Howdy all, I hope you’ve had a good week!
It’s been pretty hectic here since last week’s store update (and Media Go store launch), but that’s not to say we haven’t been busy putting together more content for you this week. We should also be back to normal service regarding update times, but we’ll update the post once the stores are live (I believe Jem may even be planning to tweet you all once it’s live too).
I think we’ve carried on the PSP momentum fairly well this week, with a few more minis titles available; Sudoku, Mahjongg Tales, Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam, (and made those released last week available to some additional stores) another batch of PSP games such as Tomb Raider Legend, Daxter, Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman! and Prinny? Can I Really Be the Hero?, as well as NBA Live 10 releasing this Friday. We have also added some special offers to the PSP Store (and Media Go) and more information on these can be found in the content list below.
Our PS3 content also grows this week, with the addition of two games, Comet Crash and Digger HD, whilst we also finish off the Fallout 3 DLC with the final two packs Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta. There is also additional content this week for Red Faction: Guerilla, IL2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey, Topatoi, LittleBigPlanet, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 , Guitar Hero 5 and Rock Band.
Does any of that appeal to you? What are you going to be planning to download and play this week? What do you want to see coming to the store? Leave your feedback in the comments section and as usual I will respond to those questions that I can, or I’ll just leave some random responses (which will get more random as the day goes on) which won’t necessarily answer your questions, but may leave a smile upon your face.
Okay, that’s enough from me. Take it easy all.

hey mike what happened to the 2 R&C ACIT demos? they were suppose to be out this week.
also this is not a hit on you or anything but must be said.
when O when is sony going to treat Australia like a valued customer and not like some gum under their shoe?
i just wasted 200MB or so downloading PULSE in the hear that you have a chance to win a uncharted 2 fortune hunter edition, only to find out you have to live in the US.
great, like the US getting a exclusive play through at a cinema (something i will never see) and getting the game 9 DAYS EARLIER than i can dream about picking it up wasn’t enough of a kick in the balls.
sorry to be a sour candy, but this is really starting to IRK me, 99.9999% of things sony does is exclusive to the US.
the ps3 has been released outside the US just encase you haven’t noticed.
you dont want to know what i would do for that fortune hunter edition.
name it and i will do it!

Lol here we are begging for classics like Metal Gear Solid, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy VIII and what do we get from our loyal European publishers? A bugs life… America gets the top, Europe the bottom, well UK is because as usual… no classic game for Holland!
America has another from origin European game in its store… Pandemonium. No publisher can tell me that it has to do with legal issues they can’t release the games over here, while they’re original European. You know what they are? Plain ass lazy! Or just say that classics don’t sell around here then at least we have some straight honesty.

There is global maintenance on the PSN at the moment, hence the store’s being down – look like I’m apologising to you all again then – sorry

Prinny is present in the store, but links to a no content screen. It also doesn’t display the price.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite isn’t displayed in the bargains section.
I’m from Belgium, so it’s the at least the Belgian store that has the problem.

Could you please update the blog post when delays like this happen? It’s a bit of a chore going through the all responses (even though it’s nice to read them).
Any chance of Spotify hitting the PS3?? That would be amazing.

@AceAssassin, Generror
Sony Management have listened to Mike’s reasoned arguments that the store needs fixing and, like most management the World over, they have ignored staff who know better and decided to “work with the resources already at our disposal”, although, not wishing to seem mean spirited, they have allowed him to spend the whole of the IT budget on buying a new hamster for the PSN Store Computer.
Hence the offline period whilst Gerald the original hamster is joined by Dale a new hamster from the Australian sports science institute. Dale was top of his peer group and still holds the world record for wheel rotation when he reached and amazing 7200rpm in Cairns in 2003. His achievements were marked with a commemorative stamp issue in 2004.

Hi Mike. just a quick question about spyro 2, will it be coming back on PSN, is anything being done with it or is it just been dropped?
Thanks in advance

Posted on 9 October, 2009 at 9:40 am by NomadicWulf
Ok, maintenance on PSN seems over, thanks Mike for all your efforts! But do you know anything about the Fallout 3 DLC still not appearing in the Belgian PSN since I still can’t see it.
Posted on 9 October, 2009 at 9:49 am by Mike Kebby
It’s not going to appear yet – the Fallout packs are English only at the moment, the additional language DLC will be coming soon.
1218
Posted on 9 October, 2009 at 9:41 am by Scourgewood
I can’t understand why you keep getting it in the neck Mike. It’s not your fault that there was maintenance on the store and I know you are not responsible for the content that gets added to the store, you just relay from SCEE what will be added. I got fed up reading the same rubbish people were spilling, so just skipped everything and came here. lol
Keep up the good work Mike.
And remember people, don’t hate the player, hate the game.

