Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is modern combat in stunning detail. The game authentically recreates conflict in a 360-degree theatre of war, which enables players to approach objectives from any direction. On this realistic battlefield, where one bullet can kill, players face the fear and mortality felt by soldiers as they are challenged to survive the rapidly evolving situations of battle throughout the game’s single and 4-player co-op campaign.
Whether assaulting, flanking or suppressing the enemy, or calling on fire support to rain down from the skies, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising demands players think on their feet, reacting quickly to any situation the game’s advanced AI throws at them. In this theatre, every decision counts, every action has a consequence and every bullet can kill.
We’re giving you the chance to win a PS3 slim console, a copy of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (PS3), an Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising T-shirt and a key fob torch! Two lucky winners will each receive a copy of the game on PS3, a t-shirt and a key fob torch.
All you have to do is head to eu.playstation.com/psn/competitions/ and answer the question.
Good luck!

Hey guys — I’ve asked around internally and there are a few things to take note of:
This promotion is open to residents of Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and UK aged 15 years old or over. I’ll make sure country lists are communicated within the blog text from now on.
You also need to be using a computer to enter this competition. accessing the page from your PS3 will not work.
There seems to be a problem with the Dutch text entry box. This will be fixed. For people who entered already, we will disregard what was put in this box, to keep things fair.
Unfortunately we’re unable to open competitions up to all European countries, for legal reasons. Sorry about that!

“Operation Flashpoint is modern combat in stunning detail”
That may be true for the other platforms but it’s obvious the PS3 version of this game got the rough end of the stick as all the textures are horrible, theres less effects and grass, its all very underpar compared to the PC and the other versions.
Yeah it’s a jerk move for me to reply like that to a contest, but you should know that if youre making a multi platform game, dont gimp a version

It is great idea. To bad that the PS3 version looks really bad compare to the 360 version. I would like a huge patch fix for the game before even start thinking of buying this game. Can anyone from the developer respond if there will be a patch that will make the ps3 sloppy port version up to snuff whit the 360?

Its great , But I’m angry …
It says:
“Based on your PlayStation Network details, you are not eligible to enter this competition. This may be due to individual country laws regarding minimum age and competition entry requirements. ”
But I’m still 19 , and from Germany , and friends can enter it …

When competitions are announced that are restricted to certain regions, how about stating that in the post? It’s hugely annoying to read the announcement, click on a link and find there’s nothing there.

Is the competitions already over? When i click the link the page says “there is no competitions available at this time”.

A HORRIBLE version for the PS3…SHAME on you for selling this crap to PS3 owners. The X360 version is superior….SHAME ON YOU!

The Dutch contest is BUGGED! Please look into it.
Look at this:

What are we supposed to typ into that box? If I select the correct answer and press “Send” it says that fields required with a (*) should be filled in…

Never mind, I guess? I just typed the correct answer into the box, and I also selected the right answer from the multiple choice question.
Why do we have to give the correct answer twice? I still don’t get it

Tempting, but I wuold feel like stealing the game from other people, since I already won it. Feels like cheating to me, I’m way too honest.

i hope they patch this game soon as there are time limits! since when in war do you have time limits and if you dont make it in time you have to start again. the commanders would not send it there tanks or attack helicopter’s till you’d cleard the AA and anti tank munitions!!!

This game is terrible on the PS3, I wouldn’t even take it for free.
Bad ports like this shouldn’t even be allowed to come out on the PS3… make the devs put the same amount of effort on both systems or 0 sales.

Is this not available for Australia? It doesn’t show the competition on the link provided.

A game like this does not work very well for anything other then the PC. Its no good to play on the PS3.

BTW the scenario is incredibly unrealistic in that it pits Russia against China in 2011, but these countries are part of a Union already called the S.C.O. This scenario is as realistic as the UK attacking France in 2011.

An EU competition where certain EU-countries are not allowed to take part of the competition?
Thank you very much, I feel very appreciated and taken care of by Sony…
Why won’t you let all of the PS3-owners in EU take part in this competition?
Why are people from Sweden banned from this competition?
Bad form, very bad form.

What’s the empty text field below the * for? There’s nothing to explain what you’re supposed to enter there.

Hello! Interesting selection of comments here, my colleague Gary loves the game on PS3 – but he is a rampant Sony fanboi! Sorry to hear some of you are having trouble entering, I can’t help with those queries I’m afraid as I’m just a PR monkey – but the lovely people at Sony should be able to help out. (We just placed the comp, we’re not running it.)
I can help sintax-error with the, arguably less important, T-shirt issues. It’s just about the coolest bit of merchandise you’re likely to score. We get plenty of T-shirts in the office and this is something you’d be happy wearing outside the house!
The Key-fob’s pretty nifty too, especially handy for dark doorways at the end of a night out.
And the PS3 Slim, well – I don’t think I need to tell anyone how desirable they are… So, good luck everyone. (Or, indeed, those of you that have been able to enter.) Have a great weekend!
Cheers,
Sarah

@ sarah Hartland
Thnx for the reply at the other belgian comment.
But we still didn’t got any answer why belgium isn’t included and other countries.
Posted on 17 October, 2009 at 4:51 pm by Sarah Hartland
No, but I did mention that I’m merely the PR here, Sony should have the answers to those EU questions, we just placed the comp and the prizes I’m afraid. Sorry I can’t be more help with that kind of stuff. Personally, I don’t see any reason why the whole of the EU can’t enter this comp – but it’s not my call I’m afraid. Once again, good luck to those who can enter!

Now this is getting interesting. I can find the competition, though it says I cannot participate because it is not available in my country but in rules it clearly states that my country(Finland) can participate the competition.
