Hi everyone,
I’m Thach Quach, European Software Product Manager for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
After having being awarded ‘Game of the Show’ at E3 and ‘Best Console Game’ at Gamescom, everyone at SCEE and Naughty Dog is absolutely delighted by the amazing reviews the game is getting so far, it’s been fan-tas-tic! I hope you’re all equally excited as the game launches this week across Europe and the PAL region: 16th October in the UK & Ireland, 15th October in Australia & New Zealand and 14th October across the rest of the PAL region (Update: The game will be on sale in Germany and Austria on the 16th of October). Only a few days to go!
And if you still haven’t heard or seen anything about Uncharted 2 then here is a trailer for you. If you’ve already seen it… well… no harm in watching it again 
We have a Collector’s Edition available in selected retailers across the PAL region which includes some really great and exclusive content:
- Steelbook case with transparent slipcase
- Art cards
- A PSN voucher which allows you to download two character skins and some gold plated weapons to use during your multiplayer showdowns and a XMB theme.
Here is how it looks like, there’s still time to pre-order it guys
Last but not least, I’m also delighted to share the European TV Commercial with you. It will run across Europe and the PAL region from this week onwards. It follows the “The Game is Just The Start” campaign which was kicked off by the launch of the new PS3 model. We wanted to convey the adrenaline-fuelled and action-packed experience of the game but also allude to the Marco Polo mystery which is the backbone of the Uncharted 2 storyline. Hope you like it!

Cancelled my pre-order today due to shockingly unnreliable Royal Mail, their strikes are getting rediculous.
Will be at my local Asda at 10 to midnight on thursday to pick my copy up, cant wait!!!

Will pick it up the 15th, so I can take home that + Brutal Legend at the same time
Uncharted,IMO, is the best ps3-game out there.

@58 – The post strike can’t start until they give 7 days notice & as of yet they haven’t given any notice so you should get the game without any delays
I just hope the strike holds of for another 2 weeks while my pre-orders come though

Ahh! i may know who the 2 skins may be, but i don’t want to spoil the surprize
Are Naughty Dog going to reset the earning people/rank that people got on the Uncharted 2 demo/beta? I play it quite a bit and got to lvl 28.
I know someone on my friends list nilly got to lvl 50 last time i checked.

Hi Thach, I dont suppose you know which two multiplayer skins you obtain with the Collector’s Edition?
Also will those two be exclusive to the Collector’s Edition or can you gain them by gaining levels online or through DLC?
As for Uncharted 2, I honestly cannot wait, it has Game of the Year in my mind. At least from what I have seen from it and playing on the multiplayer beta.

Hi Ikkarus. The two multiplayer skins are exclusive through the PAL Collector’s Edition. How about waiting to see what the x2 multiplayer skins are when you redeem the PSN voucher

Ordered my copy. Collectors edition with the Steelbook.
£42 at GAME (with £2.50 of points off)
More than what I normally pay (Ever pay xD) But when devs like Naughty Dog, put so much effort into a game. I don’t mind now and again. As long as they make a third!
Plus the Steelbook is nice

Had it preordered for ages, been on the multiplayer demo which is great. Hopefully Sony push this ad on primetime TV as it wil really shift some systems and games. Which has got to be good news.

Cancelled my pre-order cos I’m worried all this stuff with the postal strikes and whatnot are gonna mean me getting the game a little later than I’d like, so I had a question;
Will the steelbook edition be hitting the retail stores too? I’d kinda like to pickup the extra skins and golden weapons if the option is there…

Hi sowasred2012. It’s available from the GAME stores as well but your best bet is to get it from the GAME’s website in case stocks are not available in store. Up to you of course

Hi I can’t wait to get my hands on this game on Thursday here in Australia. Will Australia have their own servers for this game as I have found it very hard to kill opponents. It takes me atleast a whole magazine to kill someone? Also do trophies involve multiplayer or just single player game?

Who does the voice acting for the new female character? I recognise the voice but can’t place a face/name to it. Thanks.

really looking forward to this game, I’ve pre-ordered Uncharted 2 as soon as my local dealer (game mania and they have the CE
) put it in there pre-order catalogue, just a few days now!
I expect big things! I totally loved drake’s fortune, so it can only go better

Hi guys, like I just posted on the forum, I beleive it is due to them selling their initial allocation so they are basically warning people that if they try and order the collectors now they wont get the game on launch, if they do want it this week they will have to order the standard edition.

Hi qwertyuiopasdfgh. In Europe and PAL Territories, the golden plated guns are only available using the PSN voucher inserted in the Collector’s Edition box.

I beleive the golden guns are exclusive to the collectors edition, you have to get something good for spending the extra cash!
The special edition is exclusive to Game in the uk, there was a post on the blog last week about where it could be purchased.

Little bit disappointed in the static XMB theme for the COLLECTORS edition. With the BIG introduction for dynamic XMB themes (blabla only 5 or so available for monster prices) i thought the collectors edition would have a dynamic theme. It is called COLLECTORS EDITION for a reason right?
Any news on a dynamic theme being placed on PSN soon?
