Howdy folks.
I’ve noticed that a few corners of the internet picked up on a comment I made last week saying that this week would be a big update, I just wanted to put it into context before I began, the full comment was ‘Well next week is going to be a mammoth update in comparison – I can tell you all that much”, I think the key wording here is ‘in comparison’.
I’ve set this up like it’ll be a small update now haven’t I? Well, I’m only toying with you dear reader
, this week is a veritable feast of goodness, so join me as we jump into today’s update to savour the tasty delights that will befall you later today.
Seeing as Halloween is round the corner we have some suitably apt content, in the form of Zombie Apocalypse, the mini title Zombie Tycoon, Elvira makes an appearance in Pain, the Pumpkin mask returns for one week in LittleBigPlanet and even Guitar Hero and Rock Band are getting into the spirit.
Full games line up in the shape of Hasbro Family Game Night for the PS3, and LocoRoco Midnight Carvnival, Crystal Defenders, Super Monkey Ball Adventure and Football Manager Handheld 2010 for the PSP.
Then we get all demo-tastic with two Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time demos, one featuring Ratchet and the other featuring, yes that’s right, Clank. Fat Princess, Trine, Zombie Apocalypse and Dragon Ball Raging Blast make up the rest of the PS3 demo list. For the PSP you can sample LocoRoco Midnight Carnival, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe and Crystal Defenders.
Then (yes there’s more) you can get hold of downloadable content for EyePet, Cross Edge, Beatles: Rock Band, DJ Hero and Trivial Pursuit, finished off with a light smattering of trailers and themes.
Finally, for our German speaking friends you can get hold of all the additional Fallout 3 packs this week, and we’ve also added the English language version of the packs onto the Portuguese and Dutch stores too.
Now for a small announcement, this is advance warning about next week; we are only releasing a small update next week as we have some behind the scenes work (nothing exciting, but necessary) underway, so we’ll have minimal time to update the store – normal service will resume from the 12th however.
Okay, now for the fun stuff – get commenting!

downloaded the fat princess and trine demos last night, but haven’t tried them yet. looked through my history, and it seems i’ve downloaded 54 demos in total, of which i’ve eventually bought 3 (and 1 of those i was going to buy anyway). demos don’t seem to sell games for me.. :-/
btw: for info, if anyone wants to download the 2 ratchet & clank demos, it’s 5gb in total. i’m going to buy the game anyway, so i passed, especially having already downloaded 6gb for MAG recently.

So how much longer until Final Fantasy VIII is available at the PlayStation store?

Mike, the problem with the store is not the service in itself, but rather the inferiority of our store to the US one.
Personally, if I’d known it would take so long to score some decent PS1 classics, I’d have signed up to the US store instead and bought credit for it on eBay. I’d still do that now but someone told me I’d likely lose my EU shop content.
Any chance of a new feature on the blog that lets us track down our own posts quickly? Scouring page after page to see if we go a response can be frustrating.
Thanks for reading

forget about us/uk store comparisons
the real problem is how inferior the rest of the european psn stores namely portugal are in comparison to UK (because UK=Europe and ignorance is kewl)

Once question about the rating posts are we rating the post quality, or the post content?

Mike please do not delete my post in future, it’s not good to disregard a customer’s opinion just because it reflects badly on Sony.

aawwww! yep another week of sadness, another disappointing ps store update, but hey what else can i expect since im only interested in one thing, Xenogears. any idea of when it will be in the US store or just any info about it?
Mike doesnt have total control of what goes into the store, so stop being rude.

I want to point out that the Clank demo isn’t showning on the Swedish Store. By using the “Search” function, you can find the icon for the demo, but once you select it, a message pop up saying “No content found”.
Also: is there a way to directly contact the local PSS Team to give feedback about some content not showing up?

I only can see a few minor new games for psp in ue psn.
Is quite simple, there are a lot of fantastic games for psp in umd, so, what is sony/square enix/whoever waiting to update psn with these good games? Christmas? I don’t think is a problem of copyright, because some of these games have been released in japanese or/and US psn.
I have patience, but….

Hey Mike I totally understand how you feel, my only surprise is its taken this long, i guess you will have to think whether its worth all the hassle. If it was me i would post the update and then thats it, no reply’s or anything else.
Hope you have a good weekend and you can forget about work for a couple of days, i know that i do

Hello Mike,
I’m from Poland and I’d really like to know if dlc for The Beatles: Rock Band, Abbey Road track pack, will be coming to Polish PS Store… at all. Or it may be available through in-game store, I don’t know… I ask you nicely to answer my question
Despite that it’s one of the greatest updates since long time, Ratchet & Clank, Trine, Dragon Ball, Zombie Apocalypse… really cool. I hope you’ll keep it this way, but for now, big kisses for the whole team, especially women

and now, this week’s retro corner
for the eu vc: zombies ate my neighbours from the snes.
and the eu psn: another week of nothin’
and new from this week the us psn: this week the us got no new ps1 titles, though they still have the three tomb raiders, or is it four, blood omen and final fantasy tactics from recent weeks.
and that’s this week’s retro corner.
until next week

Will we have to wait another week then, or longer?

My only regret is that I haven’t double checked the PSN Store situation before registering to EU one. I did that in a hurry, which was a big mistake. Thankfully, I am the happy owner of PSP300, so i can buy every game possible cheaply, but I bought PSP for PS1 Classics as much as for the new games and that EU store fail to deliver. you fail to deliver pretty much everything, but since i have the freedom of UMDs I don’t care so much for PSP games in the store. PSN store is a great platform, but lack of content kills it. If this some new marketing move to make people more loyal towards Sony, they you fail miserably.

Battle Tanks or Tank Battles that is the question ?
The game plays as Battle Tanks but seems to be listed on the store as Tank Battles.
It has been reduced to £5.49 (Was £7.99).
Good game but annoying for people like myself that paid full price only for it to be reduced so quickly after release, not cool.

“Another five track pack to put on the list of offenders – I should have spotted this myself too. We’re working on rectifying these issues with the help of the publisher.”
The Wolfmother track pack isn’t any cheaper if you buy the pack or you buy single songs here in Norway, 10kr per song or 50 kr for the 5 song pack, however the pack is advertised as being cheaper than the individual tracks.
The same thing happened with the first Spinal Tap pack, which is actaully costing more as a pack than individual tracks.
I buy a decent amount of DLC for the Rock Band platform and appreciate that the packs are at a reduced rate, however someone from Harmonix at RB.com said they didn’t set the prices but Sony did and you say you have get help from the publisher to rectify these mistakes, then i’m not really sure who is responsible.

I cant’t help but get my hopes up for it. I got the game when i was 8 (I’m 16 now) and I grew up with these characters. I ended up having to get it again because i broke the first disk and now even that is broken due to age. It’s definitely going to be on the store anyway because it will be a huge source of income for both Sony and Square.

Hey Mike, Just wondering if we’re gonna see some Metal Gear anytime soon? Portable Ops Maybe? But what we’d all really appreciate is Metal Gear Solid (PSX), any chance of us seeing it on the EU store finally?
Was also curious if we’d get to see Gun Showdown some time soon? Thanks Mike
