Howdy all, I hope you’ve had a good week!
It’s been pretty hectic here since last week’s store update (and Media Go store launch), but that’s not to say we haven’t been busy putting together more content for you this week. We should also be back to normal service regarding update times, but we’ll update the post once the stores are live (I believe Jem may even be planning to tweet you all once it’s live too).
I think we’ve carried on the PSP momentum fairly well this week, with a few more minis titles available; Sudoku, Mahjongg Tales, Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam, (and made those released last week available to some additional stores) another batch of PSP games such as Tomb Raider Legend, Daxter, Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman! and Prinny? Can I Really Be the Hero?, as well as NBA Live 10 releasing this Friday. We have also added some special offers to the PSP Store (and Media Go) and more information on these can be found in the content list below.
Our PS3 content also grows this week, with the addition of two games, Comet Crash and Digger HD, whilst we also finish off the Fallout 3 DLC with the final two packs Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta. There is also additional content this week for Red Faction: Guerilla, IL2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey, Topatoi, LittleBigPlanet, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 , Guitar Hero 5 and Rock Band.
Does any of that appeal to you? What are you going to be planning to download and play this week? What do you want to see coming to the store? Leave your feedback in the comments section and as usual I will respond to those questions that I can, or I’ll just leave some random responses (which will get more random as the day goes on) which won’t necessarily answer your questions, but may leave a smile upon your face.
Okay, that’s enough from me. Take it easy all.

Mike, it needs to be said. The community at large, wants classic ps1 games, CLASSIC. Something is askew somewhere in the chain of command in what gets onto the psn store. I just looked onto the US store and was boggled at what was on offer just in the recent WEEKS.
Digital distribution should be breaking down barrier’s, not putting more up. A Bug’s Life just doesn’t cut it. It’s like a classic film channel, having a showing of Con Air or Face Off. I mean, sure they’re fun films but I want to watch my frakking Citizen Kane.
Posted on 8 October, 2009 at 1:27 pm by Mike Kebby
You are not saying anything of which I am already acutely aware, please be assured that we are trying to get more classics onto the store. Thanks for the feedback though, it all adds weight to our requests.

Hey Mike!
I noticed during the store uplift last week on MediaGo that some of the stuff was missing. Amongst them were:
Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce download packs 1-4
Space Invaders Extreme demo
Any idea if they were brought down for any reason?
Also, any clues on Dissidia? I’m playing it so much the battery keeps running out thanks to the UMD drive
Posted on 8 October, 2009 at 1:28 pm by Mike Kebby
The Dynasty Warriors packs are carried over with each release, so the fifth and most recent pack contains all the previous content from packs 1-4 as well as the new content
Space Invaders Extreme demo was removed at the publishers request.

Do you know when Fallout 3 Operation Anchorage is coming to the Norwegian PS store?
Posted on 8 October, 2009 at 1:29 pm by Mike Kebby
A resubmission has been requested so it can be added to the store, hopefully this will mean it won’t be too long until you are able to download it. Cheers

Hi mike. Why lie to us like this?.The expansions of the fallout have left only a few European countries.
In the other countries like Spain,Portugal, italy and large etc we have not seen the first expansion and now these will not.
And sony and betheslda give no explanation.
Read the official forums of the fallout, people are very angry.
Do you have any idea when they will leave the expansions in other countries?.

Hey Mikeface!
thanks for the heads up. fair few PSP titles again, some of which are back catalog so its nice to see that getting a bit of love.
after eating a bad pizza last night ive been sick all day so i think a copy of badman and a cuppa might be my cure!

My mistake, Prinny is a wallet smashing €39.99. Compare that to $9.99 in the US Store.

Hello Mike, thanks for the update.
One thing I am very interested in but unfortunatly don’t see on the EU PSN is the library of NIS games found on the US PSN. I know Disgaea 2 for PSP is not out yet, but is there any titles such as Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero?, or even Disgaea 1 on the way?

Hi Mike, will we be seeing more special offers on PS3 games soon? Just the one seems a little miserly!
Also, I hear that the Oddworld games will be making an appearance soon, any clues as to the timeframe?
I’d love to play through Abe’s Odyssey again!
Oh and where are those pesky new avatars we were promised with the 3.0 update?!
Ta!

Really? How on earth can you guys justify those prices? €39.99 (that’s $59) for Prinny: Can I really be the Hero? When it’s $9.99 in the US Store.
€29.99 for Holy Invasion Of Privacy Badman! $9.99 in the US PSN Store.
If you guys are trying to the kill the PSP before it’s even a month old, you’re going the right way about it.

