Howdy all, another week, another dollop of content for you all
I know it’s a tough act to follow last week’s offering, but I think we’ve done a good job of carrying on the momentum – but I leave it to you to see what you think.
Heavy Weapon joins the PSN game list on the store, we have three demos for you this week, starting with Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, then a slice of Lost Planet 2 (with those extra bits to play for us PS3 owners) and if you didn’t check out The Punisher: No Mercy when it was released a while back, we also have a demo for that title now available too.
The standout bit of content this week for me (and that’s because I am a self-confessed fanboy) is the Broken Steel pack for Fallout 3, but we also have more challenges for Batman: Arkham Asylum, and extra content for UFC Unleashed 2009, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, Madden NFL 10, Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Speaking of Guitar Hero we also have some special offers on a selection of tracks for this week only, and there are more details on this in the content list below.
For our PSP users you can test your rallying skills with Colin McRae DiRT 2, play with your food in Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs as well as get additional content for Prinny, and Rock Band Unplugged.
Not too shabby this week eh? As usual, leave your thoughts in the comments section and I’ll do my best to respond to as many as possible.
Special Offers
As detailed last week, PixelJunk Racers, High Velocity Bowling, Super Stardust HD Double Pack, Echochrome Micro and Disney’s Action Game feat. Hercules are still on special offer this week, however, we also have the below Guitar Hero Tracks available for one week only starting today:

Mike, we know there will be at least two DLC packs for Dirt 2 (The names of them are actually listed in the game).
Any idea if they are on the horizon?

Hi Mike! I know this is the EU forum and all, but us Yankees don’t get any answers on the bloody US board… Would you happen to know when us gits will be gettin’ Trine over in the states? Much thanks, Tiger
Posted on 24 September, 2009 at 10:47 am by Mike Kebby
Sorry Tiger, I wouldn’t comment on any release dates for the US even if I knew, I’m not going to step on my US counterparts toes.

Any comments on Trine’s price on the danish store last week? Was it an error that’s getting fixed, or does Denmark indeed have to pay 33% more than UK and the €-countries.

Another week, another pathetic update. Seems last week was a break from the norm, and now standard service has been resumed.
You do know that the PSPgo comes out next week, yes?! No PSone games, and 2 overpriced PSP games. Well done Sony. Honestly, miracles want to be performed next week, otherwise there is no point in spending £225(!!) on a PSPgo. FAIL. Oh, and the PSPgo accessory converter that I’ve just seen is absolutely laughable. MAJOR FAIL.
Still no TMNT for the PS3. I’ll give you a hand here: “Cowabunga Dudes” is the same in English, French, German etc… Why are we having to wait for TMNT, it’s been out on the US Store for a couple of weeks now.
Overall a completely rubbish week unless you like playing with toy guitars.

I thought we were gonna get brutal legend demo today? If it comes out while I’m uni, I’ll be sad
. Also standard question for the week: Saw demo? Even a release date? I wanna do a full game/film maraton but need to know which weekend to take off work. Thanks Mike. Good update too. Hope they support Batman AA for a long time yet.

Listen ACIDFACE don’t make me repeat myself
Zombie is delayed because of issues in QA, so hopefully with us within a few weeks or so.

Great update Mike! Finally BS in our hands! But, do you know if the 9.99€ price will be the same for all the Fallout 3 expansions? I. E. The Pitt, Mothership Zeta, etc…
In that case they’ll be more expensive than the game itself. And almost the same price as Fallout 3 GOTY Edition…

nice update. I’ll only be downloading the batman dlc and lost planet 2 demo tho. I’m waiting for the goty edition of fallout, got £30 worth of points on my game card for it lol.
cheers for the unofficial confirmation of ps2/dc games coming to the ps3 Mike :p At least I hope it’s true and Sega also release panzer dragoon saga and burning rangers.
as for ff8, does your comment mean it’s definitely coming to europe? I don’t care when it comes, just that it does, it’s my favourite ff.

