Lots of first party news this week, as we end on a high with some Uncharted 2 and God of War III news. The first Brutal Legend DLC was also announced to be free for two weeks — only on PS3. There’s a lot more to check out in the list below.

The next time you start up UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves you will be required to download an update to the game.

Here’s the list of (most of) the changes we made. Some changes have been withheld to protect the innocent.

• Addressed respawn points when the artifact goes out of bounds in the Plunder gametype
• Dynamically adjust the win condition for fewer players during the course of a match
• Added features to deter players from voluntarily leaving during a match
• Added rate limit to “When a Chapter is Completed” Twitter event
• Fixed a display issue during letterboxing
• Fixed Danish Trophy description
• Fixed screenshot utility in standard definition resolutions
• Fixed the “Players Met” list not displaying recent players
• Addressed a variety of Multiplayer connectivity issues

BUT, that’s not all…

With Halloween on the horizon, we wanted to take this spooky occasion to announce that this weekend is also our first ever Double Cash Weekend in UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves. The Double Cash Weekend starts on Friday, October 30, 2009, at 6:00 PM GMT and continues until Monday, November 2, 2009, at 6:00 PM GMT.

In every match during Double Cash Weekend, you’ll be getting twice the Cash award you normally would for completing typical game actions – not medal-related currency awards – giving everyone a leg up in increasing their Rank for a limited time. That means this weekend is the perfect time to hop on to our Competitive and Co-op Multiplayer modes – whether you’re just a few levels away from the vaunted ‘X’ or this is just your first time online.

A bunch of Naughty Dogs will also be playing this weekend, so be on the lookout for the red Naughty Dog paw next to our PSN ID in the game and feel free to say hi, ask any questions or shoot at our characters. Stay sharp! There might be something spooky around the next corner…

Hi guys!

It’s Natalia from Boolat Games and I have great news for all gamers of European PlayStation Store. Maybe you’ve noticed that our 3D platformer for PlayStation 3/PSN “topatoi: The Great Tree Story” gets released at US PlayStation Store for $9.99. I hope you guys are all excited about what you’ve seen or read about this highly-anticipated PlayStation 3 exclusive. If not, you should, it’s going to be an epic, pulse-pounding and brutal adventure .

For those of you who haven’t had the chance to play the God of War III demo which was on the show floor at E3, Gamescom, Tokyo Game Show and other SCEE events throughout 2009… well… some GREAT news for you: we will be emailing out some demo voucher codes to a selected number of PAL PSN users who registered to receive the SCEE promotional newsletter. If you haven’t opted-in to receive it, it’s unfortunately too late to be in with a chance to be picked for this promotion, but it’s worth you registering today to be considered for future SCEE offers (simply go to the PlayStation Network icon on the XMB, select Account Management => Account Information => => Notification Preferences, and tick the relevant boxes).

Hi everyone,

I’m Olivier, I work for Nobilis as the product manager of Trine and I’m thrilled to tell you that the demo of Trine is now available on the European PlayStation Store!

Trine is a fantasy action / platform game that combines 2D gameplay with 3D graphics. The game is balanced between action and puzzle solving sequences which uses physics extensively. Three heroes are bound to a mysterious device called the Trine in a quest to save the kingdom from evil and the player can at any time freely choose whoever is best suited for the upcoming challenge or puzzle.

Players all around the world – and on this very blog – wanted a demo of Trine. We listened! You can download it right now on the European PSN. You’ll be able to play the first two levels of Trine in solo and in cooperative mode. Just have a go with the physics engine and the many possibilities it offers.

Some comments also mentioned that the trophies’ designs were a bit disappointing. We took that into consideration as well and released a patch two weeks ago which brought new icons for the Trophies.

You can watch this trailer and get a glimpse of the many possibilities offered by the gameplay of Trine. Just see how different obstacles can be overcome by the clever use of each character’s abilities.

Keep in mind that the possibilities are even more numerous by combining the character’s powers in cooperation!