Hi Mike,
Will Mothership Zeta be up later or do we need to wait until next week for it. I don’t see it on the store.

It has been submitted for the Irish store, the team are looking into the issue now and it should be up soon I hope.

For the love of god ,,,,, most people have paid top whack for fallout 3 in the first place around £40 when it came out,, it bedazzles me why someone would pay £7.99 5 TIMES!! 39.95 IN TOTAL for all the dlc’s
get this in your head people 16th Oct, THE GOTY £29.99 plus trade in old fallout 3 for money off,,
Sony dose not tell you that do they?

Thanks for the reply Mike, and I would prefer it in English. But people from other European countries have been able to download the DLC, when looking at some of the comments on this blog, from Norway or the Netherlands for example. The Netherlands in particular as an example, since they speak Dutch just as in Belgium. Then why do they get it, but we don’t? I mean, the additional language DLC is actually working against me, since my Fallout 3 copy has the English BLES code, and I don’t want Fallout 3 in Dutch, but in English, if at all possible through PSN. So if the additional language DLC would be coming soon, then why did some of the other European “non-English speaking” countries get the English DLC anyway?

Posted on 9 October, 2009 at 10:23 am by fredrikpedersen
may I ask when Operation Anchorage will make it’s way onto the Norwegian store?!? Because it wasn’t there last week, and it certainly isn’t there this week either! Damn you SCEE, I wish I lived in NA – where updates are on time and contains all it’s scheduled content. -_-

Hello PSS guys,
Could you fix some localisation mistakes, please ?
There is at least a mix between french and dutch at several places.
French “Demo”* should be “Démo” (instead of “Dèmo”)
French “Free”* should be “Gratuit” (instead of “Gratis”)
French “(Complete Game)” should be “(jeu complet)” (instead of “(Gioco completo)” for Puzzle quest: Revenge of the plague lord)
Ducth “Free” should be “Gratis” (instead of “Gratuit”)
* Blue labels at bottom-right of home page advertisement posters

Japanese store shows screenshots in the description (along with the text) of almost everything downloadable.
I think it is making the descriptions much more enjoyable, interesting and valuable. It gives a better idea of the stuff and encourages download of things that would have otherwise been overlooked.

Hmmm. Somebody’s maybe posted about this already, but anyway: I’ve had some trouble with some of the content of the most recent PSN update.
The NFS track “films” are downloading as .png images (i.e. just the thumbnails from the store).
The IL2 wallpaper “folder” is empty.

@1138 : hindahouse, I hope this DLC does not get delayed or messed up!
—-
Up next is Abbey Road, the first of three full albums scheduled for The Beatles: Rock Band this year. Beginning October 20, fans will be able to purchase the remaining 12 songs from the album that weren’t included on the game’s disc. As an added bonus, anyone who buys the album in its entirety (priced at 1360 Microsoft points, or $16.98) will get to play Abbey Road’s 16-minute B-side medley as one continuous track.
Following the release of Abbey Road is Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, which is dated for sometime in November of this year. With four songs from the album already in the game, that leaves eight tracks for DLC. Pricing was not announced for this full album bundle or for Rubber Soul, which is coming this December.

Mike, he is referring to this post on the blog. Army of Two theme is listed as free – it’s €1.99 or something in the store.
Also, why is there a localisation delay for the Fallout content? I bought my Fallout 3 copy here in the Netherlands; it comes with a Dutch manual and packaging but the game itself is fully English. So what you’re saying is that the Dutch store team is unable to translate the store description in time? Meh.
Could’ve added a demo section to the store as well while the team was rebuilding the store database last night.
There’s also an icon in the Whats New section that says ‘Playstation Forums’ – and it links to the PSN store, error 80023102.
I’m baffled to be honest.

Sorry if that has already been answered (I don’t have the courage to read 25 pages of complaints), but what the hell happened with Obscure? It was announced yesterday but now the games has disappeared of the list. ANOTHER bad surprise?

Wow look at the page number! Look at the number of comments! Look at the replies! Look at how late Mike was up replying! This has got to be a blog record?!
I can’t believe I missed a ‘lock in’ in the Store Update comments section! It normally fizzles out when I leave work so I didn’t think to check back!
Mike, I know you’re busy giving the store team a rollocking for what happened yesterday so won’t be giving anymore replies, but still it has to be said that you are a legend! Yes there are others in your team – but it is you that is the ‘face’ of the EU store and you that sits reading comments and replying to them, no matter how rude some people can be.

I know that delays are horrible but surely you have better stuff to than camp a Store upodate?
Mike, many thanks to you and the team loving your job and responsibilities enough to work around the clock to get it fixed rather than clock off and ‘do it tommorow’. I can imagine too well the reception you must of got off your families when you got home late.
How has is the rest of the team feeling after seeing this reception?
