So, we’ve finally arrived to this week’s update – I hope you’re all ready for the rundown, as there’s a lot of content on offer this week.
Usually I list the PS3 specific content first, but seeing as this week we’re all excited about the PSP Go launch, the new Media Go store launching (replacing the PC based Media Manager application), and the first batch of minis titles hitting the store, the PSP content list will take the headlining slot today.
The minis range of titles launches with games such as Tetris, Fieldrunners, Pinball Fantasies and Hero of Sparta available (amongst others), and these bitesize games (all under 100MB) come in under the £4/€5 mark and offer a lot of value for their size!
We also have brand new PSP games released such as Gran Turismo, MotorStorm Arctic Edge, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny (with our favourite God of War Kratos featuring as a playable character) and also available from Friday morning we’ll have FIFA 10 and Beaterator.
The games for PSP don’t stop there though, with a host of legacy titles hitting the store featuring such titles as Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Midnight Club L.A. Remix and God of War: Chains of Olympus. For the full list of content scroll down a bit further and have a look at the delights in their entirety!
Also, for the added benefit of those of you new to the store, or are new to the PSP family, I have provided a full run-down of all the PSP games available via the store, there’s quite a hefty amount of title available for you.
For those of you looking for the PS3 content, we have TMNT: Turtles In Time Re-shelled available (trail and full game unlock) and a plethora of demos with Brütal Legend, Need For Speed: Shift, Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, and Up The Video Game ready for you to play. Fallout 3 has two new packs in the form of The Pitt and Operation Anchorage, and we also have additional content packs for LittleBigPlanet, FIFA 10, NBA Live 10 and others.
If none of that vast offering fills you with joy, delights, or hours of fun, then I have to question if you really enjoy playing games…well, do you? J
Until next week, take it easy and have fun!

The team are looking into the issue now, I thought it had been resolved, but unfortunately not
Apologies for the massive inconvenience and frustration caused to all of you who tried to download this over the weekend.

Just to follow up, The Pitt will now be available in the NZ store shortly.
Operation Anchorage was intended for release too, however it was not submitted for that store by mistake, therefore once we have the submission we can add this pack to the NZ store as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience all.

update on the GT PSP download and rewards for Go owners, please!?
I’m not expecting an accurate ETA, but some info on what the process is might help? have you been inundated with thousands of new PSPgo owners? is it a manual process for some reason?
I’ve only heard a few people who have their codes, lots of people still haven’t had anything.
I know there is a get out clause in the offers, but for a fully Digital, download only device, registered electronically, I’d have thought most people would have had their codes almost instantly. Or at least on the Friday.
Posted on 5 October, 2009 at 10:41 am by Mike Kebby
I don’t deal with the process KlawUK, all I know is that codes are sent directly to the consumer within a certain amount of time (I believe it’s supposed to be a week maybe?, sorry.

Now that the PSP Go has been released, are the PSP store updates going to, in general, include more content every week? I’m not saying every week should add as much as this one did, but are the weekly updates going to be a bit larger than they have been, on average, from now on?

Mike, just wondering. Are the Fallout dlcs coming to PSN Europe anyway? If there would have been a problem they should have been able to get it on psn? I put money on my psn to be able to buy them… just confused.

Why have the Australian & New Zealand PSN Stores been short-changed? If SCEE don’t see fit to give us the same content as Europe, the LEAST they could do is offer us an explanation.
Why do we not have Tetris, for example?
Posted on 7 October, 2009 at 12:47 pm by Mike Kebby
I answer this question constantly (i.e. every single week); the publisher decides which stores to submit content to, we cannot force them to release content into every store, there can be varying reasons why they decide not to release in certain countries, but we are seeing content released into the majority of stores more frequently, however, this is not always the case.

Hi Mike, in response to your reply to #570
I don’t think the users that show their discontent here are aiming the responsibility for the lack of content towards you. And, even though I believe we all understand your explanation that the publishers are to be blamed for the lack or delay of content, our protests have the sole intention to 1) demonstrate our dissatisfaction since we have NO alternative, 2) request your best efforts to contradict this tendency and 3) make sure this isn’t forgotten because you guys don’t have access to all other stores, or if you do, you don’t visit them that often, which is perfectly understandable.
But, hey, like I said, we have no alternative, and much more than explanations, with all due respect, we just wanted some pressure on those publishers to make them realize we are complaining. And why do we ask for that pressure? Be sure we would make that pressure on the producers and developers, but they don’t care for our complaints saying we should complain lack of content to SCEE, not them… So who’s to blame? We’ve passed that coin tossing stage, I believe.

Hi Mike,
I’ve been reading a few of the comments over the pages and noticed that you are always very helpful. I have just one simple question to ask – I am planning on buying a PSP Go, but am disappointed at the lack of content on the UK store at the moment (mainly PSP games).
I know you had a massive update with legacy UMD titles last week because of the Go’s launch, but are there plans on having similar-sized updates in the coming weeks for all the new Go owners? Because there are loads of games I’m interested in that just aren’t on the store right now, and for that reason alone the Go would be a bit of a pointless purchase for me.
575
Posted on 7 October, 2009 at 8:44 pm by Aukill
I agree with relaxedcashew… there are a little few titles (I don’t blame you Mike), I blame Sony, they should had all done in the store before lauching the PSPgo (which is a great system, congrats)

Thanks for your response Mike, and thanks to EnGhedi for articulating perfectly the motives of those of us expressing our disappointment here. While I accept your answer that publishers are not required to release content into every store, I also understand that SCEE are not powerless to influence this situation. Publishing agreements are entered into with input from both parties, so by not requiring (or otherwise incentivizing) publishers to release content across all SCEE territories, SCEE have in fact let us down. I imagine you will continue to field this question “every single week” unless something is done to address the imbalance.
