This Week On The SingStore (29th October 2009)

Hello!

I am very excited this week as there’s a lot going on in the SingStore!

We’ve got some great tracks for you including Duffy with ‘Warwick Avenue’, ‘Move Your Feet’ by Junior Senior plus ‘Holiday’ and ‘Bonkers’ courtesy of the excellent Mr. Dizzee Rascal.

If you’re a fan of bands whose names start with ‘the’, The Raconteurs, The Bravery, The Cure or The Stone Roses might be worth having a look at. I know I will.

SongPacks available for download in this update come from two amazing bands: Enter SingStar heaven with ‘Duran Duran’ and the fifth and final pack by the mighty Queen.

Don’t forget to drop by the SingStore this Wednesday when we will be releasing the first bunch of Starter Pack SongPacks (full tracklisting below). There will be four more in the coming months and I will let you know about release dates and contents a few days before they appear in the store.

Not that all the above (and below) isn’t enough, there will also be a brand new download available from the Extras section of the SingStore on Thursday.

The Wallpaper Creator lets you create your very own in-game wallpapers with images from your hard drive plus you can change the menu colours and music to suit you. You can download the Wallpaper Creator for just 2.99 €/£1.99 plus existing SingStar wallpapers are now available for only 0.75 €/£ 0.49.

Will the starterpack song become available as single downloads in a couple of weeks?
I only want Abel – Onderweg and Clouseau – Anne.
The Guus Meeuwis song I already have and I don’t know the other 2 songs??

I hate the songpacks. Not this ones but the concept. Often I have 1 ot 2 of these songs already. Why not buy 5 pay 4 for anything from the store?
The Wallpaper Creator would have been great if it was free. This is not very classy.

Yeah I actually have the same question as MonsterRacer as well. I’m not planning to buy the same song twice albeit in a Song Pack with other songs.

As mentioned above. These will be released as singles on the store in time.

The point of a ‘Starter Pack’ is just what it says on ‘tin’ – to give SingStar newbies the chance to start off with a great selection of tracks. These are also one half of the Starter Pack discs in these counrtries but we thought we’d make them available for all you SingStar veterans, too…

Yay. I was worried when I read the blurb and didn’t see any songs I liked, but then opened the full tracklist to find 3 Doors Down, Fall Out Boy, La Roux (!!) and Mika. Excellent.

Any chance of seeing “Wonderful” by Everclear? Or maybe some songs from Australian/New Zealand artists like Ladyhawke, The Presets, Grinspoon or (more) Silverchair?

Could you tell me if we also get the songs on the store that you put on the blu ray disc of the starter packs?

There are so many great songs on it and for people who already have singstar it makes no sense to buy the starter pack (because of the mics). It would be great to have those songs availabe on the store…

Hi Nina, nice to see some more Dutch songs the last couple of weeks.

Most of them are not exactly my favorite kind of music though, I wonder if you could put De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig on your list? Would be awesome (and so much fun! ) to sing that. Also would be nice to have Extince, and some other Dutch rap.

Also as far as pop music is concerned, I would like “Op Fietse” by Skik, some Marco Borsato, and “Zwart Wit” by Frank Boeijen.

Nothing to really interest me in the new tracks this week, but a new Celine Dion track makes the starter pack an instant purchase. Now I know you can get her older songs, then I’ll have to put a “SingStar Celine” disc along with “Singstar Elton” on my wishist

Hi,

Am I missing something here or are ‘Starter Packs’ just non-artist specific song packs by another name? Are they a different price? Are the songs easier to sing? I don’t get it.

Whatever, new songs are always welcome. I’m looking forward to Under Pressure becoming available as a single song, I’m a big Queen fan but the Innuendo album wasn’t brilliant, esp. Headlong – ‘Now you’ve got soup in the laundry bag?!’

Hey Nina,

first of all, you’re doin a great job. I just wanted to ask you, if you can tell us if the cool songs of the starter-set dics will become available for us any time soon. Amazon for example has listed “Broken Strings”, “Dance with Somebody” and “Wire to Wire” but i obviously can’t invest 60€ for a disc with 5 songs

Anyways, hope you can give us some insight

Why are we told that the songs will be in store on the thursday only for them to finally go on late on friday?? this has happened for the last four update i can remember…Maybe an explanation as to why this constantly happens?

What’s the chance of more country/Pop music, like Taylor Swift who was America’s biggest selling artist 2008, bigger than chris Brown and Rihanna. Kellie Pickler or any other Tracks off the US Country Game. These tracks have been done for playstation already.
