Earlier today, Kaz Hirai kicked off Tokyo Game Show with a keynote speech that unveiled some interesting tid bits about the future of PlayStation. Customarily starting with some sales figures, it was revealed that the new slimmer PS3 has sparked a massive sales surge, with over 1 million PS3s sold through to consumers worldwide in the three weeks since its launch on September 1st.
Hirai also showed off the motion controller, reiterating that they would be released in the Spring of 2010. They feature a pair of motion sensors, a three axes gyroscope and a three axes accelerometer, along with Bluetooth and a rechargable Li-on battery. A list of games in development for the peripherals was revealed, though there’s no word on which of these will be available outside of Japan. On top of that, it was confirmed that PAIN, Flower, Hustle Kings, High Velocity Bowling and EyePet will get compatability patches to add motion controller functionality. LittleBigPlanet and Resident Evil 5 were also demonstrated to be working with the motion controllers.
The PSPgo will also be getting a couple of new peripherals in January – a Bluetooth Stereo Head Set Receiver and a Converter Cable Adapter. The latter will allow you to use any PSP 1000 – 3000 peripheral with the PSPgo. These will be available in Europe and Japan. The European price will be €39.99 for the Bluetooth Head Set and €14.99 for the Converter Cable Adapter.
If the 120GB hard drive in the new PS3s isn’t big enough for you, you’ll be happy to hear that a 250GB version will be out in October in Europe (no word on 250GB bundles coming to America) . It will be bundled with various games and will retail for €349.99 (£284.99). We’ll have more details for you soon.
Finally, Gran Turismo 5 now has a solid Japanese release date – March. An European release date will be announced in due course.
We’ll be looking to go into more detail with the above information over the coming weeks.

I’m sorry but you guys working for need to till them that using half the dual shock to use the Joy stick is just epic fail you guys better do something about this or no one is going to buy it.
so far every where i read about this joke of an idea has just Sony look like a LAZY bunch is it that hard to add a joy stick on to the wand.
If u don’t do this put it this way Sony just wasted a crap load of money to make this thing. Cause holding the DS3 in one hand feels wrong and stupid.
Wake up god damn it and stop being lazy.

My God Sony ,you had it so well and you ruin it ….
The Wand NEEDS an analogue stick ….the DS3/Wand solution is awkward and should be only used for players that DONT want to spend in a second Wand or Nunchuk-like device as the last option.
The IDEAL solution would be:
1)Two WANDS ,with the left one having an analogue stick.
But ,if this is impossible due to cost ,then the second best would be:
1)Wand on the RIGHT hand ,and on the LEFT hand a nunchuk-like device ,smaller that the DS3.
Finally ,the DS3 could be used as solution for people that dont want to buy the nunchuk device.Sell separately the Wand and the nunchuk ,and if people are cheap and dont want to spend on the Nunchuk ,then let them use the DS3 …
Please Sony ,rectify on this ….

LAST!
I’m loving these controllers. I think they have much more potential than Natal, if Sony put some serious effort into getting game developer to create interesting games for it.
Sony should think about having a week where a select group of PSN games are free, to introduce gamers to new game developers.

LOOK HERE, is that the final design for the motion controller? Please tell me it isn’t. Do the people who are making that controller even play games? No Analog stick? Why play RES Evil 5 with two different types of controllers when all you need to do is turn that big black button on the front of the motion controller into a mini analog stick like the psp that happens to be clickable.
Do you guys see us playing one hand with a motion controller and one hand with a Duelshock? Does I dont.
