Hello, hello. Hope all is well with you
You may have seen already that the WipEout HD Fury Complete Pack hit the store yesterday (to match the retail release), this pack combines the full game and recent Fury pack in one handy bundle and there is literally hours of gameplay here waiting for you. We’ll also have the full games Uno, Mushroom Wars and the strangeness that is .detuned ready for download later today.
We’ll also have a new quiz for Buzz!, so you can test your knowledge of all things spacey (that’s the thing above the sky, not the actor), a new pack and bundle for Lumines Supernova, and a few new bits and bobs for High Velocity Bowling. As usual there are also new tracks and packs for Rock Band and Guitar Hero too.
We’ve also got our next batch of dynamic themes available, so you can customise your XMB with animations from the worlds of PixelJunk Monsters, Pain and High Velocity Bowling.
Finally, from today until Monday morning you can download the first Map Pack for Call of Duty: World at War at a reduced price.
I’m sure most of you this week will be playing Uncharted 2 anyway won’t you? If not, I prescribe an immediate dose of Nathan Drake…well, what are you waiting for, off you go.
Until next week, take it easy.

STORE IS NOW UPDATED.

Wow!, was about to buy Mushroom wars BUT noticed it has no online play at all, i mean the makers ripped of Galcon in every way and then left out the one thing that makes Galcon great, the online 4 player mode.
Sorry, not going to buy it now, devs Galcon is all about ONLINE (check out the website) so to rip it off and leave that out is just plain stupid, i mean good god, even Galcon on the iphone has 4 player online so to not have it on a PS3 is just LOL.

@ Naeeni, Sorry my mistake I was getting mixed up with Comet Crash! Comet Crash, Critter Crunch, easy mistake to make don’t you think?
@ HazelAM, I’m not saying I agree with the process, I’m just saying that Sony run their business differently to other console makers. Sony operate 3 major submissions – North America, Europe and Japan – and if it passes one it doesn’t mean it will pass another, or even be submitted by a publisher.
Unless you work for SCEE you can’t presume to know how easy it would or would not be to bring out PSOne classics or other PSN content, especially when basing it on the publishing process of a completely different (and predominantly 1st party) organisation! And if you did work for SCEE you would be bound by an NDA so you didn’t discuss it. I’m sure they don’t hold stuff back on purpose just for the enjoyment of watching people moan about it on the forums and I doubt it’s as easy to fix as clicking their fingers and saying “right now we have a global submission policy”…

Mike,
You said in reply to #33 that today’s dynamic themes will have video previews. I just checked them on the (Australian) store and didn’t see a preview option?

Dear Mike,
Where is MGS1?
I don’t think it should take this long to get onto the store.. or does Konami/Sony not care?

No video previews for the dynamic themes in the UK store either
3 of the 4 premium themes at least have some screenshots.

apnomis, you’re right, i don’t know how hard or easy it is for scee to get ps2 games on the store.
but i know the problems scee are facing nintendo will face with the added complication of many of those games being originally released on a different company’s console, yet they still manage to outdo scee’s output by a very large margin.
maybe they just have a different way of doing things, maybe they’re incompetant, maybe somebody really is trying to sabotage the ps3 in europe.
i don’t know which option is true, and frankly i don’t care, the end result is they’re not doing a good enough job and things need to change.
that is true no matter what the facts are.

I just paid £9.90 for Quest for Booty, having played through it in about 3 hours, my confidence in PSN content has dropped considerably, and it would take a lot for me to buy anything off it again. I also won’t be buying the next full Ratchet&Clank game as I won’t reward being taken advantage of in this way.

.detuned from farbrausch is quite cool, a healthy dose of respect from me for supporting such a diverse creative outlet that is the demoscene, i hope you will bring us some more little well priced gems from this talented resource, thanks.

Not having a go at you Mike, but as someone who owns a PSP Go I have to say I feel pretty misled by Sony. The device was supposed to get support, but so far we’ve had very little on the store and ridiculously expensive pricing for what is there (compared to the US store, which is well stocked and much, much cheaper). £32 for Prinny? In what universe?
It simply isn’t good enough. I didn’t shell out over £200 to have very little to play on it. If it weren’t for Motorstorm I’d have barely touched it.
Thank God I’ve got my 3000. Unless the situation changes by the end of the month I’ll sell the Go and keep the model which actually has a decent selection of games available for it. Doubt I’ll be the only one either.

