Can I get a yes yes?!? it’s a world first and a VidZone first! ‘The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy‘ BOOK has released a theme tune – You heard me right, A BOOK MUSIC THEME…this is normally reserved for TV and Film only. VidZone is the first place in the world you can watch this animated video with characters literally spinning into space.
The new single (released 12th October) and video by the Blizzards will coincide with the release of sixth instalment of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy which has been written by Eoin Colfer and both are entitled called “And Another Thing”.
The Blizzards are a multi award winning pop band in their home country of Ireland and have played to 50,000 strong crowds at the likes of Oxygen festival as well as supporting Oasis, The Prodigy and AC/DC. The video went live on Thursday 15th October 12, 2009 at 12:00PM BST.
Thanks for your time and enjoy
Ben

Your towel? What are you on about?! If you meant VidZone hasn’t come to your country yet then you should note it’s not Christmas yet. Quite a short blog today Ben.
When I saw you’d posted a new blog I got all excited. But this short blog didn’t really fufill my Creasey desires.

hoopy.
only heard about the new book a couple of days ago and now i discover it has a theme song.
and if you don’t know what a towel’s got to do with this you need to read the books.
if the frood doesn’t know where his towel is that’s not good.
but remember, “don’t panic”

This must be Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays…
Also, this is really awesome. I had no idea that there was another book coming, can’t wait to check out the video. Too bad Douglas Adams is no longer with us to write it…

I hope all these exclusives (or at least some of them) are getting coverage in some of the mainstream media and not just on this blog? I could see this making a nice article on BBC Tech site and some of the music exclusives on their music site.

i still haven’t forgiven them for Mos Def in the film.

I hate to break it to everyone, but Eoin Colfer is far from a hoopy frood who knows where his towel is. Either Douglas should be writing the books or noone should. The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy already has a theme, “Journey of the Sorcerer”, recorded by The Eagles, and the new one is a travesty (I have heard it performed live by the band and therefore shout my accusations loudly for all to hear)
P.S. Geoff McGivern (Ford Prefect in the radio series) agrees with me.

@ MobileTone
Agreed – a film of HHGTTG was always a bad idea, but it still amazes me that they made such a colossal mess of it. I was raised on the original TV series, followed by the books and the audio series… but i wouldn’t use the film to wipe my own backside. SEP field in place and walk away…
@ Mega-Midget
Best thing the Eagles ever did. Ever.

@ ElStefio – Abso-frelling-lutely. it’s like they’re ar-e r-ping my childhood.
@ Mega-Midget – you’re right, you hear that tune and instantly think HHGTTG.
