Hi everyone,
I’m pleased to announce that our new UEFA Champions League commercials will air on TV tonight.
Indi Cowie, one of the PlayStation Freestylers 2009 finalists, was invited to feature in one of the spots and here’s what she wrote for you.
Don’t miss the ads tonight!!
Hi, I’m Indi Cowie and I’m a 14 year old female football freestyler. I was fortunate enough to compete and win PlayStation’s Freestyle Competition in Rome the same day as the Manchester United FC vs FC Barcelona UEFA Champions League final. This earned me the unbelievable opportunity to film a TV commercial for Sony PlayStation who are a sponsor for the UEFA Champions League. The location of the shoot was Prague and I hope you enjoy my post from an incredible trip and experience in this beautiful city!
My mum travelled with me as my chaperone and after connecting through London Heathrow we arrived into Prague the afternoon of Tuesday August 18th.
We checked into our hotel which was located in the heart of the city. The hotel was luxurious! Prague is an incredible city with very interesting history and we immediately set out to tour the city. First stop was Wencelas Square and Dinner! We then set off on foot to visit the Petrínská Rozhledna (Petrín Lookout Tower, and people comment that it is a miniature Eiffel Tower). I counted 299 steps to climb to the top of the tower ! We took the photo below from the base of the tower.
I had brought my football with me of course and managed to squeeze in some freestyling at each location! We spent Wednesday sightseeing and the city vibe was incredible and the buildings were amazing! The shops and markets were so unique and sold really unusual trinkets. Next we visited the Astronomical Clock and Tyn Church. That’s me with the ball stuck to my head below !
Thursday was “Wardrobe Day” but we were able to squeeze in more sightseeing in the morning! We walked across the Karluv Most (Charles Bridge).
This is the oldest bridge in Prague and the main pedestrian bridge connecting the Old Town to Mala Strana. We climbed to the top of one of the towers and the view was incredible as you can see from my photo below. (Thats me and my mum by the way!)
We came back to the hotel and a car took us out to the wardrobe location. This was the first time I got to meet the producers and directors and the rest of the team and I was soooo psyched about it. It was hard to believe and take in the incredible experience I was having. I kind of assumed that I would be wearing a football outfit for the shoot, so the wardrobe fit turned out quite interesting. You will understand why when you watch the TV commercial!
On Friday we blasted more sightseeing and I think we kept the best for last – Prague Castle. I love visiting the castles in Scotland but this was just spectacular.
Saturday was the BIG DAY. At last the video shoot and the day I have been excited about for weeks! We had a little bit of free time in the morning and my mum and I grabbed some souvenirs and a few gifts for my family and friends. The shoot was a night event and at 7:00pm I arrived at the stadium for hair and make up. The shoot started at 8pm and it was sooooo amazing to be on the set with everyone.
Initially I was quite nervous to be in front of the cameras but I quickly got used to it and it was just the most amazing experience. I ended up hanging around the set until 3am !! The final product is sensational and I think the only way to understand how fantastic it looks is to look out for the commercial on TV.
First time it will air is Wednesday Oct 21st – LOOK OUT FOR IT!
I am so fortunate to have been given this opportunity and I want to say “thank you” to the following people that made the entire experience so memorable.
Everyone has been so kind and supportive and made me feel so welcome and relaxed. This was an opportunity that I will never ever forget.
Shout out to STUART D, RICHARD M, SOPHIE J, EDDIE F, CHARLIE H, AL Y, KERRY L, ROB P, JOSHUA H, MARK S, JUDY V AND MIKEL A.
For the ones who can’t wait for tonight, below is a screenshot of Indi’s ad.

It’s funny how the ball in that screen resembles the Xbox logo…

Can’t wait to see the ad. Is it going to be aired tonight during the commercial break at the Champions Leaque games? Or are other countries beside the UK only going to see it within days(weeks)?
Btw (I don’t want to sound like a female-hater or something), but it sucks for her that she is a girl and not a boy, with her skills she probably could have become a professional footbal player.

As of late the Sony Playstation ads have been great including this one, but what is on with the Sony heart adverts when England plays? Everyone knows about Sony as a brand name, you should show products and why they are better than their competitors, than sticking them all together and make them “beat”. Especially since alot of people watch the games and im sure those ads dont come cheap.