K-8-O: If you want to know about any upcoming products from the Demoscene on the PS3, keep yer eyes peeled on “pouet.net”. You’ll hear it there first!

Err and how many games were available on the PSP’s very first release day? There were a few, but not as much as the Go tbh.

Just wanted to show my appreciation to Sony for supporting us

Where is Justice League Heroes (the american store had it for go launch) and when will we see Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops?
The chances of a reply to this is slim but i would love some reason for owning my go!

Nothing worth getting for me…again, sure hope they would get dissidia and crisis core to the store soon as those not being there are the only remaining reason for me to not switch to PSPgo.

@Scourgewood: Yes, but the original PSP was a new console. The Go is the same thing minus a UMD drive. That’s really not an excuse.
Sony and developers knew the Go was coming months ago, and so far we had the update on launch and last week’s minor update. Why wasn’t the store prepped and ready months ago? The games will work on all models, so it’s not compatability that’s the problem.
The US store had over 100 titles at launch. SCEE were either unprepared or unable to supply a decent flow of games, and when we’re paying more for the unit than anywhere else in the world, that’s even more of a slap in the face.
Again, not a go at Mike, I admire the man, but as a paying customer I am entitled to gripe about the current state of affairs, which is extremely poor to say the least.

There’s no surprise there’s no new PS Classics. We don’t get any here in Europe T_T. Although I have heard the Silent Hill is coming back to the store ^w^ and it better be because the American Store has it so why can’t we? ¬.¬

Had to rate this update 1/5.
Hope I didn’t crush your spirit Mr Kebby.
Can’t wait til we finally get those PS1 titles… *sigh*
A guy can dream…
“There must be lights burning brighter somewhere
Got to be birds flying higher in a sky more blue
If I can dream of a better land
Where all my brothers walk hand in hand
Tell me why, oh why, oh why can’t my dream come true
Oh why”

Can anyone explain me how 5.99€ for Sim City 2000 can be a “special offer”? Also thanks God there are the PSN cards now. I just ordered 1 £20 card for £15.95 from Zavvi.co.uk so I will be finally able to download Broken Steel for Fallout 3. And THAT only. What Sony can’t do, the free market does. Was that so difficult to enable EU credit card in the UK PS Store? Yes, I do have the British version of Fallout 3. 40 euro instead of 75 as I saw in some shops. Oh, I imported Demon’s Souls as well. “sorry” for the bitterness, but I have the right to.

I am extremely glad I wasn’t suckered into buying the PSP Go. It’s turned out exactly as I envisioned; very very few games, most of them old or not very good.
I can’t understand why SCEE weren’t prepared for the launch of the PSP Go. Don’t try to tell me they were well prepared because it’s evident that wasn’t (and isn’t) the case. Very poor show, SCEE. Being a gamer in Europe/UK/AUS isn’t easy!
Nothing for me in this week’s update, but not bad on the PS3 front, just terrible on the PSP front which I thought would have been properly catered for given the circumstances.

Still haven’t received my GT code. I downloaded the theme on October 2, nothing.
This is a horrible update. I have Uncharted 2 so I’ll deal, however this isn’t good news for PSPgo owners, 3 weeks in and the flow of games has stopped. I bought a PSPgo expecting a constant flow of quality digital content. SCEE = FAIL

Gotta say i fully agree with people being misled about pspgo its a joke really can you imagine the ipod coming out and itunes having 160 games total , no movies or songs lmao . £225 yet scee charge way more than a boxed game too gotta say any1 who bought a go is off their head i knew sony would let users down with games

“how many of you have played FFVII on psp & broke a world record best seller on psn”.
umm.. no. the biggest individual game seller on psn is battlefield 1943, which has sold around 600,000 copies if i recall (not sure if that’s just for psn or psn and xblm).
@acetone – most of the 100 games added to the US store at the launch were already on the UK store, they’d been added in dribs and drabs before that when the americans got little. there are over 200 pieces of content (games, demos, minis, PS1 games, etc) for the psp on the UK store, the difference in *quantity* from the american store isn’t that big.
@i_just_lold – and the americans on their blog complain about not getting stuff we already got (they still don’t have trine for example). *shrug*
