As warned last week, today we have a smaller update than usual, but I’m hopeful there will be something for most people.
For PS3 users we have got the NBA 2K10 demo available properly (we had some issues first time we tried to release this for you) and the Hextadon pack for Brütal Legend arrives and is free to all for the first two weeks of release, so don’t miss out on this offer. LittleBigPlanet celebrates its anniversary with two pieces of free content; they will only be around for one week, so grab them whilst you can.
The highlight this week for PSP users must be Ghostbusters surely? However, this is followed by two other full games – Dragoneer’s Aria and Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron. We also have another mini making its way to the store in the form of Spot the Differences!
If the new content doesn’t take your fancy this week, then check out the new batch of special offers – it’s a good opportunity to grab some content you may have missed previously, and at reduced prices too.
Finally there’s also an additional piece of content making an appearance on Tuesday (the 10th of November)…more details to follow.
That’s your lot this week.

Yes, pleace stop all the Ps1 requests!, we want ps3 content!, or even some remade classics for ps3 (up to date versions!) – I would like to see a ps3 version of Pandemonium for example, and would also love a remake of great gianna sisters, there is lot’s of old classics that would look great in HD I suppose!.. I also hope trackmania could had made a ps3 version, it would had been awesome!
If you want ps1 classics, why not simply pick up the real thing!

Okay all, I’m logging out and shooting off soon – meeting, then home to bed to try and shake this cold
I’ll try and log on again a bit later if I get the word today saying I can confirm what’s coming on Tuesday. If not, I’ll do it as soon as I get the thumbs up.
Thanks for the feedback as always, and take it easy.

Thanks for the hard word Mike… two things I would like to note
A. The reason a majority of people want PSOne Classics is to play them on the PSP, not the PS3. For that, we can just buy the discs and pop them.
B. Crash 2. That’s not a third party game… so please tell me you have something on it? >_< It was up on the store before then removed for some bizzare reason, but Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot Warped and Crash Team Racing are all still up
Thanks.

seany1: if you’re so littel happy with the EU store, why does you simply not just buy off the other stores then if they are so much better? (Like us other clever…) No reason to complain as long it’s out there!

Hi mike any news on Hogs of war coming out on PSN

Posted on 5 November, 2009 at 1:17 pm by noruraeus
Mike I think what you should do next week is post links to the forums of Square Enix, Konami etc., and tell people to wants PS1 games to go there and request them. Less noise here and more noise where the people making release decisions for these games actually are around to listen.
I can’t help but wonder if the people demanding more PS1 classics here also go down to their local game shop telling their staff their idiots for not getting more disc based games released.

Mike Kebby, I think I might cracked your secret:
On Thuesday Call of Duty Classic will come to the store. Yes?

Posted on 5 November, 2009 at 1:18 pm by geddesmond2
People are only putting blame on Mike because he is the communicator. I can’t talk to the people at SCEE and tell them we want proper classics. But I can drop a comment on this blog for someone who can talk to SCEE. Mike took the blog job knowing quite well what he was in for.
When we say Mike we want this or Mike we want that. We are trying to let Sony know we don’t want a bugs life or winnie the poo but we do want Resident evil and Dino Crysis.
All it takes is SCEE to reach out to these publishers and say we want yous to release this game here. As Mike already stated, thats a stream of income. If Sony reached out to publishers, there not going to turn down a money maker now are they.
This is why we complain about the classics to SCEE because they arn’t doing much about them

Finally! the PSone classic
but its nice to have abe and spyro etc back in my collection. just a shame that Sony or the original devs make no money from my ebaying due to these licensing laws that seem to plague this particular region. Oh well! I will be picking up the cake costume this week and the Assassins Creed trailer.
(oh and the fl0w trophy patch??)
“Party time with Whinny the Pooh”
has arrived on the store!
This news has made me cry real tears of laughter today and for that I have to say thank you because the gift of laughter is priceless.
Very funny SCEE, very funny
TBH I have more or less given up on classic Psone games coming to the EU store so I have been raiding ebay instead, shame I cant play them on PSP though
Looking forward to Critter Crunch, PixelJunk Shooter and Gravity Crash

Has anyone of you even played Party Time with Winnie the Pooh? It’s pretty good party game. Not as good as Crash Bash but still
Good memories!
I’d buy it if I could play on PSN against others

Hello Mike.
Can you give me the number to “the guy(s)” at Square Enix / Konami who is responsible for releasing games onto the EU PSN, just want to have a quick word with them.
Or maybe you can call them and say that you will burn down their house if they dont release any games anytime soon ?

Nothing that interests me this week (though I might try the NBA demo). What annoys me most is that we were told last week the update would be small (you gave a perfectly good reason why) and people are still complaining. If you are so annoyed about the lack of PS Classics, then take it up with publishers like Konami and Capcom. As a sidenote, any idea when we will be getting Uncharted 2 DLC?

Ey Mike,
First off, hope you feel better, this little flu that’s been going around seems to be quite harsh.
Second I was wondering if the Fallout 3 dlc would be appearing in the dutch store this week as something appeared to have gone wrong last week. Just wondering what went wrong and if we can expect the dlc in this weeks update.
Be well dude, hope you feel better soon;)

mike. a great solution that would convince devs for gettn games on store ps1 . do a poll or article abt WHO WANTS PS1 GAMES on blog then after u get responses take it to devs . i bet at least a thousand people would want them from the blog

hey mike, u seen this thread? http://community.eu.playstation.com/playstationeu/board/message?board. id=419&message.id=113296&query.id=159554#M113296
i think people should stop complaining about Winny the Pooh an disney titles. its content for gods sake. who cares if you dont like it, dont look at it, dont download it, dont COMPLAIN about it. i mean, its bad enough complaining abuot content that we dont get due to publishers, but it baffles me when people complain about content that isnt significant to them. u arent the only person on Sonys target sales list. i’m sure there is somebodys kid out there who is absolutely delighted that their mum/dad bought them a Winny the Pooh game as now its their chance to play the PS3 with a dedicated game as opposed to givin them a shot on Uncharted or whatever.
Yes this most likely belongs in a forum post not a blog post, but my god…

Any news on when megaman powered up will be coming to the EU?
I read in joystiq that the US will be getting it today.
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/07/capcom-dates-promised-psp-um d-legacy-titles/
I’d find a copy on amazon or something, but I’ve got a pspGo so it wouldn’t do me a lot of good.
Cheers.