Nice update Mike, although I think you’ve learnt by now that you’re never going to please everyone no matter how big the update! I’ve given you a 5-star rating to make you feel better
As for this weeks update I’ll be getting Digger HD and downloading some of those videos, I will probably get Trine too – I’ve been waiting for my PSN Store Cards to turn up before buying anything else (can’t argue with Zavvi’s pricing!).
What is you’re opinion of SCEA doing a deal to sell games on Amazon? Do you plan to do something similar in Europe? And are you worried about it affecting your sales in SCEE as it now gives EU users an easy way to buy off the US store without needing a US credit card…
P.S. I know you’ll be expecting my usual prod about exchange rates so here we go – Comet Crash (£6.29/€7.99) and Digger HD (£7.99/€9.99) are both $9.99 games (well done Comet Crash, boo hiss DiggerHD!), Guitar Hero tracks (£1.59/€1.99) and Rockband tracks (£0.99/€1.49) are both $1.99 downloads (well done Rockband, boo hiss Guitar Hero!)
Posted on 8 October, 2009 at 1:35 pm by Mike Kebby
I know this to be true, but that’s the nature of everybody having views of their own – and it shouldn’t be any other way
The first I heard about SCEA and Amazon’s plan was the other day, not wuite sure what my own views on this are yet to be honest. I’m trying to find out if we’re going to be doing something similar.

We can’t force publishers to give us content, it doesn’t work like that I’m afraid…

Nice price on Monster Hunter, I hope we can see more of these “sales” that come close to the actual price of the physical games on amazon
Seriously now, I might pick it up now and show some support for fair pricing.
I gave feedback on you, Mike, a few weeks ago on the Contact Us section, and got no reply. They don’t love you (or me) much!
I believe it’s a solid update, though, I like the momentum you’re creating towards a new era for the PSP, even if sometimes Sony passes the idea it just wants money.
Two things, if I may ask:
1) Please tell the Webmaster guy/gal people would really love being able to actually reply to one another, and having an option for instant mail notification. I hate how I have to refresh this page for the whole day hoping to have a reply and ‘nada’. Then I have to check my post’s number, search on the pages for any @number to see if someone else replied to me or commented it. Not nice.

Fallout 3 DLC and more PSP games makes this a good update. I just wish we’d get better PS1 classics.
Mike, Question for ya.
Ya say the publishers have to send in the content for SCEE, before it can get sent here. While I respect the answer and such, I just think that the answer’s a bit fishy. That would mean, that more than half the game companies in the world (big ones included as well) are ignoring SCEE and their fans. Sounds fighy to me. :/
Anyway, good update, and thanks for always responding to our comments
And good luck being the first poster next time mate

2) As a student developer, I’m a bit angry at the fact that the way to get some SDK support for Sony consoles is being good at programming and releasing on Apple’s AppStore. You won’t compete much with them if you require developers to prove themselves on the iPod/iPhone first. I will concede, though: since I bought Fieldrunners I can’t play anything else!
I know you’re not in charge of these things and my post is probably “you’re fired”-dynamite to you. You’re just the only person we can talk to, so, sorry for the rant.

Great update, can’t wait to carry on with fallout but i’ve only got £8 in my account until the end of the month, do I buy Point Lookout today or Mothership Zeta. HELP!
Posted on 8 October, 2009 at 1:43 pm by Mike Kebby
I think most people would say Point Lookout, as it’s a large new area and has more choices I think. By the sounds of it, whilst shooting Aliens in space will be a lot of fun, it’s a little bit more linear than Point Lookout, depends on your preferences I suppose – but either way any Fallout 3 fan should get every pack

IF THEY OWN IT THEY CAN TELL KONAMI /CAPCOM TO GET LOST CANT THEY??
Posted on 8 October, 2009 at 1:47 pm by Mike Kebby
Why would we want to stop publishers giving us content? It wouldn’t work to give them a list of content they can release or else we stop them from releasing content on the store, that is not an option.
I feel the frustration I do, but we need to help them get content onto the store (which we do where we can), not try and bully them into it.

Hey Mike, I was just thinking do you ever wish the internet in Europe was operated like it is in China? i.e. sensored information and no free access to external sources? Just think how much easier your job would be if no one knew which games have hit the US store and missed the EU one, or what pricing is operated in the US, or how many PSOne games the US store has!
Every update would be a 5-star masterpiece and you would come to the comments section to get your ego stroked about how great your updates are week in week out, rather than get ranted at about “where’s X?” or “why is Y that much?”!
I wonder what will happen when MGS, FFVIII and Resi Evil finally hit the SCEE store, what will be the next SCEA update to give you the shaft I wonder!?
Keep the faith though, you’ll be looked back on as a hero of this console generation in years to come!

It is a scam when your charging us £8 per pack when the goty edition is only £30 MAX. These packs will total way over £30, and you dont get the original game.
Your ripping us off. Plus since the recent patch the game is practically broke. Its full of issues relating to framerate and freezes.
Can you just tell me mike is there going to be another fallout patch ? I would be happy to pay £8 per pack if the game was actually eqial to other versions in terms of performance.

Again, WE do NOT create the prices for 3rd party content, therefore we are NOT ripping you off.

Seriously, what’s the word on Konami & MGS? Have they at least got the ball rolling to get it up on our store yet? Also, why is Crash Bandicoot 2 STILL not on there again? Just one more.. THQ & Smackdown. Anything at all?
Cheers.

Wow….MORE PSP games this week? Do you want me to file for bankruptcy? lol…thank god we’re finally getting more psn titles.
My PSP Go salutes you Mike!
Also, pretty decent PS3 update too, Digger HD FTW!
I got a question though Mike, any news about Dissidia popping up on PSN? I mean surely a high-profile title like that would be coming out on PSN to benefit from all the New PSP Go customers?
And…Does Obscure come out today or tomorrow?
