Should this not be called “golden controller”? Who uses a joystick anymore? (except for flight simulations)

@tojeka – Well… TV-shows doesn’t actually use some weirdo angel with lightning shooting out of its arse in production, still the Emmy Award is one…
The joystick (as an object) has become the de facto symbol for gaming.
It has been that way for years, because the first true gaming controller was a joystick. That’s why it makes sense.

It’s a shame that Uncharted 2 is only able to be in the one to watch category. If only the shortlisting was done slightly later then it would surely be a big contender for ultimate game of the year.

I would vote for Jeanne D’Arc if you guys would actually release it in EUROPE!
I’m in Australia, so we pretty much get whatever Europe gets, but I can’t believe SCEE/Level 5 refused to release this in the continent that IT WAS ACTUALLY SET IN!
SCEE, Level 5 – Release Jeanne D’Arc in Europe + Australia!!! I will not rest until it is so!

can’t see activision getting many votes for publisher of the year
and the awards are going to be on the bbc.
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=226001
just the radio though, shows the bbc still don’t see games as mainstream media yet, as evidenced by their decision not to make any more episodes of charlie brooker’s gameswipe, the one off was well recieved all round, yet they decided not to make any more.
get dominik diamond on the board and then maybe we’d see a decent gaming show on the bbc.

Why are games like Batman and Uncharted 2 “ones to watch”? I’m pretty sure I’ve played those games already…
24
Posted on 26 October, 2009 at 12:44 pm by HazelAM
they’re in the ones to watch category because they weren’t out when voting started.

yeah, i voted months ago (early june i think), mostly for killzone2. i think the voting window is much too long. uncharted 2 is undoubtedly a great game, but there’s a possibility that by the time the next awards come around it’ll get overlooked, especially with the massive hype for CoD:MW2.

shopto.net for best retailer.
I hope Activision doesn’t win. Having just two franchises isn’t good enough. Media Molecule for the win

i’d like to wish media molecule the best in the joysticks, they deserve to win all the categories they’re in.
and lbp for game of the year.
and voting is now closed.
just have to wait till friday now.
if lbp wins game of the year i’d love to see the trophy appear in the game as a decoration.
maybe they could make one for home.