Seriously guys leave Mike alone, the guy is ledgend for coming here and taking your crap each week, PS1 classics are great but why are you all desperate to play games you’ve already gone through? I say it’s great to have a team that works so hard on giving us new and original content, thats always been Sony’s ethos, and thats the reason you and I all own PS3′s.
I will be picking up the LBP stuff personally
132
Posted on 5 November, 2009 at 1:47 pm by i_just_lold
@131
Well most of us haven’t got a PSOne anymore/access to PSOne games anymore, and would like to replay those games from a decade ago, which haven’t been played on since a decade ago.
Mike isn’t a legend, he is a simple Blog poster and a busy man working for Sony, why don’t -you- leave him alone?
133
Posted on 5 November, 2009 at 1:48 pm by noruraeus
@geddesmond2: I am very sure the publishers do know about PSN and the business opportunity it is. I would be extremely surprised if Mike getting in touch would be the first time they hear about it. ‘Oh, there is PSN in Europe too? We thought that was only in the US and Japan, why haven’t anyone told us this before?’. The real story probably is, ‘yeah, we know about EU PSN, problem is that with things like national differences in moral rights and normal copyrights and old agreements with national distributors it is just to expensive to make them available, compared to the potential income, sorry’.
134
Posted on 5 November, 2009 at 1:49 pm by SausageDog
Mike, as long as you’re talking to publishers would you mind articulating why Konami pulled Silent Hill from the store at the start of the year? It was released and then quickly yanked before most customers had the chance to buy it.
I’d like to hear a tangible reason for this because it’s neither of the usual reasons given for games not being on the store, i.e. publisher disinterest or inability to gain digital distribution rights.

Will get NHL now it’s a reasonable price. Another sigh & facepalm to the PS1 classic. Maybe MGS will make it for Christmas?

What are you doing, Mike. Winnie the Pooh I know your responsible for this, and the fact I have heartburn and your also the reason my bus was late, (only jesting). Nice update was expecting less, will be picking up RB, LBP, Brutal Legend and Eyepet stuff.
@everyone whos complaining they wouldnt release stuff if no one was buying it, obviously they could make more money with better games but thats their fault not Mike’s

Posted on 5 November, 2009 at 1:51 pm by Toothball
Still seriously lacking in the PSP games available for download. I’m really trying to be positive about my PSP Go when telling my friends about it, but the fact that I still have to carry around my old PSP so I can play the games I want amuses them no end.

Party Time with Winnie the Pooh is a Classic? Oh dear, I must get it immediately then.
[end sarcasm-mode]
Really now Mike, how hard it really is to get REAL PSOne classics to Store. Maybe it would help us unwashed masses to understand how hard the reality is if you or someone else would do article about bumps, snares and potholes, that slows and/or prevents real classics from entering to Store.
Yes, I know the usual ansver you can give, but I do hope you also understand our frustration, that grows with every update. I do understand that you personally can’t do anything about this and I also suspect you are almost (if not even more) as frustrated as we are.
Have a nice day!

@132
But you’ve already played them, if you wanted them so badly go and buy a PS1 and some games, you can pick them up quite easily, or keep your consoles? It just doesn’t make sense, with all the content out for PS3 at the moment I just don’t understand why you want to go back in time and play things you have already played.

Lol, are you dumb? How can I remember what happens in PSOne games from a decade ago. Anyway some PSOne games are better than the games out today. Hmm, like MGS1, TRII, FFVIII, RE1+2 and SH1.

@SausageDog;
Mike explained a few times that it was mistakenly put on the store when it wasn’t supposed to be
@O_277;
Because we want to, they are excellent games and no they aren’t so easy to get a hold of any more. Have you seen the prices on ebay for some games? Right now Castlevania:SOTN is going for $169.99-$250.00.Final Fantasy 7,8 and 9 go for at least $80 each.. Do you see why people want sony to release them again like they said they would?

All of these comments, and no one is commenting on the fact that the PSP has three brand new games released on the store, two of them at a very good price point (Ghostbusters for £16.99, very comparable with the shops on UMD) and one game at an expensive price (Star Wars), but hell, for a new star wars game, I shall be happy to part with the money. Go Go PSP Go…….

Do you people even read mike’s responses. HE HAS GONE HOME CAUSE HE IS UNWELL.
I think some of the people on here need to grow up and realise that in the real world things don’t automatically happen when you click your fingers. It may be our hobby but please remember Sony is a business and having to sort something that seems as simple a bangin a file up on the store really isn’t. The amount of BS they’ll have to go through is massive, plus the fact they will most of the time dealing with game companies outside or europe and times the fact that they will sort these games out for dozens of countries ALL AT ONCE. America is bound to get some things. To behoest it’s amazing that we get as much on time as we do. Thanks for all your hard work SCEE guys and gals
And remember this is the company that put out a £400 machine, if they can put something up for us to but, they will. I jest, I jest

i am sure he went home and i wish him well, but the questions regarding fallout dlc in dutch psn store were made when he was still answering questions.
he ignores them completely cause he knows he is at fault.
shame.
