Would it be possible in the future to combine the PSN cards with the mobile phone top-up card system? As in, linking your card to your account, then just going to a newsagents to put money on it? That would make them re-usable, and mean that someone wanting a £21 game could put £21 on their card. I’d definitely use that.

Geez… people need to ease up in SCEE a little.

I finally pick one of these up here in Australia, after seeing them in the wild for the first time.

Yes, the Bluray box my seem excessive, but I think its for the benefit of the retailers than anything else, as it lets them stick the boxes on the shelves in amongst the games, thats what the shop I bought mine from was doing, I wouldn’t have noticed they were selling them otherwise!

For all those complaining about the waste of plastic and i agree it is, but im glad as my Uncharted 2 turned up early yesterday in the post and the box had been absolutley destroyed. Luckily the disk itself was fine so i just put the uncharted sleeve into my spare PSN BluRay Case

I think the plastic cases are bad too! Maybe if sony see the volume of responses they will alter their approach to the vouchers (or as a previous poster suggested, once they have used up surplus game boxes).

I think orders on the internet could easily be an email with the code in it, for purchases at a store, they could have a system similar to the top-up voucher on pre-pay mobile phones which is just a standard receipt with the code on it.

Besides, what’s wrong with a bonus CD/DVD/B-R case? I’m sure I’m not the only one with a whole bunch of blank CD’s that need cases.

Whoever approved those plastic boxes deserves to lose their job. Where’s the ecological sense in it? These codes should also be available to buy online, so a lot less need to be manufactured. I’m shocked that Sony (and Microsoft from what I hear) is this environmentally ignorant!

Great to see these finally here, got my first card the other day way easier than the old way I had to put money on my wallet.

As said above awful waste of plastic but hopefully just a temporary packaging until Sony can get a more greener package.

Come on, why put up artificial barriers for things like this? I can understand not being able to use a UK or Swedish card on other accounts as they/we use Pounds and SEK. But why on earth can someone in Belgium not pick up a Dutch or French card and redeem it? What’s the point of a single european currency?

1 question:

Sony gets more money when i use my credit card instead of a PSN card… because the retailer gets a part of those 20€/$/£…

Are Sony planning to make some special offers, reductions for those who continue to use their credit card?

Because if not, i think that a lot of people will buy those cards instead…

Plastic cases are pointless when we only want the number on a piece of card. Would it not also save SCEE some money which could be used elsewhere?

I think everyone who thinks plastic cases are bad need to voice themselves on this blog so that SCEE can see!
