Afternoon all; second post of the week, sick of me yet?
We have a varied offering of content this week, but the big news is that we’ll have Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars available for download on Friday! Also available on Friday is the release of the full game Hannah Montana: Rock out the Show, as well as four packs for the game too. That’s not all for the PSP this week however, as we also have WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010, Marvel Superhero Squad, Astro Boy and G-Force available for you. The latest mini title is also added to the store, in the shape of Red Bull X Fighters.
For the PS3, the demo for NBA 2K10 is ready for you to try, as well as the first packs for EyePet (which is released in stores this week) so you can start customising your pet with some new content already. There are also free packs for Midnight Club Los Angeles and Cross Edge, and as usual more content for Rock Band and Guitar Hero.
We also have two new dynamic themes available this week, for the titles EyePet and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, and trailers for Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Dragon Age: Origins.
We’ve also added new titles into the Special Offers section this week too, with the full rundown of al content listed below.
As usual, you know where to find me…

Hi Mike, is the lack of The Beatles: Rock Band Abbey Road content a typo or is this pack seriously not being released today?
The Press Release from Harmonix does not only state a release date of Today (22 Oct) but specifies the UK price as well.
http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169459
“Av ailable for Xbox 360 (Oct. 20) and PlayStation 3 System (Oct. 22)”
and
“Price: $16.99 USD, £10.46 UK, €11.37 EU”
I don’t need a long elaboration for why is it/is it not released. A simple “Yes it’s coming/No, it’s not” is good enough for me, even if you can’t state/don’t know the reason.
Please, double check that for us, if possible.
Cheers.

Mike I have a lot of respect for you coming on here and taking flak every week but, great as it is to hear from you (especially after years of silence from SCEE) it’s equally as frustrating to hear you make the same comments week after week (“no news”, “it’s not down to us”, “I can’t say”). Again I’m not trying to shoot the messenger but there are some very good points raised here week after week and it doesn’t appear as if our (and your) protestations are carrying any weight with those who can answer these questions. The whole point of a blog was to create a dialogue between customer and company and whilst I think you do a great job, the restrictions you obviously have placed on you, make it an impossible task. We need transparency and a new attitude of customer service from SCEE and until that happens, people will gradually migrate away from Playstation as a brand, and that would be a shame.

Agreed.

@ AcidSlash
It could possibly mean that I suppose. If thats the case, we should get them. Oddworld is extremely popular as far as I know (the ps1 games at least)
Another reason I’m hoping the Oddworld games will come is because they’re available on Steam for PC. And have been licensed/published for all available EU countries.
So hopefully its a simple (er) process to get them on Psn.
/Hopes!
I would buy the discs. But they wont play on the PSP
And remote play is a bit too laggy for precise platformer type games like Oddworld.

Another disappointing week for PSOne classics. Why can’t they just wait until the games are ready to be released for all regions, then release them in both the US and Europe at the same time?

We should know by now that Sony need to hire someone to answer all the questions, Mike isn’t good enough alone.
Just telling the truth…
I don’t care if Mike “READS ALL THE COMMENTS”, he doesn’t reply, so there’s no actual point in it all.

Thank You for your answer, Mike. I am very disappointed in Harmonix for misleading us again with a false release date for the Rock Band pack. That’s not the first time this happened and probably not the last. That-other-console fanboys :/ Huh.

I think we all know why so many people are complaining about today’s update, there just simply aren’t enough Dragon Age Origins trailers!
Any news on if the Motorstorm Artic Roll demo is still coming? I’ll end up giving in and buying it before long, or is that perhaps your evil masterplan all along?
Thanks

If SCEE is reading this comment, you do realise that the lack of European content is encouraging illegal activity for UK customers to use the American PSN right? People won’t be prepared to buy PSN cards either.
232
Posted on 22 October, 2009 at 3:27 pm by dgnfly
ya but mike if you read all this stuff howcome the store updates never change you might be restricted with some thing but you could tell them we want psone games and better psn support cause we get toneddown in almost everyway and for the responses on the blog you won’t have 2 answer that many question if you guys got us the same content as other stores and make us wait more than a year

I will say this for about the thousandth time, people don’t like the truth do they?
And yes, it is up to SCEE (in a way), they need to approach these companies. Why can’t people read my other comments? :’(
I’m afraid I’ll be here all day today (I got the day off today ^_^) until Mike provides me with an answer as to why the publishers haven’t approached SCEE, or vice versa.

@229 It’s not illegal at all.
I’m one of those that is pretty much giving up on the EU Store at this stage. $50 US PSN vouchers can be bought on eBay for $58 and represent better value for money because of Sony’s hideous exchange rate mark-up. I’m going to buy FFVII again (I already bought the EU version) from the US store so I can don’t have to worry about switching account associations with my PSP.
237
Posted on 22 October, 2009 at 3:33 pm by twinkle123

Then why did sony lie about the amount of games the PSP go would be getting on day one… riddle me ree

Yeah, see, people don’t like spending their cash on these vouchers and cards. If you use Google, you’d know that most customers illegally use the American PSN, Sony haven’t done much about it either.

so no uncharted prequel motion comic for any non americans?
and dont tell me it’s down to the devs this time because it’s an sce title.
are we going to have to wait till we get the eu video store?, and god knows when that will be.
why don’t scee take a more active part in providing content instead of passively waiting for content, you think scea and scej just sit back and wait?
are those need for speed vids from three weeks ago going to get fixed this week?
one last thing mike, as if we could ever get sick of you. b^_^d

@246
Gimmeh your evidence as to why it isn’t illegal.
Sony has set a standard from European and American PSN for a reason, and the publishers publish their games on certain PSN for a reason (for which I don’t know ‘cus it’s stupid). So, for one country customer to use another country’s PSN is pretty much illegal because they are bypassing the standards.
Sorry Mike man, but you are literally the only person who can make a difference here.
