you’re stuck with it even if you think it’s the worst game you’ve ever played, though i doubt this will fall into that category.

I’ve been waiting for Trine for a while but at that price I’ll wait a bit longer and read a few reviews. I think at that sort of price point you really need to get a demo out there so people can try it out

Excellent game, very enjoyable, worth every penny. Don’t forget it’s not a standard PSN game it’s much bigger which is why it has a platinum trophy.

First of all Trine is good but it’s not worth the price. It’s very short with 15 levels. The so-called enemies can be taken care of in no time and you wont struggle with it if you try. Finding the experience vials can be tricky at times but overall there’s nothing too hard.
There is no co-op, no online, 5 types of enemy, very little puzzles to work out and while you do get a slight sense that you’ve achieved something, the platforms etc. are easy to work around too.
Combat is pretty straight forward and doesn’t wary at all. Eventually you’ll end up needed your secondary weapons once or twice.
You can go through the game in 4-5 hours and during that time you’ll have found the majority of everything you’re looking to collect. Other than that you can take the plunge, buy it and form your own opinion or wait in hope for a demo.

Not buying it at this price of 34 USD (199 NOK). Thanks SCEE for screwing us over more than Valve does 19.99 Euro (29.40 USD) -> 172.50 NOK

No. Nononononononononono!!!
You don’t release games this expensive and NOT release a demo. The time you guys spent prepping Trine for us, yet failing to have a demo alongside it for people not willing to dive into their pocket, is marketing insanity. But, it seems like Olivier won’t be paying attention anyway…I wish Sir Mike would post more, he actually seems more human than the rest of SCEE…
Anyway, to stop rambling and give a Tip: I’d recommend everyone save money and give a WarHawk a go. From what i’ve heard around some message boards, Trine is incredibly short. Hold out for a Demo if they bother to make one.
In 4 months time.