Mike, I dont know if you can answer this, but here it goes. When the PSP Go gets released on Thursday next week, I intend to buy it around 9:00 when the shops open (eager beaver). I intend to download the PSP GO Gran Tourismo theme so I can get my free copy of GT, but I was reading the terms and conditions on the PSP UK website and it says the offer is on from 12:00 PM on the 1st.
Does this mean I have to wait till after mid day before downloading the theme to be counted for the offer, or will I be okay to download it straight away. I know this is probably not the place to ask, but I didn’t know who else to ask?
Posted on 24 September, 2009 at 11:34 am by Mike Kebby
I’m hoping that all this will be explained in another blog post at some point – I’m not the best person to ask.

Hi Mike,
Do you know when Motorstorm Arctic Edge is going on the store as its been in the shops for the last week? My guess is that its being held back for the pspgo launch next week.
Oh and @64
You can get a PSP Go off play.com for £199.99 which will also get you a free copy of Gran Turismo is you get it early enough. And the overpriced PSP games are actually cheaper than going into a store and buying them. If you want to save more money you can get £20 PSN cards from zavvi.co.uk for £16 (thats a 20% saving).

Listen, if you’re going to have a moan please read my comments first…
Hear, Hear! You tell ‘em Mikey!
Don’t listen to them Mike, some people don’t know the difference between a ‘bad update’ and a ‘good but nothing I fancy update’!
It’s a shame there is no way to filter the comments to only show yours, or only show comments with replies, or have a little button on the reply that jumps you to the next reply etc. That way people would be more likely to read/think before posting – even if you just put some text next to the Submit button that says something like “Please read all the Official Replies before posting in case your comment has already been addressed”.
P.S. I forgot to mention in my earlier comment, thanks for getting the update posted so early this week – you’ve been a bit late the last two weeks
Posted on 24 September, 2009 at 11:36 am by Mike Kebby
Good ideas
By the way – my updates were written and all ready well in advance the last two weeks, just seems I wasn’t that important and was bumped down the billing – this week it’s back where the PSN Store belongs, right at the top of the bill!! muhahahaha

PLEASE REPLY TO THIS. I noticed DiRT 2 for PSP is £23.99! The game is only £17.99 in most stores. I have a PSP GO on pre-order and i am now cancelling it as i don’t understand why we should have to pay more for the games. Why are they priced higher than the UMD versions? Are Sony stupid? I really wanted to get a psp go and now it just makes it un-buyable!
Posted on 24 September, 2009 at 11:37 am by Mike Kebby
I’ll reply, but I don’t have anything to say…sorry, it’s a subject I can’t get drawn into.

“I know it’s a tough act to follow last week’s offering…”
Not really if you look at it from a PSP customer’s point of view.
Would it be perhaps be a good idea to divide the Playstion blog into two separate sections; one for the PS3 platform and one for the PSP? In that way content would be easier to find and more relevant for everyone. The tag system isn’t sufficient enough, imo.

Did Mike just indirectly confirm the PS2/DC rumours?
Posted on 24 September, 2009 at 11:40 am by Mike Kebby
If one more person asks this I’m going to…well I don’t know what, but something
All I said was I’m not going to touch that one – take from that whatever you will, that seems to be how the internet works anyway…
96
Posted on 24 September, 2009 at 11:38 am by SiRobertson
I know this is completely unrelated to the Store update, sorry, but there is no where else to ask this and there is at least one cool person from SCEE (that’s you Mike) with an eye on these comments.
When is the SingStar space in Home going to be available? Sony cannot make it available this evening (6-8pm) because the amount of downloads and user logins that space is going to get will (more than likely) kill the Home servers, not something anyone will want just before the Rizzee Rascal event starts.
Thanks, and sorry for the off-topicness again.

Ok, i read about zombie apocalypse? Why hasn’t this been done yet, its ridiculous. The xbox live team manage to get games online and a day before, and not just a day before they do it right in the morning and we have to wait till ‘some time after 6′ HIRE MORE STAFF FOR GOD SAKE! This isnt a personal attack on you Mike its just ridiculous! Il come and work for you if you want il make sure content is released on time. lol maybe its not as easy as i make out but xbox live team manage.
Posted on 24 September, 2009 at 11:45 am by Mike Kebby
I know it’s not personal dude – I don’t know how MS do it, but they obviously have a different QA process than us – unfortunately it something fails QA once, it adds weeks to the release date, because of the need to resubmit and try to get through QA again.
