Howdy all, I hope you’ve had a good week!
It’s been pretty hectic here since last week’s store update (and Media Go store launch), but that’s not to say we haven’t been busy putting together more content for you this week. We should also be back to normal service regarding update times, but we’ll update the post once the stores are live (I believe Jem may even be planning to tweet you all once it’s live too).
I think we’ve carried on the PSP momentum fairly well this week, with a few more minis titles available; Sudoku, Mahjongg Tales, Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam, (and made those released last week available to some additional stores) another batch of PSP games such as Tomb Raider Legend, Daxter, Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman! and Prinny? Can I Really Be the Hero?, as well as NBA Live 10 releasing this Friday. We have also added some special offers to the PSP Store (and Media Go) and more information on these can be found in the content list below.
Our PS3 content also grows this week, with the addition of two games, Comet Crash and Digger HD, whilst we also finish off the Fallout 3 DLC with the final two packs Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta. There is also additional content this week for Red Faction: Guerilla, IL2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey, Topatoi, LittleBigPlanet, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 , Guitar Hero 5 and Rock Band.
Does any of that appeal to you? What are you going to be planning to download and play this week? What do you want to see coming to the store? Leave your feedback in the comments section and as usual I will respond to those questions that I can, or I’ll just leave some random responses (which will get more random as the day goes on) which won’t necessarily answer your questions, but may leave a smile upon your face.
Okay, that’s enough from me. Take it easy all.

@AceAssassin,
Sony specialise in annoying the customer this generation, Im used to it!
Hopefully it starts working so you can presumably get Fallout 3 DLC!

@Mike,
Sony and Scam go hand in hand! Scam ~ A fraudulent business scheme. Saying content is free on an official blog then charging is a scam! Also, Sony weren’t on Watchdog last month for good deeds, rather for swindling extra funds off of loyal customers!

Do you think they’ll ever re-release Return Fire on the PS3 as a PS1 game so people can play it on the PSP? Return fire was brilliant and now very rare to get hold of, and I think there’s some incompatibility issues running it on the PS3, something about the game freezing when in Pause mode. So having this on the PSN to download would be great!

Hi there…
Will someone please tell me if the date of Obscure 2 has been pushed back? I can’t find it on the network, and when I googled the date there’s no mention of any delays – they all still say 9/10/09. Was really looking forward to getting this title… :-/
Thank you.

those floating comments are back
just a small problem with this week’s update, might have been mentioned but i don’t fancy going through a thousand odd comments to check, there’s a problem with the nfs shift london video, well not the video itself because i couldn’t download the video, i hit the download button and it just downloaded a png image file.
in fact i just checked and it seems all the nfs videos do the same.

Hi Mike, given that the store caused so much trouble this week and last, why not change the technology (OK, I know that’s a *hell* of a lot easier said than done) – load all the files on to the server but don’t update the public index. Then test it all works on a private index, then at 5pm on a Thursday night all you have to do is update one index file on each country’s server and the whole content miraculously appears simultaneously. I know I’m probably oversimplifying things (ah, the joys of project management) but it seems you could make your team’s lives a lot easier with a more efficient solution. Also, when you announce what’s going to be on the store you’d know with confidence that it was already there. I’ll wager that’s how Nintie do it.
Anyway. I’ not complaining. Given that access to the content is free and not contractually obligated, I don’t see how anyone has any valid case for complaint even if it were two weeks late, let alone six hours.

Weird… I have seen that JPN/ Hong Kong , all got FF8 PS1 in store. But we … didn’t…
It’s not a new game, and it’s out in PS1 like 10 years ago. How come we didn’t get it?
PS in EU really need to work hard to get us up-to-date with the world. We are not living in 1990…
p.s. Sometimes, I felt regret to buy PS3, while I am living in here. I never get updated games while talking to my JPN family or Hong Kong friends.

This has really nothing to do with the updates, but there are these chain letters going around and I want to know if there is any truth to them or if its just some xbox fanboys with nothing else to do but mess with the ps people.
1. there is 2 that regard the playstion store, saying that if you send this message to so many people you get $25 & $50 on a specified date
2. one that says basicaly the same thing but its for a beta key for modern warfare 2
3. The most IMPORTANT one. It says that Sony is going to make us pay to play online unless 500,000 users receive or send that message by 1/12/09.
If sony does decide to do that they are most likely going to take a giant financial blow, im guessing. Is there any truth to any of these?
Also any info about Square releasing Xenogears to ps store?

Posted on 11 October, 2009 at 4:26 pm by ericscolon
im sure who ever made that message meant 11/12/09
1272
Posted on 11 October, 2009 at 8:47 pm by QuietlyWrong
@1270 – classic chain mail. They aren’t true.
Your helpful guide: if a message says that you have to send it on to other people in order to gain something good or avoid something bad, then it’s a chain mail.
If a message says a certain number of people have to forward a message or send a message in order for something good to happen or to prevent something bad from happening, then it’s a chain mail.
If you’ve identified it as a chain mail, then it’s guaranteed to be untrue.

Well another week, and 40 EU countries feel cheated again. Total number of complaint posts on Bethesda’s forum has surpassed 400 and none gives a damn about customers. (http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1044310)
Is there any official PSN statement on why most of Europe cannot buy Fallout 3 dlc’s? (not mentioning millions in asia). Not everyone got localized copies, and there are tens of thousands of us all playing ENGLISH FALLOUT 3 bles0033… (including special lunch-box edition)
Is cheating PSN with fake credit cards/PSN gift cards and fake UK PSN account the only way to legally buy DLC for my English Fallout 3 in Europe (if I’m not in UK or Scandinavia) ?

@Mike:
thanks for keeping us updated- i know you have a tough job dealing with everyone, especially when you get abuse for stuff that isn’t actually your fault! Keep up the good work!
I’m late on this topic, but i’m going to echo the complaint against the price of Prinny- 39.99EUR? That’s around 44USD, for a digital download! I can buy it direct from NIS America’s online shop, with artbook and soundtrack for 39.99USD.
I’m definitely voting with my feet on this one, sadly. At a lower price, i’d have downloaded already, but this is just insulting to customers who wanted to get the official EU release. Also, it’s 25 pounds new on amazon…

Please hurry up and upload the proper nfs shift track guide videos (nurburgring, spa, etc), instead of the png image files that currently download when you select the download option. The videos from the last update work ok (willow springs and laguna seca, etc) and these png images are pretty useless as a track guide!
